I have watched 2 of your videos and in both you have stressed taking good care of your equipment so it will last longer. This is something we should always be teaching the young folks. You deserve a lot more views for that alone!
I’ve had the DLX for about a month and love it so far. Have done 5 cooks and no complaints. Will do a hard maintenance this weekend. Glad I saw this. This video will Definitely help! Thanks!
Great to hear! Happy grillin' !
Love it, straight to the point on this review of the Oklahoma Joe and quick cleaning.
I appreciate that bro!
Straight to the point.....you clean your car.....so clean your grill....awesome 👍
Haha yep! Thanks my man!
I've had the same grill for two years now and love it, best grill ever!
I empty my ash container after each use and it never has much in it. Before pulling up your video, I started taking it apart and it is full of ash! I'm heading to the hardware store now to get a little shop vac (mine...not for hubby to use in the garage!!! lol) and clean it and I will also take it apart like you did. I had purchased the floor model (during quarantine it was all that was available!) so maybe I just need to take it all apart and put it back together. I love this smoker/grill. I agree with leaving the seasoning, I've worked hard for that! I use mine at least 3 or 4 times a week (it is over due for a cleaning!)
I have the exact same smoker but after only one use it stopped working properly. Oklahoma Joe's has been getting me different parts and I'm still waiting for the last one (heat igniter). It's been about three months without this smoker and I can't wait to get it going. Thank you for the video because now I have a better idea of how to take it apart and get to the igniter.
Thanks for sharing, glad to have helped! Sucks to hear you've had issues, but sounds like you'll be up and running soon!
Great video that wasn’t the length of a movie. I’be been thinking about getting one of these and your video has helped me with my decision. Thanks for the video.
I just liked and subscribed based on your no BS approach. Keep it up.
I just bought one of these grills yesterday on clearance for $220! More than 60 % off the original price. Look forward to cooking some awesome food on out.
I appreciate that! Sounds like you got a hell of a deal! Roll that smoke!
Just used my DLX yesterday and me and my bro were talking about to really clean that Beast so this Vid really helped my guy I appreciate it 💯
Glad it helped Matt! Happy grillin’ bro 💯
Short review=video like. Thanks bro 🤙🏾
Jonathan,
Thank you for the to the point informative video. I'm consider the Oklahoma grill but have a Traeger that still has a little life left after 13 years so will keep it for a couple more months then likely flip a coin to get a new Traeger of Oklahoma Joe's smoker. Ya done good.
I live in Minnesota. I found that it gets so cold here that any pellets in the auger channel would freeze up over the winter. Thought I had broken the darn thing when I tried to run it yesterday April 10th for the first cook of 2023 and the auger wouldn't move 😅 But I'm a Mechanical Engineer. I took that thing apart right quick. It was 47F when I opened it up. I found freaking frozen chunks of pellets 😂😂 I clean it out and put it back together. Smoked me some chicken, tripe, briskets and pork. And the wife and kids were happy! Thought I should let you know. Peace brother.
Great feedback! Thanks for sharing too man. Happy grilling! 🔥
Great video. Informational and too the point. Wish all video's were like this.
Thank you for keeping it clear!! Love mine! Was wondering about the grate though….
I've been using high pressure air to just blow all the dust out. I'll have to take it apart like this to see how well it works. Nice videos and I love my Rider DLX!!
Not a bad idea on the high pressure air for in between maintenance!
I vacuum out what I can in the burn area and then blow out the rest using the exhaust on the shop vac. I also blow out the auger tube to remove any accumulated dust. Just don't breathe any of the dust. But I like to take it apart every so often just to give it a good cleaning.
Jonathan, How does this smoker do on a long brisket cook? Does it have hot spots and temperature issues? If I cook multiple briskets on this will they cook even like they do on a traditional pellet grill with he large drip pan deflecting the heat?
Great video! Great explanation on disassembling to clean and great camera work to show exactly what you were doing! Thanks a bunch! A+++
Hey mine does not have to remove any screw and i can remove the plates and clean it. Might be a new design for easy cleaning
Jonathan, have you done any modifications to your pellet grill, like a seal or anything? Thanks and great information
really good explanation short and sweet
Truly appreciate your video boss.. I was stuck and thankfully I found your video. Peace and love ✌️
Great to hear bro! Thanks!
