  • Camel's Hump is one of the most visited mountains in Vermont. There are designated parking areas at trail heads on Camel's Hump Road on both sides of the mountain. Also, there are parking areas along River Road in Duxbury for the Long Trail. The Monroe Trail parking lot is not plowed in the winter time as the road is very steep. There is parking on Vilcins Rd. near the trailhead during the winter months. Take a left on Vilcins off of Camels Hump Rd. to find the parking lot that does get plowed.
There is a B24 Bomber crash site south of the summit. To get there take the Long Trail south toward the intersection with Alpine Trail. There are signs directing hikers to the site.
The Burrows Trail is a bit shorter and attracts lots of hikers. Always a good idea to get there early on a good weather weekend as the parking lot tends to fill up quick.
The Monroe Trail is somewhat more challenging and longer than the Burrows Trail.
There is also the Dean-South Trail that intersects with the long trail to reach the summit. This trail is difficult and requires climbing over scrambles. It may be too difficult for less experiences climbers.
