- Are you excited to ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind on your next trip to Epcot? We're taking you step-by-step, screen-by-screen through the process of booking one of those coveted boarding groups using the Virtual Queue system. It's extremely competitive right now, but we'll show you our best tips and tricks that have helped us snag a slot each time we've tried (we're currently 4 for 4). Plus, we'll take a look at some of the opening day merch at the Creations shop and Treasures of Xandar. Then we'll take you through the spectacular Wonders of Xandar Pavilion and end with some shots of our POV ride of Cosmic Rewind - let's go do it!
UPDATED to include a correction: Thank you to Mousekepros Travel for pointing out that you do not need to be physically in the park for the 1PM drop. Everyone in your party must have entered at least once during the day, but you do not need to be physically present inside Epcot at 1pm.

DJI OM 5
This is like a steadicam for your phone. It keeps all your shots smooth and level, even while you are walking. Do not use on fast rides like roller coasters. Also note that this can convert to a selfie stick, but selfie sticks are not allowed in Disney Parks. This item is allowed because it is primarily a gimbal but you are not allowed to extend it.

RODE VIDEO MICRO
This little microphone is a great, affordable way to cut down on the noise around you so people can hear your voice. Just be sure to point it at the sound you want and unplug it when you want to hear all the sound around you.

COLD SHOE MOUNT ADAPTER
If you want to use the DJI Om 5 and the microphone at the same time, you need one of these.

Love your videos and how bright and cheerful you are. The screen shots and step by step is also so super helpful. Can't wait to see more!
Thanks so much for watching and leaving this sweet comment. 😃
We joined the virtual queue at 7am on the app. It was super easy!! We are not staying at a Disney hotel either. We clicked on virtual queue and got a 14:30 slot. So as for the ride…..If you’re having a bad day, then go on this…you’ll come out feeling HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY, it’s soooo much fun. I had my arms up in the air the whole time, singing and dancing. It’s not scary and just makes you feel good!
Your videos made our entire trip this week to Disney much more enjoyable. You have the best Disney explanation videos of anyone. Keep up the good work!
Thank you so much - we love to hear when people find our videos helpful. Especially when it means they have a great trip to Disney World! We really appreciate you watching our videos and leaving this comment - it really brightened our day. 😃
I’m dreaming of the days where we would just make make husband run from one side of the park to the other to grab a fast pass ticket while I sat and had a coffee with the kids 😂
That sounds like a pretty sweet deal you guys had there - did he get to pick the rides? 🤣
@@EarScouts absolutely NOT 😂😂😂❤️
Rob you do a great job on these videos; I really appreciate how much effort you put into making the details easy to understand for all of the rest of us. Thank you so very much!
Thank you so much for watching and supporting our channel! We really appreciate it. 😃
Thank you so much for these videos!! I recently stumbled upon your channel researching stuff for our upcoming WDW trip (5 days to go!) My family and I have been DVC members since 2011, and have been to the parks several times. The last time we were in Disney was 2017, with plans to go in 2020 for the opening of Star Wars…here we are 5 years later since our last trip, and we are SO worried about using Genie+ and these Lightning Lanes/Virtual Queues! We’ve watched both your Genie+ and this video to help us out! They’ve been a TREMENDOUS help, as seeing the screen and your insight in the parks has helped so much! Your professionalism, engaging videos, and great personality has been a joy to watch! I know this has been long, but as a family who knows everything about Disney, but has not used these services before, you have been a great help. Again, just thank you so much for all you do here!
Thank YOU so much for watching and taking the time to share such a sweet comment. After that long wait, i sure hope you have an amazing trip! Experiencing Galaxy’s Edge for the first time is one of my all-time favorite Disney memories. It really is incredible. Good luck with those virtual queues and genie slots!!!
We just got back from 10 days at WDW- we were able to successfully get boarding groups every day we were at Epcot, each one earlier than the last! It’s now our families new favorite ride. We rode Guardians 4 times, 4 different songs. We couldn’t have done it without your helpful videos!
