This group combines a perfect score with professional ability to mix their movements together as in a kitchen bowl swirling the liquids into an unbelievable suspension. The performances are fantastic but the drummer is closest to my interpretation of this now iconic tune. Huzzah!!
the original had a clarinet "To produce the piece, Williams brought in nine jazz musicians, a solo trumpet, two saxophones, a saxophonist who also played clarinet, a Fender Rhodes piano, a Caribbean steel drum, another drum, various percussion instruments, and an ARP synthesizer for the bass."
The farther the microphone is from the stage, the more 'muddy' it will sound, and the more that the microphone will pick up the echoed noises. It'll sound better if the person recording it was closer to the stage. I guess I didn't make my first explanation understandable enough. sorry about that :p
+Jack Rafferty I play the trumpet and to be quieter so you can hear the other instruments you HAVE to put the bell under the music stand you point it closer to the ground
I've played trumpet for 30 years, I learned the basics in 3rd grade, form is one of them. There is not one volume on the trumpet, if you want to play more quietly to sound better in the mix you can.playing at the ground is nothing more then bad form. I'm not sure why people are taking offence to the basic rules of playing Trumpet in a band. I'm sorry you people are so easily offended.
I agree with Jack. And I'm surprised everyone took offense, as he noticed. The best way to prevent yourself from playing obnoxiously loud, as Platinum Eye hinted at? Yeah, that's right... form, technique, breath control. Your diaphragm, that muscle that controls your breathing. Sax player here, for almost 20 years, not as much as you, Jack, but I watched and observed enough to know the basics of trumpet 101, despite being a woodwind. Of course, I played trombone for 3 years, so that's... not quite the same, but same principle - you want to play quiet, you do so with your form. So... please don't comment about techniques you don't know about... Or go observe some legends... Maynard Ferguson, Arturo Sandoval, Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, even Dizzy's puffed cheeks and bent bell - he still played above the "stand" level, as did all of these other legends.
It's not the best arrangement of this, but it was definitely performed very well. Only other thing I can complain about is there is no clarinet. But still, nice job overall.
Awesome arrangement! Not at all anything against the soprano sax player, they were very talented and did great, but I think maybe a clarinet would have fit the sound a little better. I could b totally wrong.

That was great. I think that sets the standard level of which this music should be played.
The later parts of the song sounds like old jazz.. I LIKE IT!

OMG I always wanted to know what the other half of that song was.

How long did if take them to get to the stage ? Geez !!
Joe Can yeah, and the audio quality sucks
b00rak In what way does it suck? It's pure music with no digital edits.
Sylvan Sylvan so what? the recording can't be bad quality w/o deigital edits? i don't understand what you're trying to say

Luke looks great on drums

Trumpets should never be played with the bell below the music stand's top.

+Jack Rafferty We don't serve your kind in here
+Jack Rafferty If you want to be obnoxiously loud then go right ahead.

Great beautiful trumpet improvisation, but uh...now you can't actually here the sweet harmony the soprano, alto, tenor, and baritone are playing.
Saxs come on stage..silence...trumpet comes on stage..immediate clapping.
where did you get the music from?
Hey :) where can I get the arrangement?
Giant guitar.
The word you're looking for is Bass. It is a Bass.
It's like they played in the movie
which soprano is that???????
the guy with the giant gitar, is he even playing?
1:50 play button!
The Alto Sax Is The Best Sounding
1. Tenor is to flat
2.(baritone is huge)
3. baritone you need a flat bed to carry it around.
sheet?
sheldon, is that you?
Pity there's no steel drums. Detracts a bit when you don't have them.
I can do this all by myself...wait..... hold my beer.
it needs more SPECIAL EFFECTS!
Jump to 1:50 for the song
01:54 début

It needs more steel drum!