Quick to the point no bs video, excellent! I barely broke my Rider DLX in, but thanks for the tip!
Great show, that was a good cleaning man. Stay well!!
thank you for getting to the point man!!!!!! best review yet
Love my DLX. Great grill. For cleanup between cooks, I use my leaf blower and blow the crap out of it. Seems to work.
Nice! I’m gonna try that next cook, thanks!
Got a new sub, good review/pointers
Freaking love the approach to a review. WELL DONE!
Thanks man I just bought a Rider DX and this helps huge!. Looks like your in AZ like me. New sub here
Best grill you've ever owned but, what other grills have you owned? Just so we know what you're comparing it to.
thanks man. I just bought mine a couple weeks ago.....thank you very much for the tips👍👍👍👍
Happy grilling my friend!
Hey Brother great job on your videos, I’m a tough critic but you do an awesome job!
Hey man I appreciate it!
Great review "It's good". Now I gotta get one. I have never cleaned my grill. Now I gotta do it this weekend. Nice upload 👌
Jonathan, great video. I immediately subscribed.
Welcome aboard!
So, what happens if the bottom thing that holds the ash is so tight that we can’t loosen it to clean it?
Very informative, maintaining and cleaning is key.
I like your style man, I'm tryna see more 30 sec grill reviews not 10 min long ones! Good info too tho lol 👍🏽
You said it was the best. What other pellet smokers have you owned?
GMG Daniel Boone and Traeger 575
Dude what song is this? and is this a clean you do every time you run it?
Question have you had any problem with the OK Joe pellet grill? The reviews aren’t that great. But you feel good about it correct ?
I love mines. Have to keep it clean, but from my experience the people who leave bad reviews are causing most of the problems themselves lol #UserError
@@JonathanBBQ I had a Pit boss pellet grill and loved it but gave it to my son when he got married ... so I missed around purchased another one the real nice 1150... but the mobile app is trash and disappointing, I should have got the OK JOE. thinking about still going to purchase it. Any ways
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Just got my dlx this is my 5th pellet grill I had a zgrill 700 and it was awesome but then I thought I was upgrading with a shit boss kc platinum (boy was I wrong) so I had 3 of those (replacement pits) then I sold those hunks of junk and got the dlx so far it’s my favorite only thing I will say is cleanings a bitch and the damn thing can get hot really fast so you gotta be careful. All in all this was a great video on how to clean mainly because it was quick and too the point and also Lowe’s already assembled mine so I didn’t get to see how everything went together lol.
Thanks my dude
Great video. Sweet and to the point.
I like to cut to the chase!
Hey Brother, wow right to the point and made my mind up on getting one, cant wait to GRILLING, Bob from cedar Flat Or
Always solid content thanks.
Much appreciated, my man Andrew!
I went and took a look at this grill at the store today, is looks like it would be a big greasy mess. There's no plate to catch grease and it looks like it'd get all over everything. Maybe I'm wrong but it looks like it
ADVICE: Clean it often. After a year of owning, I never did this. My hot surface ignitor failed and I had to replace it. All of the screws holding on the metal baffles, firepot and sear/smoke handles are all seized rusted and now stripped. It was a pain to get them all out.
Great video
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks for the video
Hey Jonathan, is there any way to DM you? I got a few questions about the grill if that is ok with you
Hit me up on instagram! @Jonathan.BBQ
very helpful just bought 1200 g2 for $612
Great to hear it holds some value! Happy grilling!
@@JonathanBBQ thanks price is too good
good to know.
Gotta do a good clean!
All that grease build up keeps the rust away. But excessive grease leads to fire hazards
Still a pain to clean.
I’ve learned that this grill doesn’t like cheap pellets.
I have to clean like this every 7-10th burn.
Still a pain to clean 😡
I’m recently upgraded to the newer version of this grill “Rider DLX 1200”. They improved everything across the board!
Biggest piece of s*** I ever bought.
Why do you say that??????