Thank you so much for this info. Using your method, I was able to ride Guardians of the Galaxy 3 times in 2 days! I was also the guy that said hi to you today outside of Epcot as you were entering the park on Dec 26th!
Thank you so much for this video! We managed to get a virtual boarding group both days we were at Epcot during a recent trip, including the 6pm one for resort guests on a Monday. Your tips on where to sit at Epcot helped immensely. Love your videos, thanks for your efforts!
Nicely done! 🙌 Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to let us know how your trip went - we really appreciate it!
Trying my luck with the virtual queue and lightning lane tomorrow! Thank you for explaining everything in such detail, it really helps!
Good luck!!! Just tap-tap-tap like crazy! 😂 I think the secret is to not hesitate when the screen changes to the “join virtual queue” button. Just keep tapping in that same spot because the button is in exactly the same place. When the screen changes, I tend to instinctively hesitate for a split second and when I resisted that urge to do that on Sunday, I got group 12 in the AM. Either way, LOTS of people have been having great luck with the 1pm, so all is not lost if you miss the first batch.
This is insane. My last trip to EPCOT was 20+ years ago. I was living under the stone obviously. I am going back this year for my son's sake. Thanks for the video instruction.
I wonder how bad it is now at least it’s been open for almost a year now
@@g-moneyy7707 Just came back from Disney. It's not that bad as long you know the drill. Virtual Queue (or Lightning Lane) from Disney App is required for TRON and Guardians of Galaxy. For these two rides, you can't just walk in and stand in line. You have to go through the app for crowd control purpose. I can't imagine 20 years from now what new technology will be introduced for the queue.
@@coffeetime1001 thanks for the update. Im going early next year and have to start figuring stuff out so this is good info.
You explain these complicated and technical topics so clearly! Thank you!
Thank you - that’s what we aim for and it’s always great to hear that people find our videos helpful. We really appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment! 😃
Hello. Thanks to your tips I got in group 52 at 7am today. I followed step by step what you explained about the virtual queues, and I got it😀. The pics of the virtual queue process in the app helped me a lot. I’m really excited. Thank you very much😀
That’s great to hear. Hope you have an amazing day at Epcot! Thanks so much for watching and letting us know how things went. 😃
Thank you so much for your tips! We were able to get on this ride, all because of your helpful step by step guide. Also, enjoy your positive attitude and joie de vivre!
Thank you for the video! We watched last night. We followed you tips and got boarding group one this morning. It was nice running into you at the park today!
Thanks for watching and for saying hi in the parks! You got a better spot than we did yesterday - very well done. 👍
Your videos are phenomenal. I build and deliver training on tech products for a living so I have a deep appreciation for what it takes to provide the narration along with the app navigation you have included here. And you're filming outdoors at a Disney resort. I'm beyond impressed. Well done, sir!
Hi Tracy - thanks so much. It definitely takes a lot of takes to get things right sometimes. 😂 Thanks for your thoughtful comment. We really appreciate it. 😃
Honestly, it wasn’t until the night before that I realized this ride had a virtual queue. Heck, I hadn’t been to Disney since 2013, so I suppose I should have come more prepared. So when I was searching for EPCOT videos, I did not see anyone rope drop Guardians and wondered why. That’s when I saw this video! Helped me understand and was able to get it at 7am the next day! Thank you so much!!!!
Awesome! So glad to hear our video was helpful. Hope you had an amazing Epcot day! Thanks for watching. 😃
Rob, thank you so much for your incredibly informative and enjoyable videos. We used all of your tactics to a huge benefit. Played Disney slots several times to get better hours. On one occasion, a 7PM return time to 11:45. Incredible stuff! Thanks again!!!
Nice job as always! So much value in these videos.
Thanks, Arun!
Thank you thank you so much! The screen shots are extremely helpful! Great job!
