This game's trophy list tested my level of commitment as a trophy hunter and I can honestly say this was an experience I wont soon forget. Every single trophy hunter knows that feeling - getting that one extremely hard trophy/game requirement. From then on you just know the Plat is yours no matter what. I've experienced it about 4 times and the feeling is exhilarating: Silent hill 2 10 star run screen, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Unearthed trial 4 pass, DMC 5 Mission 8 no hit defeating Urizen phrase 1 and DMC 4 Passing Trish bloody Palace.
This was such a great experience watching live!
Now with this video I could relive all of that again. Congrats on the platinum, you smashed it! :)
I missed a small little clip that I was looking forward to be added to the final video, but sadly it wasn't...I'm talking about the Kolin fight, where you were almost at gold rank but lost to her two times in a row and raged so hard that I thought that the screen will break in two. xD

I’ve discovered after years of playing- rank isn’t a display of skill, it’s a display of grinding the game nonstop. Yes, you will run into horrible players who don’t deserve their rank, but at the end of the day, they’ll run into someone just as bad or worse than them, fueling their ego and boosting their rank. I’ve also played with rookies and bronze players who play like diamond ranks and they absolutely annihilate me. I used to think before the match started and it showed the opponents fighter card, “oh man, they’re level 300 and have 3000lp, no way I’ll win.” But sure enough, I do. So, remember everyone, especially in fighting games… rank is NOT a display of skill, it’s a display of grinding.

It’s actually wild how hard ranked was at the end of SFV.
I barley got to super bronze but when SF6 came out I hit platinum after a few weeks.
The win streak bonuses are just wild and you shoot up the ranks.

You’ve earned it dude, I’ve just started recently playing after a few years to prep for 6 and part of me wants to go for the plat but the more I looked at the trophies, the more I think I’d probably have a more fun time in the world lethwei championship with zero fighting experience.
haha completely understandable, reaching gold is the highlight of this trophy list and definitely something to be proud of but all the other trophies are pretty meh tbh. Not necessarily worth it unless you're crazy about trophies like me.
@@GawdlikeMatt my rage spikes happen fast especially when I spend a solid while practicing only to get into a match a forget everything I learn it’s even worse when I pop off the first round and then proceed to just brain fog and throw it all away I feel like I took a green goblin pumpkin bomb to the face irl when that happens.
@@-1000_damage Definitely don't go for this platinum. There are plenty of great games with far easier platinums, you'll thank your sanity in the long run. And you won't have as many white hairs on your head.

Dude the Catharsis from watching this. Seeing someone get out of Bronze and be facing the same matchmaking woes as me and a Canadian to boot! I'm still hard stuck Bronze. I've gotten so close to Silver but never made it but this makes me want to keep trying. Fantastic video beginning to end and I can't wait to see more in SF6.

it's such an important factor that I only really developed in my later life. 10 Years ago I couldn't have achieved half the difficult platinums I have now.

I finally reached Gold Rank after watching this video. After causally playing SFV since 2019 I've decided to actually play rank so I try to platinum this game before I get on SF6. It was an annoying road to gold, but felt rewarding in the end. Now I just need 300 wins on ranked and $1M Fighting Money to get the Platnuim trophy.

This video really inspired me to see if I can reach gold in August 2024. I also used Ed from super bronze to gold. Once I learned more or less on how to use Ed I reached silver in 3 days and then gold 6 days after. I kept coming back to this video when I felt like I might get stuck.

Ngl I’m finishing up the platinum trophy for this game rn. Just did the gold rank trophy with Juri and the 1,000,000 FM. Now I’m doing the 50 replays. Getting to Gold was easy but it’s like you said-all the resources players have makes some silver fights feel like platinum fights lol

Congrats on the plat as a Nash main since day one i know he's been through some ups and downs. But since Vskill 2 was added it made a lot of difference maybe try Ultra Street fighter 4?
Honestly by the end of my journey i realized i couldve gotten to gold with nash if i had more patience. Most of my struggle came from being a bad player but i wanted to pin the blame on something so i blamed nash. Even if i am right about how he used to be a much better character i truly believe you can reach gold with any character if you try hard enough.... His anti air options still suck ass tho 😂
As for street 4 as much as i would love to own that platinum i dont think i ever will, its way too fuckin hard

@@GawdlikeMatt Mad respect for Street Fighter V, will never get that platinum. Your anger, frustration and sheer satisfaction are unparalleled compared to any other platinum I saw you get in the many livestreams I watched.
Sadly with the PS5/PS Premium you cannot get the Metal Gear Solid 2 platinum because of those pressure sensitive controls. I'm going for those VR missions right now and let me tell you, I can visualize a Street Fighter V breakdown dejavu with you as I'm working on them. It's considered a 9 out of 10 in difficulty and it is not for the faint hearted. It's one of the toughest PS3 era games I'm going for.

I have this platinum for years and now it is easier to get. The hell mode survival now has save and load option. When I got the trophy those options didn't exist, they were implemented later in an update.

i'm 11 minutes in...and the way Matt drags his words towards the end of his sentences are painful on the ears and reminds me of a drunk frat guy or drunk sorority girl in a new york pizza place...
additionally his disgusting comments on chun-li's costume was not only old, unfunny, inappropriate, and mood killing but also just a sad excuse for being trash after only a few hours of practice with a new character overall.
i originally came to this video so that i can see some sfv be played before the sf6 deadline as i am doing myself, with the addition of plating the game was a cool concept as well...but Matt as i said, i'm 11 minutes in.......11.....and this video in my opinion is already a disaster....i'll be leaving a dislike.

First of all I didn't make Chun li, some guy hired by Capcom did, what I can't appreciate a work of art? truth is what Chun li is wearing is irrelevant, there's a reason she's one of the most beloved female characters in all of gaming. You can buy individual characters. The in game store has two options for each character, one to purchase with fight money and the one below it to buy with real money.

Honesty it was harder to get that trophy when the game first released. You would have had to fight some of the most cracked sf players in ranked at the time. My match with gentleman thief still haunts me that guy mixed me up so much i was cake batter.

Yo congrats, I'm on the same journey too. The path to gold for me though has been significantly longer though, I was hard stuck bronze with Guile and Balrog. However I switched to Bison and have climbed to super silver recently and hoping I achieve Gold as well. I think it's crazy you got Gold before even playing 300 matches, I have 4,500 ranked matches and never hit Gold (oof). I need to learn to actually combo lmfao.
Haha people keep telling me theyre impressed with how fast i hit it but i find the biggest thing that was preventing me was my mental game. Once i recognized that i made an effort to keep improving and it became seemless. Best of luck on getting gold dood! If i can do it so can you

I literally returned to SFV 6 years later after dropping it 2 months after the release to try for the platinum because of you man. I’m close to getting it. I just need 300 wins with ex moves/CA’s, beat extreme survival, and win 300 matches. But I do have a question about the 300 wins… Does the straight wins and normal wins count towards the 300 win total? I have like 198 and the grind hurts when RE4 is coming out 😔
a win is a win as long as it was in ranked battle it counts towards the 300. Also best of luck dood! it means so much to hear that I inspire others like you to do things that make you proud you got this!

I’ve been on a trophy and achievement myself lately, just recently did the mass effect trilogy old and new and the dead space trilogy, now I gotta do the dis remake and the re4 remake next, I know it’ll be hell
I'm in that spot yoyoing between super and ultra silver, The gold players are so much better it's really tough to gain enough momentum to break through. I've had moments where I doubt Akira but no way am I swapping to a stronger character I know she can get the job done.
