Backhouse Mike is back! I love it!! Drake, your first 2 albums were the soundtrack to my childhood and now this stunning music video is getting me pumped for the new album! If you see this, please know your musical and comedic talents have always been the gold standard for me. I hope this new chapter brings you peace and shows how much you're admired and loved! You sure have given us a lot of joy :)
I am so happy to see that Michael was on this track!!! Also if you listen closely you can hear “see what’s inside” backing vocals when they show the Drake and Josh set

I loved Drake and Josh, but I'd trade away every memory of the show for you to have your childhood back. Thank you for this song, Drake. EDIT: I've seen the documentary and I'm aware the abuse happened before Drake and Josh. It's just the show that I know Drake Bell for the most.
Prayers sent out this guy's way. In 2020, he was almost disgraced... But, by that age, I had become way more emphatic and unfussy to go on an internet tirade about something that didn't concern me. I recognized his struggles and hoped things got better for him.... Drake, I hope you are doing great now.
Drake. At such a young age you raised millions of children who had no idea what you were going through. So much pressure was put on you. It’s now our job as the public to help push your story. We love you
"raised millions of children" .......i think the word you are looking for is "influenced" God help these children against this education system....smfh
yeah i just can't look at nick the same he was my crush growing up until i was in middle school and to know what he and others went through broke my heart nobody should have had to go through the stuff that happened on set
Drake is so brave for sharing his story. The documentary was hard to watch knowing what he went through. Thank you Drake for being so vulnerable and giving us the hope to heal and feel better.
"I know i was wrong, but i'm gonna make it right", a simple but awesome statement that people can learn from. We live in a world where no one ever wants to admit when they're wrong, they double down, pass blame. Admitting wrong and learning from it, trying to do better or be better, thats the way it needs to be. Much respect for this song.
It also seems like you're not allowed to make a mistake and change. Once you've messed up, western society at least, doesn't want to forgive most people. As if we're all supposed to be perfect from day 1.
Drake, I am so proud to be a part of this song! But I’m even more happy that you finally felt comfortable enough to tell your story! I hope you feel a little more free now! ❤
@Goddoesnotexist5667 ive been scrolling this comment section and you posted the same nonsense several times what's the goal ? it is being abused funny to you ?
@@sarahwashington00 it’s been reported. Hopefully not just from me. Those comments are unacceptable to be commented on anyone’s story of SA. Karma will come for that person I’m sure of it.
As an adult, knowing that the actors who played my comfort characters growing up, were going through the same things I went through around that time, breaks my heart.
“I know I was wronged, but I’m gonna make it right. I know I’ve done wrong, but I’m BOUND to make it right.” Beautiful view on picking up and carrying on from trauma, even if it takes years. And his taking accountability for his own actions in the same breath, saying he’s doing everything he can to make up for the pain he caused other people, without simply blaming his mistakes on his own trauma and leaving it at that. This is some powerful imagery. Thank you for sharing, Drake ❤
This guy still did what he did and it doesn’t dismiss it, you think he would have learned but he decided to become a victim. The case (with him being diddled by Peck) was done with a long time ago. This is just great timing for him to get people who know shit to love him.
He’s never tried to dismiss it though. Dudes never used him being assaulted to justify anything he’s done. Even if he’s thought it he’s never made that his reasoning for his actions
Man. As a csa survivor, this song hits so unbelievably close to home. Coming to terms not just with what happened to us but the things we've done ourselves is such a painful but necessary journey; I've lost so many years of my life after the abuse ended just working through it. I've been working with at-risk youth for a few years now and no matter how hard it gets seeing myself in them, showing them they can come out of it stronger has been everything to me. You sharing your story and showing countless others they're not alone can make all the difference in a young person's life. Wishing you nothing but the best
what's CSA? sorry for my ignorance. And also I'm so sorry for what you'd been through and glad you're pulling through- although i'm only a stranger from across the pond.
If American fans believed the lies of the NY times, Mexican fans gave him a chance to explain himself and never believed in the lies, we Mexicans never abandon a friend, and drake showed ever since he first went to mexico in 2008 that he appreciated the culture and the people as much as we love him.... if not more... We latinos are grateful people and never forget someone who gave us happiness. We can proudly say now that we never abandoned Drake bell the way some of american fans did, and still they are clicking on the same media that difamated Drake Bell, but that same media never reported on his abuser case the way they should. #JusticeForDrakeBell I hope the attacks from americans will come to a halt, but if they keep attacking him, Drake won't be alone, because we Mexicans and all Latin-American fans will be there to defend him.
@@parareefaelias656 drake was extremely unpopular in the USA before the allegations happened- it was nothing to do with "believing lies" he just didn't have a memorable career here after drake and josh lol
It's hard to realize that, while we as teenagers we enjoyed Drake's lyrics and acting, he was dealing with a lot of hard and terrible things in his life. He was reaching his dreams, but paying a high price. The only thing I think I can do now is to continue supporting his job (music, concerts, acting) and appreciating the job that he has made for a long time.
@@ModestKrab Apparently the evidence showed the child was stalking him and that he cut contact with them. I think people forget sometimes that these kids can also act crazy. The media dog piled on him when it all first went down but didn't exactly follow through with what actually happened. But they sure did stick through for all of Johnny Depps stuff. ""I responded to a fan whose age I didn't know yet & when i became aware of their age, all conversation and communication stopped," he said. "This individual continued to come to shows and pay for meet and greets, all while I was unaware that this was the same person I was communicating with online, and that's what I plead guilty to.""
@flint9889 he was quite relatable to them hell I was an mexican and he was my favorite Spider Man voice actor growing up on him in Earth's Mightiest Heroes Avengers Assemble and Ultimate Spider Man shows as well Drake Bell making appearances on Avengers Assemble(season 1 to 3)and Hulk Agents of S.M.A.S.H(season 1 to 2)shows and he was always my favorite Spider Man voice actor.

