Thanks for sharing your experience, your video helped me immensely in preparation for my amazon SDE internship interview. I just got an offer last Friday for the summer :)
Thank you for watching this video, I hope everyone's job search is going well this season! Good luck with your applications, you are just one application away from that offer :)
Your videos are so nice and so pleasing to watch! Your channel deserves a lot more audience, and I know you will get that. Just keep doing what you are doing.
Hi Sarah what do you recommend for a laptop for programming? Or what is your current setup? Thanks and enjoying your videos as well keep up the good work!
hi! good question:) this depends on what operating system you want to use. sometimes jobs ask for experience with linux systems so it might be helpful to consider that. also it’s probably important to think about RAM, ssd and the display within ur budget. i use a hp spectre for the last 4 years of uni and i like it for taking notes and coding. but i have been thinking geting a macbook 😅
Did courses at ubc prepare you well for this opportunity or is what you did outside of the classroom that contributed more to the opportunity? Thanks for any info, i admire ur hard work
I would say both! Besides DSA (221) there are not too many useful lower level ubc cpsc courses imo, so i actually learned a lot about web development from my first internship. In your upper years, there good classes (304, 317, 310) that will prepare you for internships better.
Your voice is really charming no wonder how you got that internship. I am in my 3rd year and learning web development side by side any suggestions on how I should be moving forward would help me alot?
That’s awesome! Personally, I learned most about web development from my internships and then it was personal projects. For projects, I used freecodecamp and followed their tutorials a lot.
Hi Sarah, your video was amazing and very informative. Are online test prep courses that cost a good amount of money worth it? I received my first OA ever I am super nervous, Thanks for the video again!
@@sarahliyt sorry to keep bugging you, just got my offer for vancouver but no stipend details in the offer, was it part of your offer letter? It would be much much appreciated if you can answer. Thank you in advance!

Hi Sarah, i will have my interview in a week. May I ask was it 50/50 in terms of time for behavior questions and technical questions? And were you able to solve all of the technical problems in the interview? Thanks a lot
I had one internship and one mentorship on my resume. as for projects, i had two full stack applications, one was web and one was mobile. hope that was helpful :)
I think it’s definitely helpful to have web development projects/experience on your resume! DSA is mostly just a skill you need to ace your interviews but having project experience is useful for your actual work.
depends on the company, many roles require swe knowledge, so they may test you on dsa to see if you have a grasp of cs fundamentals. but usually questions are centred around aws/azure experience and ci/cd pipelines.
Aye thanks for the shoutout, and great video btw!! Very underrated channel :)
OMG whattt!!! I cannot believe you saw this video !! I literally watch you everyday and i loved your recent amzn video ;)

hey do u know if u could go to amazon Seattle as a Canadian or do they usually just keep Canadian interns in Canada?
If you applied to the Canadian internship I believe you will only allowed to be within Canada
Great video, can you make a day of the life of intern video?
yess ! i definitely plan on making one soon :)
Very informative and useful. Now I feel I am ready to apply for my next intern at Amazon. Lol
hahaha goodluck 🤣
i am applying for barclays next week gotta crack the coding test
goodluck ! you got this :)
We’re you able to get a return offer from amazon because I have heard amazon is not giving return offers
haha i have not gotten one yet!
For a software intern is data structures all we need to do or for resume do we need any additional skills like web development , machine learning etc.
I think it’s definitely helpful to have web development projects/experience on your resume! DSA is mostly just a skill you need to ace your interviews but having project experience is useful for your actual work.
Ok thank you ❤
Hey for roles like cloud computing and devops, do thiey still ask DSA?
depends on the company, many roles require swe knowledge, so they may test you on dsa to see if you have a grasp of cs fundamentals. but usually questions are centred around aws/azure experience and ci/cd pipelines.

7:08 "Religiously checking reddit" lmao too real
😂 i definitely need a reddit cleanse
Do they have any age restriction? Or does anyone can be considered at any age to be an intern with them?
I think you need to be enrolled in post secondary and that’s all !
i have my amazon OA in 2 days🤞
Goodluck !!! You will do great :))
