Where u r fishing there is called lytton rocks cutting, which was dynamite blasted to deepen the river back when ships were travelling up as far as newstead and before that up to where Howard smith wharf is now.The rocks go right across the river and disappear under the buildings where the tugs tie up now.Its been a favourite spot for jew for many years.

That’s an interesting bit of history. Amazing how much the shape and depth of the river has been altered over the years.

You’re welcome mate. She gets rippin through there at times, I’ve normally gotta use a 3/4 ounce jig head just to feel the bottom 😅

@@TroyBamberry thanks mate. The rivers been fishing well lately.
As for set ups I would definitely recommend the combo I use as far as specs go. Definitely can do more of a budget version than I run. A reasonable budget swap out I would go is like a 3000 size daiwa freams paired with an atomic arrows 6-12pb estuary 7 foot rod. All up that’d be around that $300-$400 price range. You could still definitely go more budget than that, but this set up will allow you to feel the lures you’re working and still handle threadys and Jew just fine.