Thank you - and good luck!!! 🍀
Hi! I am a Florida resident Disney buff. BUT I have not been in over a year (unusual for us) and everything is new and I am freaking out! I knew the system and was like our family travel agent. Your videos are putting me at such ease and you have taught me so much!!! We will be there in two weeks and I feel
Like we will survive. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!
Awesome - that’s great to hear. If you were comfortable with FastPass, you will pick up on Genie pretty quickly. Thanks so much for watching and good luck with those Genie Slots! 🍀🧞♂️🎰
So helpful! We used your way and booked the virtual queue (free) successfully!
You have excellent tips and teach them very well! Love your channel, it deserves more subscribers.
Thank you! We feel so blessed to have such a great community of subscribers who support our channel and ask great questions that inspire us to go out and make new videos. 😃
Thank you so much for this great video. I don't have any experience getting virtual queue passes but thanks to your advice, I was able to get passes . Your advice was so good, I got group 2! Thanks 😊
Wow - that’s a great spot! Congratulations. I hope you enjoyed the ride. What song did you get? And thanks for watching - we really appreciate it. 😀
Thank you for making this seem like an easy process. I am soooooo happy I came across your page. We go in july 2022!
Thank you for watching! It’s really not too bad other than the timing. The 1:00 has become much easier to grab now. The other day, they still had 1:00 reservations for over an hour. Hope you have an amazing trip! 😃
Your videos are amazing, very informative and very easy to follow. I am so glad I came across your channel
Thanks so much for watching and leaving such supportive comments. We really appreciate it!
I just did 1 minute ago exactly how you mentioned and worked perfectly, thank you for the tip… appreciated a lot
Awesome! We were in Epcot today, too. Hope you enjoyed the ride!
Thank you so much for this video, I had no idea how the virtual queue works at Disney World and your video has helped me for my next vacation. I really appreciate it 🙂
Thank YOU so much for watching. 😃 Our goal is always to try to make things easier for people so they can focus on enjoying their vacation. Hope you have a great trip!
Thank you for the tips! Headed there in a little over a month and this will be so helpful. 😊
Your videos always answer my questions. Thanks for posting.
Thank you. Having the screenshots helps do much! 😊
Hands down my favorite attraction ever, me and my wife could not stop screaming and having fun in this amazing ride
It’s one of my favorites, too. We ride it every time we’re in Epcot. Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much. This is literally the most helpful video I’ve seen on virtual queues. ❤
We’re so glad it was helpful for you. Thanks for watching! 😃
I learned my lesson last year when the Ratatouille Ride came out and it was only available with Virtual Queue. Coming more prepared now and hopefully me and my family will be able to get on Cosmic Rewind and Ratatouille next week. Thank you sm!
Good luck Samantha! You got this. 🙌 Thanks for watching! 😃
Thanks for the tips - snagged a boarding group this AM for today - group 80!! Hope to see you there - we had an EPIC day yesterday and loads of Genie (and weather) luck on our side!
That’s awesome - congratulations! We already hopped to Hollywood Studios, but hope you had a great day at Epcot. It’s been a BUSY day today. Genie has been stingy with those Lightning Lanes. 🤣
Thanks so much for watching!
@@EarScouts we are also at HS! Heading from TSM to wait for ROTR!
@@jennsoilyobsessions5758 We’re doing Smuggler’s Run. ROTR is our favorite way to end the day. Have fun storming the Star Destroyer!

Thank YOU so much for watching! 😃
We are at Epcot Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. I followed your strategy to get into the virtual queue and it worked! We scored an early group at 9:40 this morning. Thank you for the tips! Looking to repeat the magic when we go to Magic Kingdom and attempt to get in line for Tron!
Good luck! 🍀 🤞 Thanks for letting us know how things went at Epcot. We’ll be there tomorrow for an epic Epcot day. 😅
Followed your instructions and was able to get group 54 for our group of 7. Thank you!
