Lyrics:
I can feel a new expression on my face
I can feel a glowing sensation taking place
I can hear the guitars playin' lovely tunes
Every time that you walk in the room
I close my eyes for a second and pretend it's me you want
Meanwhile I try to act so nonchalant
I feel a summer's night with a magic moon
Every time that you walk in the room
Baby it's a dream come true
Standin' right along side of you
Wish I could show you how much I care
But I only have the nerve to stare
I can feel a something pounding in my brain
Just any time that someone speaks your name
Trumpets sound I hear thunder boom
Every time that you walk in the room

Back when songs had a Melody
I am a child of the 60s. Grew up loving folk music and the ballads. Moved on to the ballads of country music. From Linda Rhonstadt and Judith Durham to Pam Tillis and the ballladiers of early country. Boy this brings back wonderful memories. Thanks
What a great gal...got to meet her Father many, many years ago, at Shawnee Oklahoma, had him out for some BBQ as he spent few days to
play event in Seminole... Great man, great music...he will be forever remember, as this young lady...Thank you, Pam !
Jackie DeShannon is a legend.Good cover by Pam Tillis.
I love her voice and her presentation it's so unique.
I can imagine her Dad (Mel Tillis)looking down from Heaven and being so proud of his Baby Girl❤
I am sure Mel is! I saw him at his theatre in Branson in 1994. It was a great show and I remember there were streams of water coming from the ceiling to holes in the floor during a song he sang about rain. ( probably just some lighting Illusion!). 😂🤔 but it looked so real. 🧑🏻🦰🇨🇦
Everyone who sings this does a great job! Love Pam's homage to the era that inspired this enthusiasm for love! Great job!
should be called when You FART In The Room, hahahaha, tee hee!
When music coming out of Nashville was actually good.
Jackie DeShannon wrote it and The Searchers had a hit with it so it's not exactly a Nashville song.
Outlaw Country is the real Country. This song is city pop
Her voice has a distinct unique quality I find very appealing.
Loved how women performers were classy, beautiful, modest and talented back then. Now days even if they have good voices they lack all the good qualities.
HER RANGE IS BEAUTIFUL....LOVE HER VOICE...SUCH A TALENTED LADY...WE NEED TO HEAR MORE MUSIC FROM PAM.....😇❤
She blows this song away! Love it! Love her!
No she doesn't it is too plain; her voice is too country; Jackie DeShannon blows the song away!
I wouldn't call her voice too plain or too country. Jackie DeShannon is certainly great.
Saw her last month in Rocky Mount Virginia 😊 she was absolutely amazing 🥰 it was like time had stopped ❤.💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐💐
Wow! Talented vocal female musician and beautiful too! She's a knockout and enjoys performing for her audiences an authentic talented singer.
Wish they were making music like this in Nashville now. Lloved the 80s 90s
Uhhh, the song is from the 60s. It's rock not country.
@@hermanator74301uhh, this reissue is not from the 60,s. She was probably born in the 60's
Saw Pam Tillis live in concert about ten yers ago, Brilliant show and her interaction with the audience was so natural, so unforced and unscripted. She took the time to meet the audience at the lobby after the show and signing autographs, posing for pictures or even just a short chat was no problem for her. She may be getting on a bit, but that voice is still there. I'd pay to see her any time.
I enjoyed the same experience at a Pam Tillis concert in Plano, Texas several years ago.
God I miss country like this. Pam Tillis, Patty Loveless, older Reba... I miss those days.
90's Country was best. They had it all from traditional to a great Rock/Country mix with artist like Billy Ray Cyrus & Travis Tritt really shaking it up.
@@djcease1996 Totally agree. That's when I got into country music. Was lucky enough to see most of the great acts in concert from that era: Vince Gill, Alan Jackson, Wynonna, Reba, Pam Tillis, Brooks and Dunn, to name a few. And have maintained an enduring love for Suzy Bogguss.
The women of the 90's were not only beautiful, but talented... Pam, Patty, Tanya, and Suzy
Same as me.. 😌 Those good ole days 🙏💯👌
They are all available on RUclips.
Pam is a truly a beautiful singer and entertainer ...been a fan since the late 80's ..(and so cute too :)
Her music is timeless.
Her music knows no era.
She's Legendary.
Her music is Her Legacy.
What a GREAT song that has stood the test of time ! Whether performed by Jackie, The Searchers, & now, Pam Tillis, it`s crackerjack !!
Just heard Susanna Hoffs’ version of it also. I love Susanna, but I Pam’s is my favorite. Did I mention that I love Susanna?
@@michaelrockow5461 YES you did ! Thanks for the tip; I`ll check her out...
Chris Hillman does a great version also.
I like paul carrack.
What a beautiful lady and what a great voice.
I thank the good lord above everyday that I was able to grow up in this era.
Me too♥️
What decade was this?
@@alexmilton893 90's.