I’m tired of calling myself names and gaslighting myself into avoided help. It’s time. I need help. I am tired of holding myself together. Thank you Drake for being open about your struggle, survival, and growth going forward. It’s given me courage to take steps forward to healing.
I’m also a CSA survivor and have taken therapy for it. Look into EMDR especially if you get flashbacks frequently that kill your mood it’s a world of wonder!!
Thank you guys. I reached out to an outpatient treatment center. Hoping to get this figured out soon. I just want to be well for my baby boy and my husband. And myself included. ❤
"Drake & Josh" has been aired almost uninterrupted here in Mexico for almost 20 years in open TV, many generations have grown with Drake and his music, that's why Mexico loves him so much, he is one of us
The line “No one knocks at my door” hits hard. I’ve known the kind of people that are around when times are fun for them, but disappear like a dang ghost when you need some kind of help or support. They feel you’re good enough to cover their meal at a restaurant, or to come to their birthday party to bring gifts, or to come over to hang out with them when they’re feeling low, but when you need something, suddenly they can’t be bothered (and furthermore, according to them, you’re selfish for wanting the same courtesy you gave them). I knew someone who thought it was perfectly fine for her to blow off appointments she made with me without warning or explanation the second something else came up, leaving me waiting by the door for a car that wasn’t going to show up. It hurts to have someone treat you like some random chore to be shrugged off.

It makes so much more sense why he went to Mexico now. The media twisted it. So glad he came back & is telling his story. This is such an important step into making more awareness to this situation as a whole. So strong & brave of him❤
For the record Drake Bell has been going to Mexico ever since 2008 long before he was difamated and cancelled by americans. Mexican people are very noble, kind and hearwarming and they are loyal to foreigners who appreciate our culture and the beauty of our country. Drake bell was at first a friend of Mexico and now many of us see him as a Mexican so we are loyal to him and supportive. Right now we are very protective of him and some of us resent the way that many americans abandoned him but now that the truth is out now some want to pretend they were always there. Why couldn't americans love one of their own, but it was foreign countries who lend him and hand and allowed him to speak about the case while in USA people just cancelled him? I'm not talking you but honestly americans should travel more because Mexico, Korea, Malasya, Turkey have many things that are more advanced than in the states and one of them is not being judgemental and not canceling people.
@@parareefaelias656 I see where you are coming from. As an American, I can tell you that people here will condemn a person at the drop of a hat, because we are a bitter country. Not all of us are like that, but over the last few years I've grown too tired to hate people anymore. There are a few that I know I will never like, but I'm sick of jumping on a hateful bandwagon just to find out that I'm the asshole who helped push someone in a dark hole. By the time allegations against Drake were in the media, I was already emotionally burnt, and couldn't hate him, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't laugh at jokes at the time. I didn't help anything. I'm tired of being bitter. If I could apologize to him in person I would. Actually, I would thank him. I didn't suffer the same kind of abuse growing up, and to no where near the same degree, but I have male friends who unfortunately experienced some similar things, and they struggle with it so much, to this day. I'd thank him on behalf of the men in my life who have suffered in silence, that he has shared things that are so vulnerable. They can't speak up, but he did. I want him to know that means something bigger than him.
Crazy that us, Nickelodeon kids, are all grown up and learning the tragic behind the scenes lives of our favorite childhood show stars. We love you Drake Bell, thank you for giving up your innocence and childhood to make us laugh. The fact that while we all were making memories as children watching Drake and Josh or other Nick shows, the stars on the shows were quietly suffering.
I'm happy you're able to start again, from one abuse survivor to another. It sucks to be used and then treated like a "has been" or like you have nothing left to offer. I'm happy you're doing music for you now, and I wish you the best.
3:17 the sampling of the Drake & Josh theme song INTO the transition to the iconic bedroom set AND THEN “you’ll see what’s inside” as background vocals at 3:23 - another nod to the Drake & Josh theme song. Beautiful. Art. Thank you for sharing, Drake Bell.

