I remember when I was going for that achievement in the dlc, where you have to complete it without purchasing any augmentations... And in the latter levels I used a box to sneak right before an armed guard post. I literally picked it and held it in front of them while crouching. That was hilarious but also beautiful in a way. I imagined that that's what MGS of the future was like
Simply put, a fantastic watch, I'm always a sucker for Deus Ex as is, and this was a brilliant excuse to just enjoy a really well put together video, quality of it all is a chef's kiss and deserves more recognition
I did not expect an hour and half challenge video to be this consistently funny and entertaining. Put it on as background watching but ended up constantly distracted. Also would be intrigued to see you try DX:HR again except to see how much you can complete if you very literally kill everyone you come across.
Thanks! Glad you liked the video, It was a massive project to put together. I do like some of the "Kill everyone" challenges, I may return to DX with it, but I need a little bit of a break before i go back

A friend of mine did so and outside of the tutorial areas, there was one part where he couldn't figure out how to get around without using blink. I'd love to see your take on it! Thanks for the amazing videos.
Glad you are enjoying my corner of the internet! Dishonoured without Abilities is definitely a possibility, but I think it might need even more to be properly worthwhile, a couple extra wrinkles onm top of that. Some investigation is needed (But dishonoured IS on my game list to investigate runs)
I just got to the part of the video with the sidemission where you pick up the crossbow, Your rules state "no using items or guns that go to the inventory". You didn't use the crossbow so I would say you completed it and don't need the asterisk
@sirrando To me it was a pretty clear completion. If you had said no picking up anything that would go into your inventory then yeah I'd have say you failed but I get your point. Either way great video! Shame about Malik
I actually just finished my playthrough of this game. Just found your channel and damn you're great at this style of video. For only 12k views with this effort, comedy, and editing standards? Mad bro. Have you considered a video on OG Deus Ex btw? Or maybe MGSV?
@@delta1404 thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it! I have considered the other deus ex games. But because they are longer than what I normally play. I need a bit of a break from them. Mgsv is a difficult game to nail down with an interesting enough challenge to make me go back to it
One thing you missed though, for many of the doors in the game you didn't need to look up the codes at all. Many doors in this game have a durability bar meaning you could destroy them by throwing barrels at them.
@@sirrando very underrated and overlooked mechanic, on my recent playthrough of Human Revolution I found myself breaking doors down just because I didn't have higher level hacking abilities. You could do that in the original Deus Ex as well with the Dragontooth Sword or grenades.
I remember the guns being really overpowered; especially if you can upgrade them, obviously I didn’t play with only them so I wouldn’t know I’m sure some enemies outright require some gear.
This challenge I could feel the pain. Not that it was hard but I feel like it was more tedious if anything. Reminds me of my Shield only run in Skyrim (or my capatin america run.)
It definitely wasn't one of those runs that was bone crushingly difficult, however there were a lot of knowledge checks that took some research and experimentation to get through. which is fun! I like how it varies up the pace between something being barely possible, and figuring out some weird mechanic that makes something work
Hey Sir Rando, random suggestion: Can you do modded Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines in thin-blood style: No vampire powers, blood bags, feeding and stat boosting (research books, items and gained from conversations) This does means you have to skip some quests or drop the items right away, you just play the way with hard cash and experience points, I'd recommend play normal playthrough first to recognize some parts that you are not eligible to take for Thin-Blood run.
@@sirrando Did you try seeing if allowing Takedowns would give you enough of a buffer? I can't really think of anything else the arena gives you to work with
@tarsier8261 from what I remember it's still not feasible because you still have the box mech to deal with and they take longer than 38 seconds even if you're using the exploding barrels
do you say that you are using the arm aug to increase your throwing damage ? beacuse your battery is lowering when you are launching stuff. Still a great vid but i would like an enlightement on this ! thanks in advance !
As far as I can tell, throwing objects doesnt decrease your battery. Its does if you pick up the heavy objects like vending machines etc, but you need to purchase a different augmeent to be able to do that
I myself have done this challenge but with the exception of only allowing myself to use only the stun gun. God is it a struggle. I look forward to watching this when I get off work. Are you planning on attempting it in Mankind Divided?
