That's the best "real" Nurburgring drive in an old classic that I've seen - a real sense of speed, drama, understeer/oversteer all in a tricky car to master. Well done. I thoroughly enjoyed the drive.
wow, that is one very experienced 911 driver. He was catching all sorts of oversteer constantly...even multiple times mid-corner. Lightning fast hands....he corrects AND recovers so quickly.
DAYUM ....I enjoyed watching that, how much more fun was driving that Porsche ...you put that baby right at the limit and kept it cool .....nice driving homey..
Ooooh its an extasys of emotions that fron nervous. The getrag gearbox and the old time sounds, thats why i get hooked on 911 s for life , timeless beauty
I like your driving! Looks like it aint the 1st time you drive the Nurburgring, damn that track is bumpy. Nice car by the way, like the Porsches reliability, sound, dynamics and the smoothness of it...
Simple bloke with a mullet in a 70´s 911! Great driving as well! No regrets! great! Hit like under the video (not my stupid comment) for him to stay with the Porsche and the mullet till death which will hopefully be on his 100´s birthday!
I have watched this video many times. It is very inspiring. Im not sure he is actually driving the absolute best way but he certainly makes me ask myself how I would have driven that and that place. He has a very sharp turn-in (Alonso at Renault-like) which tends to promote understeer but he is also very decisive, sure and committed. Certainly a very very good driver, most probably better than me. The video also makes me wonder the differencies between the 3.0 and my 996 because I think in some places my car would behave a bit differently. This car seems to require straight braking and induced understeer, ”tension” with traction where as my car seems to tolerate quite a lot of more trailing as long - as you start to open up early.
Amazing driving skills. I would Like to know more about the technical specifications of the car. Like modification of the suspension, tires and engine. The Car looks very well sorted on the track.
Yes, yes, yes, another proof that the BHP under the egine cover is only of second importance to crazy trained driver behind the steering wheel. 😎😎😎. Pure joy, thank you!
used to own a 1977 Carrera 3.0 and i took it to its limit on a straight and empty motorway at 250 km/ph. In fact the needle if you can trust it went past the 250 marker knocking on the 260 door. anything over 200 you cant do for long for you have to concentrate so much its almost it tires you out in no time and of course not to mention dim wits on the Autobahn who then decide to change lanes all of a sudden with out indicating. There is none of that here but the Nurnburgring punished you in other ways and spits you out if you make a mistake .
@@robertmanfredthurrigl9424 Agree. I can run 230 in my mx5 nb on the Autobahn and it feels like above 270 in my old RS6. Tiny nimble cars are most fun to drive.
Εxcellent driving skills! Is the extra speedometer kind of optimistic in terms of kph, or the gearbox is modified? Seems that second gear is to long, reaching 110km/h, if it is a 5 speed 915...
Really nice driving 👍 This man knows his machine! 🤗 And damn, that old Porsche accelerates hard from 160 and up, even from pretty low rews - is it a RS or a Turbo..?
I guess it's an SC 3000 (180 or 188 hp) or pretty much unlikely a Carrera 3.0 200 hp. Good torque, trucklike reliability,a responsive steering and remarkable economy as well:a true sporty daydriver whatever the version.
Might you give us some speed about your car ? 911 3.0 1977 - SC 180 hp or Carrera 3.0 ? Exciting video and decent skill, just may I suggest wearing a helmet when pushing your 911 on track days !
Looked like fun he was only in over his head a few times and fortunately saved it.. surprised he didn’t trail brake into a few situations.. would have had less off throttle snap over-understeer
the man took this car to its limit and ran it the way it was intended. excellent driving sir..
When men drove cars with no underwear and only had there hair to guide them
Don't know what I enjoyed more, the 1977 Porsche 911 or the 1977 haircut
Foxtrot Mike Lima 😂👊🏻.
They still wear the mullet in Germany (it’s the law)
@@michaelwest7874 hehe
:D
Nah this was from the 1970's

RtB68 ruclips.net/video/tzx3zxW-5So/видео.html The Walter ;-)
Oh man! Walter just kills it. That track scares the shit out of me and he drives it like a bad-ass when it's wet. That's serious balls.
Search for the lap of the Ruf CTR1 "Yellowbird"

Sensational driving in a car with 0 electronics!!! Just superb driving. Love how many modern Porsches he over takes!
For all we know there's an instructor with a "student" in those Porsches. Check back after the newbie learns the circuit.
modern tyres, modern brake discs/pads, 100% modern springs or dampers... its not like he is driving the real `77 deal.
A true connection between car and driver,
Excellent sensibility - Intuition - amazing Porsche
Please add more
Keep on safe extreme car dancing!
He even has a matching mullet!
Love the sound of the air cooled engine. Excellent driving skills!
I love how the passage hold the door handle so tight,
The whole time 😄
Huahahaha
One of the best driver's videos I've ever seen, wow!
Excellent driving. I laughed when you passed the modern 911 so quickly
DAYUM ....I enjoyed watching that, how much more fun was driving that Porsche ...you put that baby right at the limit and kept it cool .....nice driving homey..
My gosh that was thrilling he knew the track well and drove fantastic
For me this 911 is the most iconic one. Great lap.
Greatness of analog car as 911 always was.Big respect for driver .
great car, great track, great driving!
Kenny Powers is on point! This is probably the best Nürburgring video I have watched in recent years. Doing more with less is always more fun.
Almost thought it wasn't 911 til 3:06
yep it's 911, classic
This driver knows how the handle the real stuff. Excellent.
Every time I see this video, I fall in love with air cooled 911 all over again.
I love the drive. Well Done.
Ive gone back to watch it again....I'm convinced that the induced oversteer at 3:05 was intentional to negotiate that chicane. Very cool.
Impressed by the car the sound and the driving. He makes it look easy!!
Nice driving! And that baby Porsche seems to be in good shape, too. Congrats!