Amen!!

@@Tillis_pam I am from, UK, , i used to perform this song, in pubs, clubs, hotels,, , the searchers , version. Excellent interpretation of a classic. Thank you Pam🎈🎼💙💛
Great version of this song especially the twang guitar.
Pam tillis and patty loveless ,underrated 90s country songstresses.
Yes such a lovely comment you make, hello Kim how are you doing 👋👋
One of the greatest female voices ever.
That's a broad statement she's good but she's no Barbara Streisand :)
@@mikegraham8319 You must be jokin'
I think the same thing. I can't believe someone thinks Barbara Streisand is better!!
She truly better then BS
@@mikegraham8319 is that a joke?
Always thought this song by Jackie De Shannon would be a good Country Cross-Over.
Finally decided to look it up and was not disappointed. Pam does a great job!
I only discovered this fantastic song in the last week and the amazing Pam Tillis. I am addicted and already a lifelong fan. What can i say? I am deeply in love , this time with the crystal voice of an angel. Thomas
Written by the very talented singer-songwriter Jackie Deshannon in 1963. Didn't break through until re-released the following year. Covered by numerous artists/bands since. Springsteen has been covering it for nearly 50 years. Agnetha Faltskog released a cracking version in 2004 on her My Colouring Book Album.
Now I am a Searchers fan and thought their version superb well, this matches it been ages since I heard this what happened to Pam she should be up there with the greats.
First heard this by Karla Bonoff but Pam just kills it. Such a sweet voice. She' gotta be my favorite country singer.
Jackie would be so proud!
I’ve been a Pam fan since middle school. She is a legend.
Thanks for your kind words....
I am blessed to have such a fan following keep calm and stay country 🤠
Bet you're truly a fan of me ?
you're no legend, that's for sure@@Tillis_pam
When you walk into the room, My heart skips a beat !!
when you FART in the room sounds much better.
Pam, you always bring love.
Remembering kitchen concerts in Belle Meade, in the little valley beside the creek.
Always and forever
forever more
Forever more
I'm a huge fan of this song , and i reckon she's done pretty well there ... she's got a good voice.

The absolute best version of this classic. The 60's treatment is appropriate since the song was penned and first recorded back then, however, it song didn't need to be visually categorized because it is timeless. Straight up best version is Ms Tillis'!
Thanks for your kind words... I am blessed to have such a fan following keep calm and stay country 🤠
Bet you're truly a fan of me ?
My dad had Pam’s Sweethearts Dance CD and I wore it out !!
Wow! She sounds great! I just love that quivering quality to her voice. And I really love that she paid homage to 'days of yore' with this retro act. It's a definite A+!
We had so many great female artists emerging on the scene around '89 - and into the nineties. -Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill, and Pam Tillis! I'm not sure country music has been as good, since.

This was originally recorded by The Searchers in 1964. That's the version I grew up with, and I still prefer it to this.
The Searchers is where I first heard it and that is a favorite. I believe the original was Jackie DeShannon. Hers is pretty good too.
@Paul Goodier et al. I don't believe I have ever heard a bad version of this timeless classic. It is such a perfect piece of pop genius that it's almost impossible to flub. So kudos to Jackie De Shannon, songwriter supreme, for this masterpiece. If I could only write one song this great *sigh*
Originally recorded by Jackie De Shannon the writer. ..
Originally released by Jackie DeShannon Nov 23 1963, the year before the Searchers.
J adore ce morceau qui a été repris il y a quelques années par claude francois et bien d'autres bravo pour ce disques de la part de willy de dijon France merci
People don't realize how big Pam Tillis was. Glad I do.
Thanks for your kind words....

Bet you're truly a fan of me ?
Yup! Me too.
I knew from day one of Pam Tillis singing, she would be big
My second favorite version of this song after Jackie DeShannon's original, she also wrote it. Pam's is a very American and great country version of this classic ballad with a video that harkens back to the early 60's.
One of the greatest tunes of the era. This is real music. Pam nails it. Sad we don't see her at the Opry anymore. Forgotten by Opry management.
Screw Opry Management. They're obsolete.
Yep, so many different interpretations of a JDS classic, and it's probably the mark of a great song that it can stand so many different approaches and still sound terrific . . .
Been a while for me.beautiful

What happened to real country music? Now all you hear on country radio is noise pollution.
I agree.
My words for the last 30 years, very well put my man

Still. Very good Artists and songs out there
In fact better than in the past
Who better than Dolly or Allen Jackson ,George Strait or Reba and 2 dozen more