It's very powerful when a man can talk about his abuse. When he can admit he has done wrong too but wants to do right. I hope other men that experienced abuse in the industry will be encouraged to come out with their truth. There needs to be a "me too" type movement for men. It's not just girls and woman who experience abuse.
I agree. It's about due time any day now for men to speak up too. Even as a girl, abuses that are being ignored affect men just as much too. The stigma is crazy.

We love you very much, Dreke, and thank you for being so beautiful.
I don't know how to say this but after listening to this song and watching the video for about 20 times it seems like Drake isn't talking as a star but as a private person. The way he sings "I know I was wrong" at the end seems to me like he isn't doing that for image purposes. He is talking from the heart.
I agree with you for the most part at the end of the day stars are people too I'm sure they would love to be private but can't be because of the lifestyle they choosed for themselves

"I Kind of Relate" is such a raw and honest song. Drake really opens up about his struggles, and it’s so relatable for anyone who’s felt lost or needed a fresh start. The lyrics capture that feeling of running away from pain and mistakes, but also the determination to make things right. The line “I know I was wrong, but I’m gonna make it right” is so powerful and shows his resilience. You can really feel his journey of self-discovery and healing in this track. The line of wanting to stay but not being able to last another day hits hard. It’s a beautifully vulnerable song that reminds us that it’s okay to start over and learn from our past. Drake, thank you for sharing something so personal with us! I'm so glad that you're doing better.
Seeing the Drake and Josh bedroom got me tearing up. My sons are now 23 and 25, and we never missed an episode of Drake and Josh. I loved it as much as they did!
This is incredibly Beatles-esque. I'm so glad Drake has been able to survive his abuse..he really is a legend and an icon from our childhood. His importance in our culture will NEVER be diminished by his experiences.
My husband and I said the same thing. The big band, the melody, the background vocals, the music break, etc. We're huge Beatles fans and that's the first thing we thought.
In Hollywood I was barely there a year doing auditions in my early twenties. I was living with my friends and my friend Charlie heard music in the yard behind us. He told me it was drake bell and if we wanted to go meet and hang with him. I did not believe it was ACTUALLY him. He was so nice. Listened to our original music and showed us some stuff. Then we sang like 3 Ben folds songs together while he played the piano. Drake is a master musician and creative powerhouse. We thought Nickelodeon was a safe space and you gave us so many laughs just to find out it was the opposite. Thanks for telling your story Drake. I really hope you can fully heal and find peace
I thought he was going to talk about the car crash in the doc. As soon as I saw the video I was like, "oh damn." I would randomly think of that accident and the details i knew of over the last 2 decades.
This is a beautiful representation of revealing a childhood trauma. He also takes ownership in how he put that trauma on someone else. Being a man and a human is to err but you have to know how to heal what hurt you, apologize for hurting others, and then making things right. Congratulations to him for exposing the truth.
What strong character this man has. So many, FAR too many kids went through similar abuse, but without the world's camera pointed in their face. Drake can't possibly know how many of those hurt children he gave hours of fun, laughter, and distraction through his passion for acting despite the pain. I hope that people hear your story, digest it, learn from it, then let you continue living and working without all this being your legacy. I promise I will remember you as a talented comedian, a great singer, and most importantly, a regular human being trying their best in this world to live happily and make good choices. I respect the hell out of you, friend.

So are the underage girls that came out with their stories about how he groomed them 😢
"I know i was wrong, but i'm gonna make it right", a simple but awesome statement that people can learn from. We live in a world where no one ever wants to admit when they're wrong, they double down, pass blame. Admitting wrong and learning from it, trying to do better or be better, thats the way it needs to be. Much respect for this song.
I was wrong to think Drake was the bad guy & Josh the innocent one.
Drake wasn't great but he's learned some things.