Nicely done! 🙌 Hope you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to let us know how everything went - we really appreciate it!
thanks for your good explanation step by step... I hope to get one of those boarding group for my visit at the end of the month! :)
Thanks so much for watching - and good luck!!! 🍀🤞
Such awesome instructions! Thanks!
Thank YOU for watching! 😃
Geez, dude!! Your explanation was fantastic!! I cannot believe the hassle you have to go through. Good luck to all who try to get the lightning lane.
Thanks for posting your tips videos, they really help. Managed to get a boarding group in the morning yesterday and at 1pm today. Not sure if this is something new but today, the Disney app was showing that more boarding groups were available from 6pm too. Steve
Hi Steve! Glad to hear you got a boarding group! Hope you enjoyed the ride. Yes, on days when Epcot has extended evening hours, they do another drop at 6, but you have to be staying at a qualifying hotel to book it. Thanks for watching! 😃
im going in a few weeks your videos are super helpful.
Thanks Rob. Hoping to get on this ride in October and thus these tips seem invaluable 👍🏻
I wanted to give huge shout out to Ear Scouts! We watched all these videos your wrote on Genie Plus. It was great advice. We used app as in instructed played tge "spinner app" and as soon as we got into a ride we spin again , there was 5 of us and like every 35 min we had great rides. I was incharge of spinning one phone one app then selected all of us.
Your advice was priceless.
Note it poured rain hard, but was only more fun since indoor rides still going with like no wait, got ponchos
Hi Lance! So glad to hear the Genie Slots worked well for you. 😃 Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to let us know how your trip went - we really appreciate it!
Great instructions on how to “possibly” ride Guardians of the Galaxy. Thank you.
Thanks, Dan! 😃
I’m happy we’re here in early September, woke up at 8, changed my park reservation from AK, and at 8:25 was easily able to get a later VQ. No fuss! This week has been great and we’ve been on everything we’ve wanted to so far thanks to your tips and the lower crowds. Our longest wait anywhere was actually on the Alien Swirling Saucers even with a LL because half the ride was down! More like a walk on everywhere else, even ROTR at night after it reopened (and it shut down again as we finished the ride right at park close). Thank you, your tips are 100% the best anywhere.
We were at Hollywood Studios the other night and did all the big rides (including Rise) in about 3 hours without Genie Plus. You picked a great time to come! Thanks for watching our videos - we’re glad you found them helpful! 😃
We are going next week. Might get Genie+ every day just to be safe. Haven't been in 10 years so really want to get the most out of it. At each park for one day. Then a fifth day reserved at MK then park hop wherever. One day at Universal IOA. Did you get genie+ for your trip every day?
Hey Rob - Loved the video and thank you for all the helpful tips and information. Any insight as to if it has been any easier to get the virtual queues or lightning lanes? Future Rob said it was easier a couple days later in the video but will be in Epcot in November with basically one shot (day) to get on.
Hello and thank you! Yes, it is generally easier to get the Virtual Boarding Group than it was the first day. Of course it depends a lot on how busy the park is, but we have still never not been able to get a boarding group on a day that we have an Epcot park pass reservation. Good luck! 🍀
Thank you ! I had no idea how to actually use the app. Great info 💥
Thanks Heather - glad you found it helpful! 😃
Super awesome to see you at H2O glow nights Saturday on Crushin Gushers........loved the ears. Great Video here....thanks for all the information
Thanks! What did you think of the event? I’m still editing the footage from it. I hope we have a chance to have a chat next time we bump into each other at the parks - hopefully we won’t be racing around getting RUclips footage. 🤣
@@EarScouts of course We will have to share a drink or a snack somewhere. I wish they would have let it go for longer. 3.5 official hours are pretty short but it was a good time
That would be great. We agreed that it felt too short. I also kinda wished there were more lighting effects. Crush n Gusher could have been so cool if they wrapped it in chasing rope lights. The conga line with Stitch was amazing, though. 🥳
Thank you so much for this video!
