Thank you mate. Shit gets really repetitive these days when it comes to fitness content and bodybuilding influencers. I can't even watch most of it these days. If there're any topics you'd like to see me explore, let me know. Cheers again from the kind comment
@@carvedouttastone At our age we need something insightful, and you are clearly a man of introspection and wisdom. In terms of the fitness industry, I think there is a huge untapped market for over 40s/50s health/excercise/diet that doesn't include TRT, lifting heavy and HIT. My friend is still trying to get me back into crossfit. And i'm like dude i'm 48 and need something more sustainable.. BTW, cow heart was delish, but sheep heart smelt too gamey for me😅. Will remember to drop another coffee for you next payday👍
@@armagansabetian5269 oh HUGE apologies mate. I didn't know that you had purchased me a coffee on that site because they never sent me notification. I adjusted my bank account details and they sent me your kind gift. I can't thank you enough for doing that! Really appreciate the kind gesture more than you could know right now 🙏♥️👍
@carvedouttastone would love to hear you thoughts/vid on the 1980 Olympia. As well as Over The Edge by David Shaw since he talked about being at the Opera house to watch the show. A fascinating era of Aussie bodybuilding culture (before my time) when it was truly underground.
As always a fascinating probe into the cult-like lifestyle of bodybuilding. 👏👏 I remember this doco of Louis’s, very well done indeed! The Shmoe cult is even more curious, which I assume you’ll delve into in the next video?🤔 Looking forward to Part II!! 👍🤩
Thanks for that great feedback CW. Yes, more.about the infamous world of schmoes next installment pertaining to Theroux's investigation of the female perspective. Pre Internet commerce, seemed like the sole avenue open to female bodybuilders not wanting to work the regular 9-5. A fact I'll detail that contains equal parts irony and tragedy. Thanks always for your support 🙏🙌♥️
I remember the documentary and thinking what bizarre peole inhabit Golds. Grundy on the whole does present himself well, but there is that section where he loses his shit. I also suspect the accuser of ped usage but not to the same degree. It really grated and he explains himself later as everyone thinking he is a moron for pursuing the lifestyle. Also the way that Grundy is driven around in the back of the car like a giant good natured toddler, seemed to suggest he lacked agency.
I believe Grundy to have lots of agency and drive to achieve the success he had and the willingness to move to America to pursue his dream. It may well be that the commoditiasion of talent that appears strange to me. Best wishes to Grundy.
Thanks Jordan. Bit out of left-field this one. Maybe most people aren't familiar with the episode, but I enjoyed it enough to review. Let me know what you think. Cheers again always for your support
Those before and after photos really show the reality of how powerful PEDs really are. I always assumed that without genetics PEDs will only take you so far but when i look at Nick Walker its like the guy had probably trained naturally for a few years and still looked like he never really even lifted to becoming a top 10 bodybuilder in tHe world. Its like he swallowed and injected anything and everything that would make him bigger. Unfortunately his body is not in any way appealing. Masx monsters like cCutler and Dorian at their best still had decent shape and proportions but toomany guys these days lack these attributes.
Yeah the before and afters hit home because it's.a stark reminder that it's not the training, the food or the supplements that's changed. It's the drugs - and for the pros to comment with the ridiculous assertion that they're just the icing on the cake is a ridiculous affront to the rest of the fans who by now know better
10:39 What a blast from the past is Guy Grundy still alive. I was fortunate enough to know Guy Grundy back in the early 80's when likes of him Lee Priest trained at the same gym. Guy Grundy use to get sledged but to his credit despite selling his undies he was a good sport and had thick skin. Lee Priest the ultimate sledger use to always get one up on Grundy. Lee had a real gift of the ❤gab ,Grundy, me & ors were always at the pointy end of Lee's sledge we copped heaps. To this day Grundy, Priest stay in my mind as two of our small group where we were at the gym to train but had plenty of laughs along the way . This video made me remember why these Halcyon days were some of the best days of my life In addition 10:39 also in this era a few guys who were just starting to get big I they died from PED's and other drugs

Great video mate. I’ve followed Grundy on social media for years and he’s still living the LA “dream”.
We were talking about doing an interview together, because he has a new book coming out. Thanks for the comment and watch mate.

Awesome video!! Love Louis Theroux
Definitely a trail blazer - interesting to see his evolution over the years.
9:37 Yeesh! That's pretty bad gyno.
I'll ask him about it in our upcoming interview;-)
