I know the times cut into the end of some of the previous songs but to be fair its a mix of them being very close together and a long work week. Im sure you all will appreciate the ability to select a certain track of choice as I do, I did this to the NFS:PU soundtrack and will be doing more in the future. Cheers.

You can play online NFS if you want. Shooting out a solution. And the original devs aren't dead. They're alive, but the NFS IP is definitely owned by a large corporation that won't shake a stick at a tiny $1m project that will only profit them nothing. This is a 16 year old game! Now if the fans made a spiritual successor in a different name. That's another story.

Need for speed High Stakes and Porsche Unleashed will always be my favorites. If only EA would remaster them.

Featuring functional visual modifications and in-depth text based mechanical tuning, it will present to the player both the means and the methodology in which he can customize the vehicle to fit his driving style and sport.
This game is freeware and will be developed in conjunction with the community. Tutorials and guides will be readily available and kept up to date in revisions, always refining our craft to develop things faster and better. You can choose the roles below and even tick if you'd like to volunteer in creating assets for RU.

There is an open source project called OpenNFS
This was the game that helped me discover the "Electronic Art" of electronic music. A true defining moment in my life. I sit her nearly 15 years later experiencing nostalgia & getting chills when some of these awesome tracks play.
For me it was the same but red alert 1 also had one of the best tracks at the time. I would boot up one of these and listen to soundtrack :D

Maybe the business environment is tougher in America? Maybe the higher profit margin to be earned made them change their old ways? Maybe some of the electronic artists making the money got changed out for some greedy investors instead?
I don’t know, but it is kinda funny that EA went slowly but surely to shit after they moved the company to the USA

Man, 39 here. Playing in my auto shop as I install Performance parts on a 2020 Civic Si. I too have had and still have a sports car. I remember playing all these games when they were "new" titles. What a ride its been!!!!!

My first game too! I remember we were going to either pick this game or a nascar game but we chose this one because of the bigger car list. Had no idea what awesomeness I was in for!

I played the original need for speed the most (a true marvel), then got a demo of the very bad NFS2 and never bought it, mistrusted NFS3 because of that flop; then tried NFS4 (this one) and enjoyed it a lot. it has a whole soul to it.
Damn. I remember playing it like it was yesterday back in 1999....

I put my old copy (never sold it) into my PS3 recently and it's STILL a good game. It actually stacks up to many modern racing games amazingly well - the controls are good and it's actually pretty satisfying to drive.
Guys, if you ever get a chance to play this game again, do it. Relive the glorious memories.
This is the first video game I remember playing. it was on my dad's PS1 and I remember the menu music and the cars were so cool. This is definitely an S tier NFS game that I feel not a ton of people know about since it's pre-underground.

Trance/techno was over-rated back then on NFS, however, it's one of the most iconic soundtracks of the history of NFS.

This game is so legendary because these are some of the fastest production cars even still to this day n 2022 and the music went with the pase of the game as a kid you'd grow to love the music and the cars I sit back and thank God blink of eye went from playing to behind the wheel listening to these songs.

RIP Need for speed (1994-2002) best need for speed games created back in the day. Need for speed was the the best racing games created ever until Electronic arts messed the game franchise up with the gangster crap. Us 90's kids had it great I was born in 93 and got to play the earlier more better versions of need for speed before need for speed. I remember me and my family would always play these games all the time and it was so fun I would always have fun racing against my grandfather and winning =].
The first Underground was great. Street racing was just the thing around that time.
Underground has aged like an avocado.
For me, Hot Pursuit 2010 was a return to old school need for speed. Worth a go if you’ve never played it

Сегодня услышал в одном видосе Saki Kaskas - Callista (Showcase Theme) 16:14, и не осознано в голове нфс всплыл) Пошел проверять где я этот трек слышал, так и оказалось, что в этой игре) Не думал что на столько лет этот трек засядет в моем подсознании) Хотя она же играет в ME2, видимо в этом причина.. Эх, двойная ностальгия😢

The nostalgia of these tunes hits hard af. I've listened to them, and various Rom Di Prisco stuff the past decade, really enjoyable stuff. Though i don't recall the game being that rememberable, i played it a lot, and i'd like to play it again someday, but ultimately the music is was the real strong part of this game imo. I've listened to game soundtracks for games i've never played and thought they are amazing, such as Age of Empires 2. Point and anecdotal evidence showing the artists really were and are talented for some of the game soundtracks.

I played this game when I went to my dads ex girlfriends house she had a house in the mountains with a huge front yard and a few old barn houses on either side. Good memories. Ive also played NFS Porsch Unleashed on PC.

One word : passion. So much thought was put in to the game in terms of love of cars and what they represented. Music was a cherry on top that made us all fall in love with driving different cars.

High Stakes best game ever played.
I was 10 or 11 when this game came out, I am from Poland, during that time we played on pirated NES clones or Amiga 500, richer guys had Amiga 1200 or some weak PC. I remember seeing NFS IV being played on a PSX in a small shop with electronics that was on my way home from school, I was like - wtf did I just see O.O Great looking dynamic intro with awesome music, in main menu even more awesome music, with sound quality like on a hi-fi system (sound in Amiga games couldn't compare). I was coming there every day after school, and my jaw kept hitting the floor. I am a metalhead, but I keep coming back to this amazing OST from time to time, also NFS IV and NFS Porsche are the only ones in series that I have completed. I was happy when I heard one song from this OST in Mass Effect 2 :)

found my ORIGIONAL disk yesterday. it ran on the third try on win XP. still have 2SE (wont run) porsche unleashed (disk broke) HP2 (works great) and U2 (on gamecube which i have two of).
thanks, man. I may take you up on that offer. I'm in the middle of transitioning between computers, so i'm still going to check to see if my disk works on Windows 7/8.

Cygnus Rift is unlike anything else I've heard. I used to start the game just so I could hear it. I lived in a valley surrounded by mountains and that loud rumble bass would echo throughout the whole area.