Thank you for watching! Good luck snagging a boarding group next time you’re in Epcot! 🍀
So stressful 😳 thanks for holding our hands through this
It has gotten a lot easier since this video was made. We always get a slot in the morning these days (as long as we book it right at 7am). Good luck! 🍀
Thanks for your video, it really helped. I absolutely figured out how to nab a 7am queue with ease. I'm 3/3 so far, groups 2, 46 and 9! Definitely go with wifi turned off, close out ALL apps on the phone (even DMX). Start at 653am (making sure your entire group has EPCOT reservations). Go to the virtual queue and use the "Refresh" button. But here's my difference, don't mash the button as fast as you can 🤔. Instead, look at the little "edit" button next to your party. As the page refreshes, the button goes light blue, so any mashing during that time will just lock it up and it won't be refreshing. As soon as it turns back to dark blue, hit the refresh button. If at any time the button doesn't turn light blue, then "pull to refresh" to unlock it. Go back to doing my button trick. You will notice it changes colors at different intervals. Just keep looking at the edit button and time refreshes with the color change. Guaranteed you will join a queue exactly at 7am! Good luck.
Interesting - I’ll have to try out this method next time. Thanks for sharing! 😃
@@EarScouts Possible update, I'm on an Android (Pixel 5a). My wife has an iphone and said her "edit" button never changed color??? Just an FYI.
@@FlyingMedic-ry4yn Interesting. Thanks for letting us know.
Great info! We are solely going to EPCOT in March to ride this ride. We've never ridden it. We are definitely taking your tips. We will not be in a Disney hotel.
Hi Mackintosh!
Thanks so much for watching! March is a great time to be at the parks. We hope you get a great boarding group without any hassle and enjoy the ride as much as we do. Have a great trip!
thank you so much for the tips. We are going to Disney next, will try your trick.
Hope your trip went well! Thanks for watching! 😃
Thanks for this video - helped our daughter and husband get their slot :)
sorry one other question - this is a virtual queue now, usually how long does that stay in place as we do not come out till Sep 2023, could it have come off by then?
So glad to hear it! 😃
Hard to say. Rise of the Resistance was on a Virtual Queue for a lot longer than Remy. My guess is they will leave it on Virtual Queue for at least another 6 months or so, but they might take it off sooner than they did with Rise because it seems to run very efficiently and they move a lot of people through that ride very quickly. I’d say it is possible they’ll still have it then, but not likely.
Hey Rob, thank you for all your videos. Silly question for you. Once I get a ride that "requieres" ILL and I get a spot, would I lose my place at the time of paying? Or how that specific part works. Thanks is advance.
Snafu - great word! Love your videos!
Thanks for watching! I used to play a video game called Snafu when I was a kid. I think I use that word a lot because of that. I guess video games didn’t entirely “rot my brain” like my parents said they would. 🤣
You are awesome! Got group 8!!!
Nicely done! 🙌 That’s an impressive start to your Epcot day. Hope the rest of the day went as well. 😃
Thanks for the tips, summer vacation coming soon
Thank YOU for watching - hope you have a great trip! 😃
This was so helpful. Disney has changed ALOT from when I last visited. 😅
Great tips thanks so much! Do we have to have a park reservation for epcot to grab a ILL? We have park hopper and I thought we could grab the ILL even if Epcot wasn't our first park.
Yes - you can pay for the Individual Attraction LL even if Epcot is your second park, just make sure you book a time after 2pm. Getting a Virtual Boarding Group is next to impossible if Epcot is not your first park, though. Thanks for watching! 😃
Love your videos ❤️My husband and I have the same Disney experience account on our phones can one of us grab the virtual queue and the other grab the lightning lane at the same time even if it’s the same account? Or is that even necessary?
Thanks so much Rob, we haven’t been since 2019 an I have a reputation of being over prepared and super knowledge that i need to protect. Quick question, I don’t have an Epcot park pass only 2 park day and reservations for Hollywood studios and Magic kingdom, but hopping both days possibly to Epcot, is there another option for virtual queue at 6pm with late hours for resort guests?
