Bassoon Reeds - Kostas Vavalas

A step by step process on how bassoon reeds are made,
presented in a brief photo-story.
We manufacture high quality Bassoon reeds choosing the best pieces of cane of famous brands such as Rigotti, Glotin, Rieger etc. by measuring its hardness and density.
Every Bassoonist knows how important and crucial are these two cane's parameters of density and hardness for Bassoon reed making. Together with the detailed cane's processing and the reed construction, they are the ones that will determine the final brilliant sound result of the Reedenuto's Bassoon reeds for every's Bassoonist need.
The reed making process begins immediately after ordering. The Blanks stay long enough on the drying Board to dry, and then are played and tested many times until they are ready to shipped.
Reedenuto's Canes and Reeds are also very carefully cleaned and disinfected.
Through this sorting process, the professionally manufacturing, years of experience in reed making and Bassoon playing we make reeds that can be played by soloists, orchestra musicians and beginners as well.
