I have already used the same method in this way, but in my opinion there is an even better variant to create a posable base mesh in no time. Instead of the Curve repeater, I now only use the normal tube tool with an X Division 4 and a post subdivision 2 for the body limbs.
The body limbs become more beautiful. The legs / arms can also be mirrored and the symmetry preserved. You are also not forced to make a remesh at some point. For tails, the method with the curve repeater still makes sense. I'll make a video of my variant soon.

Absolutely. I mentioned that right at the start of the video. I just did a dragon with the tube tool rather than this way. It’s all good learning

Thanks Glenn. Great video as always! It takes me ages to block out the anatomy, so this will really speed things up.

is there a way in NOMAD to add an armature to the mesh so I could pose?
(I still have to import the NOMAD-mesh into BLENDER for the posing)

gotta love that they "improve" these apps constantly so I cant find "group" that he uses or "repeater". good job guys. You're also blasting through this one not showing where stuff is very well. Thanks for all the free training of course though.

That would be great but it has limited memory, especially non pro version iPads.

Asking for too much. Nomad is exclusively for sculpting. Best we can get is a primitive posing tool for renders.

I have to say, this is singlehandedly the best method I have seen for creating a base model for sculpting in Nomad Sculpt. I saw ZBrush, and its ZSpheres, and wished something similar was available in Nomad Sculpt. Of course, here is SouthernGFX, the absolute LEGEND with a tutorial for just that! Thank you!
Both unfortunately and fortunately, this led me to frustration and then a learning opportunity when I realized the difference between triangles and quads... I hadn't realized what 'Decimate' truly did, and I didn't know that most workflows involve having to create a retopology. Thanks to you, I have confidence that I can create a retopology easily, as shown in the Instant Meshes video. And I no longer fear the loss of detail, since I learned about 'Reproject', projecting the old detailed mesh onto the new retopology! Man, digital sculpting is so cool.
Overall, I am just so thankful for your channel as a resource. If I'd known all this at the start, I could have saved myself so many headaches.

I just got the Poseit app. I love it to make poses, you can make your own sized maniquins in the paid part. I’ve gotten so many poses I’ll be sculpting it was so easy to get ahead of myself and say, wow.. I have a lot lot more to sculpt than I had planned

    really interesting.
what I usually do for human character, is using a mannequin app to give a pose to a 3d mannequin, and import it in Nomad. but your method is really good for non human creatures :)

wow! glen, i've only just started my journey with 3d modeling (as it started just with me needing a drawing reference) but these videos are so, so helpful! i have a question regarding this curve tool technique-i actually already modeled a character, but am wondering if i could somehow do the same posing method with the model, rather than repeating spheres. in short, is it possible to apply a model over a repeating-sphere skeleton?

I was following along and when you hit repeater and curve you got a tool bar pop up. Mine doesn’t do this is it hidden somewhere or do you click on something not seen in the video?

I do use poseit all the time. I was thinking about none standard creatures really and of course, there are always lots of ways to do something. Exploring and experimenting is where we learn the most I find.