That’s awesome - I love that you are protecting your reputation as the Disney World Guru. 😃
Yes - it is possible to join a 6pm queue IF you are staying at a Deluxe Resort (including DVC villas) AND you are there on a night when Epcot offers extended resort hours. You can check that here: disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/extended-evening/
We hope you have an amazing trip and good luck with that 6pm boarding group. 🍀
Thanks for the tips! Can you clarify for me... while I am trying to get the virtual cue, can someone else in my group be trying to get the individual lightning lane? Kind of divide and conquer?
Thanks for the great videos! When you're setting up for your virtual queue you have the Confirm your party. You mention setting that up ahead of time to make sure your party is good to go, even when you arrive at your resort. Hiw far in advance can that be set up? I have epcot reservation for a couple weeks out & see GOG in the virtual queues, but have no Confirm Party button.
Hi Michelle! I think you can start at midnight on the day of your visit. We’re going to Epcot this weekend and I’ll try to remember to note when I can start forming my group for the Virtual Queue. Thanks for watching! 😃
Hi this is a great vlog for tips on how to join a virtual queue I didn’t know how to do that before your vlog. Do you know whether if you are in one of the deluxe hotels and park hop into Epcot after 2pm, if you can try to join the virtual queue at 6pm or do you have to have a park pass for the day?
So glad you enjoyed it! The good news is that you do not need a park pass to get the extended evening hours boarding group at 6, but you do need a ticket or annual pass that allows you to park hop and you need to be staying at a deluxe resort on the day that Epcot offers extended hours (typically Mondays). Thanks for watching!
Your videos are so informative! I love how you show screen shots of what you’re talking about. Let’s say I’m lucky enough to get a VQ spot for GoG (or Tron) and someone in our party chickens out? Can you cancel it like a lightning lane selection?
Hi Jocelyn! Sadly, there are no refunds. You could speak with a Cast Member and maybe they would let you transfer the Individual Attraction Lightning Lane to someone else in the party, but I’m not sure how that would work. DO NOT just have someone else use their Magic Band/ticket. You can actually get kicked out of WDW if you’re caught (which is, admittedly, unlikely, but not worth the risk). Thanks for watching! 😃
EDIT: I see now that you were asking about a Virtual Queue and not an Individual Attraction Lightning Lane. No need to cancel the VQ - they can’t offer it up to anyone else anyway.
Thanks for your videos!! I’m not staying on property 😢 and was wondering at what time am I able to purchase $ a lightening lane??
Very helpful, thank you! One question I do have is how long are you waiting in the actual queue once your boarding group is called? Does it go by fast or do you need to plan to wait a while before you actually get on the ride?
Oops you answered my question at the end of the video! This was SO HELPFUL!!!
We have found that the wait time varies a bit. Never longer than 30 minutes, though…at least not yet. 🤞 Have fun saving the galaxy!
I just had to let you know because my wife doesn't understand my excitement, but I followed these steps exactly and scored a spot in boarding group ONE! Thanks for all the great videos. I was very overwhelmed when I found out how complicated Disney World has become (I'm from the paper fast pass era at DL, lol) but thanks to all of your great content I am feeling very prepared for this trip and had a great start to our first morning! Thank you so much!!!
Wow! Nicely done! 🙌 Hope you guys have an amazing vacation. 😃
So if we were planning to go to Epcot as our 2nd park of the day on a park hopper ticket we would not be able to sign up for a virtual queue? Love your videos, so helpful!
first, let me thank you for all of your effort, it is much appreciated, I think you should add the date you visited and it is presented in the video, it is another indication for crowd levels
Your videos are so helpful. We are coming in May and I have a question about the 1pm virtual queue. If we plan to go to a water park in the morning and then Epcot in the afternoon (having an Epcot reservation), can we tap into the park as it opens, then go to water park and tap in there and join the virtual queue from the water park at 1pm? Or will the fact that we've tapped into the water park negate our earlier tap in at Epcot? Thanks so much
Hi Gem! As long as you tap in once, you can go wherever you like and still qualify for the Virtual Queue. Hope you have a great trip! 😃
Thanks for this video. I will be arriving at Disney World around 2 pm and I am going to Epcot. When buying an ILL can I bypass an earlier time and wait for a later return time?