Solid drive in my fave classic! I no longer deserve to own one!! respect bro!
I keep coming back to watch this excellent driver in one of my favourites car
excellent driving and reading the car taking almost the best as possibile
What a great driver, quick hands is key
His passenger could holder the door handle any tighter ,Great driving,
Excellent drive! And yes, the passenger pooped his pants, the moment it happened he put up his finger.
Incredible car and driving skills 👍☺️
Excellent driving , perfect 911 driving
SUPERB driving skills!
Great old school driving, loved the video!
This is someone who trusts their car
look at those delicate A pillars. No roll cage. Fantastic driving.
What a driving lesson i just took! last time i saw a G series driven like that it was the Ruf Yellowbird.
Amazing driving skills. I would Like to know more about the technical specifications of the car. Like modification of the suspension, tires and engine. The Car looks very well sorted on the track.
What a beast! I love this video.
I love the sound so MUCH! And guys i swear my dad also haves this porsche.
Im a carguy now, my dad has the Targa version. Still happy tho
Great drive. I am convinced now to take mines, on that track.
3:04 excellent driving 🔥 that's when regular car drivers lose it
The Driver definitely has some serious skills.
Awesome driving skills.
This guy shredded the ring , so cool !
Wow this dude passed the GT3s like they are hondas!
Nice. Reminded me a bit of the RUF Yellowbird video from years and years ago, minus a bit of sideways action of course :)
Yes, now painted in green ;-)
real man driving
Great driving, and a wonderful car! Very quick acceleration. This is a 3.0 Carrera, with 200 hp?
very very good driving
excellent driving ! thats what car should be all about !
amazing driving! im curious to know the tranmission used on the car? (still a 915?)
Sunday mornings in my C3 on Mingus Mountain in Arizona. The car gives the thrills and a sweat inducing workout. Great driving, Sir!
no gloves. did this so casually. the man knows the track
Damn, that's some good videoquality for 1977!
klaas klapsigaar the car might be from 1977 but the video isn’t. Lots of those cars he passed were from the 90s.
At 4:29 he appears to pass a relatively modern day 911
That's quick. Good driving with such a tricky car.
Yes, yes, yes, another proof that the BHP under the egine cover is only of second importance to crazy trained driver behind the steering wheel. 😎😎😎. Pure joy, thank you!
After the first oversteer correction, the passenger griped that door handle with conviction.
Pablo Escobar doing European delivery of his new 911. Man that guy can drive!
Seriously good driving, thanks for sharing this video
sick car. awesome driving.. look like pro and lots of ring laps
nice driving. you worked it. very impressive.
With my headphones on it felt like I was in the car
Ce Monsieur est un as du volant. On peut lui mettre entre les mains toutes les Porsche 911, réputées délicate à piloter sur route. Je suis épaté.
After watching Isle of man on YT it is nice to see something that goes slow.
Well, this is going in my favorites.
- What level of difficulty you want?
- Yes...
This was with winter tires ? I would have never guessed. Thats probably more like Hankook Ventus R-S2
Awsome lap.respect
You do not more than 200 hp to have fun. Atleast not in a porsche!

That's a Europ 3.0, not a SC. They have more power. 200hp won't get you from 50-100 that quickly. That car has been tuned.
@@acalthu Every G body 3.0 is an SC though
@@Dexterrrrrrrrrrrrr no Sir. The SC started in '78 with 180 hp, this is a Carrera 3.0 with 200 hp.
very, very good driving... i have a similar car & most certainly would not be able to pull that off..
Fantastic driving, good job drive 👍🏻👍🏻
one of the masterpiece car in the world
Looks like an early 90s video with the old Porsche and driver's hairstyle (except for 1080p of course :D)
Andranik Ghazaryan there cars from 2011 in the video
Young James May!
I felt like I was in the passenger...
Brilliant Driver!
Fantastic ! This car has only 200 hp (Carrera 3.0) and no power steering and no electronic driving aids.
Εxcellent driving skills! Is the extra speedometer kind of optimistic in terms of kph, or the gearbox is modified?

That sweet mullet works as stabilizer.

@indigoblue555 yes a Carrera 3.0 since it is a '77. The SC came out the next year in '78
Great driving!
Sounds like teeth rattling in the old Scooby Doo cartoons.........anyhow great driving, nice vid!
Excellent driving like it should !

Excellent driver! 👍
I'm a big fan of 930. It's a car you steer with your right foot
Just beautiful.
Looked like fun he was only in over his head a few times and fortunately saved it.. surprised he didn’t trail brake into a few situations.. would have had less off throttle snap over-understeer
great driving !!!
WOW awesome drive, i was really getting the feeling i was driving that car haha ( I WISH!! ) chickenskin ,Respect!!!
Nice heeltoe action
Super driving skills! ... and BTW, thats not a 930 turbo car, as it has 5 speed instead of 4, and it clearly dont show the turbo boost pick up.
