Not all of the head turning is like this - they're fairly similar but there is a rubber belt version of the gearbox where the small spindle shaft has a 10 tooth on the other end, but it's the same concept where you remove the split gear and put the new one back onto the shaft. It's just a few more common sense steps though
I was trying to do this on my life size snowman, and there are 3 gears not 4 and when I try to push the gear onto the shaft the shaft goes down. There’s also no gap to put the wires through when I put it back together.
I’ve seen some people say that repairing the head turning mech in 5ft dancing skeletons is more difficult than with other lifesizes, is this true? I don’t have much repair experience but really want to repair mine
Great video, this could be useful for me in the future. Idk if you can help me but my Gemmy Pennywise's eyes fried, not just the leds but the whole thing (the wires and jack). Do you know how I can replace them.
How would I go about fixing the 6ft gemmy Ghostface’s torso? Mine stopped working and I don’t know how to access the area or what I’ll need to replace.
So for ghostface body turn you’ll need to take the robe off, unscrew the 4 screws holding the shoulder bracket and set that to the side. Next thing you’ll want to do it take the 4 screws around the head connector off. Once you have that ring off you should be able to pull up on the head connector piece and the whole head turning mechanism should slide out. After that there will be 4 long screws that hold the shoulder frame with arms in place. Take those one and carefully maneuver the frame off. Try not to take off any wires. Next thing is there is a giant screw that you take off and once that is off you can pull up on that cap. Underneath that part will be the actual body turn mechanism. There will be 3 small screws that hold the cap to the mechanism on. Once you have those off it will have you access to the gears. The smallest gear inside the mechanism on the motor will be your issue. Replace that heat with a 10 tooth 2mm shaft plastic gear and put it all back together. MAKE SURE TO TAKE PICTURES AFTER YOU TAKE THE SHOULDER STRUCTURE OFF BECAUSE THE CAP THAT IS HELD ON WITH THE GIANT SCREW FITS ON ONE WAY TO MAKE IT WORK PROPERLY!!!!!!!

Yes that’s all he does. Seems like they kinda cheeped our on him. This is the rare model too. Lowe’s had a different model that didn’t have a moving arm
Months ago this was on my Facebook marketplace for $140 with box I'm not sure if it was new in box because in the photos it was only the box so I could be new
Thanks! I just fixed my 2010 Freddy Krueger’s head and the head works perfectly now!
Dope video.
Thanks for the help! 👍
4:01 Looks Like Ice LMFAO
Thank you so very much!!!
Look at all that grease in the mechanism.
That’s why it’s so silent
It'll completely lock the mechanism if it dries
Great job!
Thanks!

I believe most of the 2010 witches have this version of the mechanisim, and I am certain the grave rising witch and skeleton do as well.
That’s why I said most.
@@JaydentheHaunter Oh I suppose I missed that. Still important information regardless.
My Mr Zombody has the belt gear box and I used a 8tooth and it works well

same with my frank the shaft went down. now im kinda mad
Where do you find replacement motors for the Head turn?
I’ve seen some people say that repairing the head turning mech in 5ft dancing skeletons is more difficult than with other lifesizes, is this true? I don’t have much repair experience but really want to repair mine
It kind of is. For him you have to take the body shell off to safely replace it without pushing the pully through the mechanism
What are the specs for the eye motor? Mine appears to be locked up and won’t turn. Thanks. The butler model specifically.
Does anyone know if the Gemmy 2012 Wizard of Oz Witch has the same head turn mechanism shown in this video?
The head doesn’t turn on my dead eye drake 07 model. I replaced the 10 tooth gear, but the gears don’t move. Any ideas?

If he fried then there’s no fixing him
@@JaydentheHaunter I can't even replace it with a new set of wires, jack, and leds?
My jason is being weird the gears are turning but his head in not locking on to the mechanism when you actually try to put the head on help
