CaptainCool07 They adopted the uniform of the old Scottish Lowland regiments, trews instead of kilts. The old Gurkha regiments' Pipers also wore trews. I think the Hong Kong Police DO have their own tartan.
In face, the Hong Kong Police Band's colour is from Sir MacIntosh, who is, already mentioned by James, a lowland Scot. Wearing trousers is the tradition of the Lowlands.
