This was super useful thanks.. still learning and subdivision/VOXI remeshing/Decimating are still things i need to get my head around. Just want to say thanks for all these videos.. rare to see this kind of quality without someone trying to make a fast buck out of you.. so big thanks for that. Would love to see you create a charachter and end up 3D Printing it.. thats mostly my interest. cheers from the UK
Thanks so much Don, I appreciate the kind words!! I really enjoy making the videos and it helps me to learn as well, having to process things a bit deeper and working through the mess ups and snags. I’m looking forward to diving into 3D printing, I know it’s going to be quite the can of worms. Of course I’ll be recording all of that too when it happens! 💯👍🏾
Hey, Dave! Just found your channel after starting with Nomad. Amazing art and fantastic tutorials! Thank you for these. I am really struggling to understand the difference between voxel remeshing and decimate. Do you only use remesh for up-resing? Why not use voxel remesh for down-resing? Is there a difference? Also - *Why* use the rounded edge brush when decimating? I understand that it “helps” with the process but what does it help? Any insight you could provide would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks for the vid. I guess you would decimate only once ur done sculpting or can you keep going? My problem is once I decimate, small details are retained, but then if I want to keep sculpting, I need to remesh, but remeshing will lose the details if I don’t set it really high which then makes it hard to not crash…
It could be something wrong with the file.. hard to say. Import a nomad project into another project? What size are the project, or what size is the project you are able to open?
How do I fix it if I didn’t know about decimation at first and I’ve acculamated a lot of poly counts so it crashed and now whenever I open it it crashes. Emergency pls it has a school project inside 😢
Hmm, maybe restarting the iPad/closing anything else that uses ram! I had the issue once, I opened a new project and then imported the other project into it (something to that effect). Also, join the nomad fb group or discord and try to get some more suggestions as well. If all else fails maybe someone else can open it for you? What iPad model/ram size do you have?
your videos are freaking clutch man! Thanks for pumping out so much great content! It's super helpful.

Hi I wanted to ask if you know what I should do when I try to import another work to one of my files it keeps on crashing

Is the iPad mini 6 any good for advanced 3D work considering the Ram and screen size?
The pros struggle with advanced 3D even, but for basic things I’m sure it’s ok!
So trash lol wasted my time
Thanks for the view and the engagement! 🍋
