    Great video bud. I have an 18 SBA 800HO and was doing a top end rebuilt. I’m familiar with engines but never done a new gen snowmobile so it was nice to watch your videos to familiarize myself with the entire engine, its component and the how-to about it. Thanks.

    Great series of videos. Just about to rip in to my 2015 Switchback that has 22,000 km. Your series looks like it’ll be my go to, whether I buy a short block or decide to have the crank and cylinders done separately. I haven’t had the engine out of an Axys before so this is perfect for my needs. Thanks.

    Would have been nice to watch it in a slower mode and with a little more explanation. Especially from the beginning when installing the oil pump and the water pump, fly wheel and stator, I thought there has to be installed a certain way for the timing, gap size between the stator and the flywheel, all the new rubber "O" rings rubber bushings you get when you get the new motor. Another thing is I noticed that you put the fuel injectors in after the motor was in. I am wondering if that would have been easier to do before putting the motor in. It's my first time doing this so I am having a little bit difficulty getting everything back together. Especially when I took the motor out and then apart almost a year ago. Tried to label everything and organize things best I could but apparently not good enough. It also would be nice if they would give the size of all the bolts used. Most a metric yes but you have some for example M10x1. 25 and M10x1. 5 etc. The service manual only tells you what to torque them at. Real pain in the Ass lol

    Hello ! great video. Can I remove the starter completely, with the big bolt and an impact, or do I have to disassemble everything as you show when you reinstall it. Do I need to remove it to open the base?
    I have to open the base to change the water pump shaft. Switchback Adventure 600 2012. Thank you!

    Good video! Bought a 2017 xcr 800 last month and unfortunately seized up on my first trip, now I know what I'm in for. Question, who should I send mine off to? Stator side is the issue, piston and head started to melt and the connecting rod seized to the crankshaft. Clutch sides power valve ears broke off too, one ended up in the exhaust, gouged up the cylinder a little. Any advice?

      That sucks! BWC Powersports in Edmonton AB treated me really well and I highly recommend them.

    Did you prime the oil pump before starting it up?

    • @themediocregarage
      @themediocregarage  2 года назад +2

      No I didn’t. Pump stayed fully primed while removed. As I installed each line I just made sure there were no bubbles in the line.

      At how many miles should one expect to put top end? Same question for bottom end ? Great vid! Thx

    • @fairbanksairriders
      @fairbanksairriders Год назад

      Usually around 3,000 miles for a top end rebuild. 6,000 miles for bottom end but at this point the whole sled is worn out!