"I Kind of Relate" is such a raw and honest song. Drake really opens up about his struggles, and it’s so relatable for anyone who’s felt lost or needed a fresh start. The lyrics capture that feeling of running away from pain and mistakes, but also the determination to make things right.
I had the exact thought about the Beatles like vibe!!
My husband and I said the same thing. The big band, the melody, the background vocals, the music break, etc. We're huge Beatles fans and that's the first thing we thought.
I thought the exact same thing! it gave me With A Little Help From My Friends vibes!
The same happened to me, it has a beatle vibe
Yeesh Arnold Layne isnt a song ive heard of in a WHILE
Mexico,Guatemala,El Salvador,Nicaragua,Honduras,Costa rica and Panama … We are here for you Drake !
Y pensar que mientras yo reía mirandote a través del televisor tú llorabas 🥺, GRACIAS por no rendirte. ❤D🇲🇽
I never knew your struggles, but I’m so proud of you, one of my childhood hero’s, for being the better person. All good vibes your way- Drake

He has a knack for layering vocals and keeping vintage/classic sounds fresh and modern. Great song!
I think he was influenced by that groomer Michael Corcoran (Schneider’s music guy and Liz Gillies’ husband). Gross but the music slaps 😕

Oh Drake. I hope you find healing. You didn‘t deserve any of it. This song is really great, I hope it gets the recognition it deserves.

You're so brave Drake, it's so hard to tell stories of real abuse and you must have had years of torment from all of this, your song tells the story so well and you've chosen the right path and it's not worth dwelling on the past but move on and make things better for you and others. Thank you for your inspiration.

I love how this video was shot in *almost* one continuous shot. Super cool set up for a music video.
I can’t speak for all but as an American girl who grew up with you I’ve always loved you, and after hearing what happened to you and your father it hurt me so so much. I’m sorry America abandoned you, you deserved so much better and I hope you get everything you truly deserve. You still bring so much joy to so many! Never give up your dreams 🩵🤍

Drake. Tal vez no leas mi humilde comentario. No estás solo.
Siento mucho lo que te paso. 💔 Ánimo mi Reyna. No estás sola.
Eres una valiente y una guerrera. Te mando un abrazo fuertísimo.
Tania siento lo que te pasó y no estás sola yo sufrí acoso sexual por el esposo de mi tía, pero el amor de las personas y mi fe en Dios me han levantado
One of the only celebs out there that became a product of their own trauma, then decided to take accountability & get justice for themselves in the process.
Well said. 👏

As a SA victim myself (and I was 12 when Drake and Josh was on TV so you know I had pictures of Drake Bell cut out of magazines hanging on my wall with all my favorite celebs)
You are so brave and what you have done is so powerful. You truly took your power back and I hope you give America another chance.
I love how the music in this song sounds like a song the Beatles would make . Very creative for todays pop music .
They broke him as a child, have more respect please
I think same, Drak is a big fan to the Beatles
Yes very creative for something that sounds 50 years old
That’s so true. Todays pop music is so boring in my opinion. The Beatles and Michael Jackson made creative pop music
The ending is straight up A Little Help From My Friends

Thank you for not letting them dull your shine, and for moving forward fulfilling your dreams.
I cried my way through your part in Quite on Set. I adored Drake and Josh and I can’t even fathom that you were suffering that much but did the show like nothing was wrong. You were the “cute musician who got all the girls” and we are so sorry we couldn’t see past that and that all the adults around you failed you. You made so many children so happy with your roles but suffered so much and it’s despicable. My heart aches for you, Drake. I wish you so much love and I hope the love and support you’re getting now helps in your healing. We are all on your side ❤️❤️
As someone who has suffered from sexual abuse as a child this hit hard. Healing is hard and a lot of work it wasn’t your fault and you are so strong and a fighter. Thank you for telling the world your truth and being so vulnerable it takes so much courage ❤
Exactly, I’m so proud of him for speaking publicly, it’s such a fear of mine for ppl to actually know my past
I can relate too. I'm mama bear with my boys. I told my fiance about my past. Even at 30 it still carries. I'm glad I have a partner that is here for me. I told my mother and she didn't comfort me. I'm so sorry this happened to you 😢.

But after I watched the Quiet on Set documentary and listened to your story, I just want to say I’m sorry for what you went through and you having the courage to share your story and let your voice be heard, I have so much respect for you for doing that.
