Silhouette Studio Business Edition Allows you to export as a PNG, SVG, JPEG, and PDF! Compare BE features to other free and paid upgrades: www.silhouetteschoolblog.com/2017/07/silhouette-studio-upgrade-features-list.html
I learned that you can do it from the print window when you hit print and option will pop up for you to look at the print preview and you can export as a PNG but no transparent background.
Is there a way to make Silhouette Studio default to saving as 300 dpi and with a transparent background. It would save me a lot of time if I didn't have to change these settings every time I save a PNG.
@@SilhouetteSchool Thanks...I didn't think so. I went through all of the settings and couldn't find it. I contacted Silhouette support about this same question and they advised me to downgrade my software to an earlier version. LOL Not sure how that would help.
Please help! I can not find an answer. When I change my dpi or my pixels, all 3 arrows move together. At 150 dpi my png gets saved as 1800x1800 pixels. I can not change the 1800x1800 to read 5200x5500 lets say with 150 dpi.
I love silhouette studio. I have been using it for years and I’m very good at it. When using it to make professional files one thing I have to say is that it doesn’t truly save it as 300 dpi the file itself looks like 300 dpi but if you pull it up in Photoshop it’s actually saved at 72 dpi. I’m not sure why and I’ve tried many times to figure it out like by going in the settings and checking to make sure the setting is set to 300 dpi and it is. If you put it side-by-side with the true 300 dpi file you can’t tell the difference but when you pull up the image size it is always stating it 72 dpi. Do you have a fix for this?
Yess, exactly my situation! I need to be able to send an image with 300dpi for custom DTF's and it only saves as 72dpi when I check directly after it is saved as 300dpi. I have tried resizing to all sizes down to itty bitty and its 72dpi every time. I have been looking for an answer as I need to figure this out. Please update if you figure out a solution. My computer, software, Studio... everything has been updated and I have business edition.
I am seeing this too! I actually get a warning in ProRip that the image is low quality after I explicitly exported at 300 dpi. I contacted Silhouette and they recommended a downgrade to an earlier version. Did that and still see the problem. Very frustrating!
i cant get my files to export in png in the correct size dpi. Mine only goes up to 167 and then the size is off when I open file in another program. I tried installing so many different versions of the software. Any help?
My silhouette studio business edition no longer gives me the png and 300 dpi option. It did two weeks ago. I'm running out of time to submit a design to production. What do I do?
Hey there, I'd check to make sure that your license key is still applied. Go to the top bar and click "Silhouette Studio" then "about Silhouette Studio" and see if the box pop up says Business Edition. If it doesn't, log out and log back in to your library.
Ok I’m back sorry :) I just purchased the business addition I kind of got the hang of it I’m trying to save one of my files as a PNG with a transparent background I did everything you said but when I emailed it to a customer who bought my design . They said he still has a white background could you please help me
Please reply ❤ I have to original cameo cutter the first one and still using the first software 😬😬 will it work on that as well? Or what do I need to do ? Please help I need it asap
I'm wanting to start selling PNG download files on etsy. Every time I hit save and adjust to 300dpi. When I open the image it looks great, but the photo info states its only 72dpi. I've tried several different sizes, but it always says its 72dpi which worries me if I'm selling a product
Is your computer on dark mode? Because the background will show the color of whatever program you're previewing the image in. Try opening it back up in Silhouette Studio to see if there is still a background.

@@SilhouetteSchool if the design is clearly a rectangle why does it only let you use "square" dimensions? Your pixels were 2 different ranges. Exactly. In studio even though setting to 300 dpi it actually only makes it to 72 dpi. What is the fix for this?

I’m showing the price as $99.99 for buisness edition. Is there a code?
Silhouette America increased the lowest minimum price Business Edition can be sold for to $99 so you won't find it lower.

There was a software version that had that bug, so I would suggest changing versions of SS and then try to re-export as a transparent PNG.

It may be a bug in the software version you are using, try going back to an older version and trying to save from there.
My save as for being th .png and .jpeg isn’t working. Why?

You may need to update your software. This was released in V4.4 at some point I don't recall the exact version off the top of my head

This is probably due to the size in pixels when you export. For reference, 6 inches with 300 DPI is about 1800 pixels.
