My mother bought the LP at least 60 years ago -- maybe because we were 4 brothers, no sisters. An Afrikaans familie in Bloemfontein, South Africa. I'm 70.

I am 64 years old n this song is introduced to me by my oldest brother ( his passed away already long time ago) 1976. We played it by guitar. When I hear song of four brother I feel like my brother is present.....

🎶Me too….Sept.26…good music is timeless.
What a beautiful and meaningful song equally wonderfully rendered by the Brothers Four . Hard to get to listen to such soothing songs these days
Fond memories of those times when people seemed to be happy. Thank you.
I have been young and now am old. This song and other reflective ballads bring floods of bittersweet memories, emotions, thoughts. How strange this life the great creator has endowed us with. For the fullest meaning of existence come to him, read his book the Bible and follow the instructions to bow before the son he sent. Life is meant to be lived toward him.
Excellent, eventually it’s very meaningful!
Amém

Thank you Frank for the beautiful comment. This is one of the most sumptuous pieces of music ever written and these singers do it justice.
Frank Jennings, I bet you are only old on the outside. The mind is young still. Your words are correct. Folks who want the best life they can have will ONLY find it in Jesus Christ. 😊🙏🏻💜
these old great songs still sing in my heart
I was eight in 1960. First time when I heard this song, tears came up to my eyes. I was a little thin Japanese boy. I couldn't understand the words but I surely felt very sad. I still listen to this song.
😙😊
I was 5
I was 8 too.
I wanted to write the same thing
I also had 8! And I love this song performed by the brother s four

어릴 때 부터 당신들의 음악을 듣고 자랐는데 나도 어느 듯 제법 나이가 들었네요. 건강하시기를 항상 바랍니다. from Ulsan in south korea
I had my newborn child 3 days ago, a lovely lil girl. I've been singing her this song whenever she needs to be calmed 🥰🥰🥰 She did calmed down though.

As someone who just turned the age of 70, well, I can relate in such a meaningful way to this song. The Brothers Four were a fantastic group of very talented musicians and performers. God bless them and God bless us all.

Music is life Music gives us healthy feelings closest to our environmental natural life living
Rai things were simpler then.
Since I was a child, living in the interior of Minas Gerais (Brazil), I saw my father listening or even humming these songs. Today, they are part not only of history, but of people's souls. It brings longing, peace, breath! (Agnelo Neto-Jornalista)
Sou de Minas também (Muzambinho). Não tenho a sua mesma história em termos de conexão com esse grupo. Mas o Mineiro sabe o q é bom, e o que é bom... Sempre chamará o mineiro. Abraços!
Thanks to The Brothers Four for this beautiful song
The Brothers Four were one of the amazing groups we had. The folk music was beautiful. I am a lot older now but those were my happiest days sitting in a coffee house and listening to folk music.🥰

I had been living in a different country for 2 years when I heard this song. Made me long for the honmeland as I wanted the familiar things I had grown up with to be around me once again.
To Mark: The Alamo is my husband's favorite movie, and this song is my all-time favorite! We grew up in the 60's in Southern California. Thanks for bringing so much joy to generations of people with your music, you have a true gift! Love you lots! Blessings to you and your group!

I never saw the movie but I heard this beautiful haunting song when I was a youngster, possibly 60 years ago. I still love it and makes me think of young innocent years back home playing with my schoolmates during recess times. What memories it evokes even now. Thank you for keeping it alive😍

안녕하세요! 반갑습니다!!! 좋습니다!!! GOOD!!!
I first heard this classic song about 1974, when I was 7. I grew up and became a cinephile, fan of classic movies too, especially John Wayne's ones and westerns. Now, I am remembering this track is from The Alamo. Excellent!
The song reminds me of my childhood.
God they took me back to my teens, it felt so good to my ears, mind u I am 70 years old
Old songs are complete package to reminisce the past. Still love listening to it. Though many new songs are composed still it cannot match the meaningful messages of old songs.
I love this song as i get older..but who did they get to put the lyrics on RUclips dear oh dear.🙂
It was good to be young then, to be close to the earth...
STILL ONE of the great songs in 2019.

My siblings and I as babes, toddlers to young children and adults were so lucky to grow up with this music of the classic era of the 60's to the 80's. I wish we can turn back the hands of time or if we have a time machine just in this age of technology I will definitely jump in!!
