I would definitely find the right bumper. You can often find a genuine unpainted one and get it painted. Keep looking on eBay one in colour will come up. Cover up the engine ECU with a bag when you’re squirting water under the bonnet. You could fry it.

Those bumpers are rare to find, just the plastic trims cost over £150 to buy on eBay