Thanks for watching! The good news is that you can choose a later return time when you book an Individual Attraction Lightning Lane. Unfortunately, you can’t do the same with the Virtual Boarding Group, but you never know - you might get lucky and there will still be some available at 2pm. It’s rare, but it does happen. Hope you have a great trip! 😃
I have a question I am hopeful you can help me with. We are only planning on park hopping to Epcot one afternoon. We are staying at a DVC resort. When you book a virtual queue do you have any day in what time or boarding group you get? We obviously wouldn’t be in the park until after 2pm so if I was assigned an early spot we couldn’t use it. Thanks!
Great info!!! 🙌🏼👏🏼
I’ve had success w the 1 PM slot! WHAT SONGS DID YOU GET? We had “I Ran” by Flock of Seagulls twice and “September” by Earth Wind & Fire 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Loved it!💫❤️🌟💫
September is Erick’s favorite. Mine is Disco Inferno. I like how I Ran makes the ride feel very different. The same happens with Everybody Wants to Rule the World.
@@EarScouts YES!!! I so agree w you!!!👍🏼💯✨
Thank you so much! Your videos have been so helpful in preparing us for our Disney trip. I did have a question. Since we are not staying on property, do we still need to try to get on the virtual queue in the morning? Or should we just try for the 1pm. Thanks again!
Hello! Everyone can join the virtual queue at 7am as long as they have a park pass for Epcot that day - you don’t need to be staying on property. The only benefit you get for staying on property is that you can book an Individual Attraction Lightning Lane starting at 7am. Everyone else can book them when the park opens. We should also note that everyone can book Genie Plus Lightning Lanes at 7am whether they are on property or not. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much!
Great video! Do you know if it causes issues if people in the same party are trying to join the line queue at the same time?
Hi Brad - this shouldn’t be a problem. It will just cause someone to error out if the other person books. That said, we haven’t tried this. We usually have one person focus on VBG while the other person focuses on a Genie Plus Lightning Lane. Be careful with multiple people trying to book Genie Plus Lightning Lanes at the same time. That can mess you up when one of you gets a great return time and the other person has already locked into something worse. Good luck! 🍀
Thanks for your video. Did you have to wait 3 hours in the queue? Or did you use those 3 hours to visit the park?
The queue is usually very quick. We used the 3 hours to enjoy the park. Thanks for watching! 😃
Excellent info
Thank you for all you do! I go next week and pray I can get all this together! 10 people 😳!
Fantastic video. Quick question. How long do you have to return for your boarding group? Is it 1 hour like LL reservations?
Thank you - and thanks for watching! You are correct. You have one hour from the time your boarding group is called to tap in, though there is a grace period, as well. We’ve been a few minutes late before and not had a problem. Hope you enjoy the ride!
If I have park hopper to enter Epcot at 2 pm, will the mydisneyexperience app know to schedule my virtual queue after 2 pm if I get one at 7 am?
Thank you for the screen shots and clear explanation! How long do you expect this ride will be on a virtual queue? Thank you!!
That’s a great question. My guess is at least through summer. Maybe when things slow down in the fall, they might transition it to a regular standby. Honestly, I hope it stays on virtual queue for as long as possible. Not looking forward to the inevitable 2-plus hour wait time.
Thanks for watching!
@@EarScouts I agree! Virtual queue is much better than stand by! Thanks for your reply!
Genie+ question: does getting a boarding queue number for Guardians count as a Lightning Lane?, or are they treated separately? Per the rules Im reading, we have to wait 120 minutes to signup for another lightning lane after we signup for one - but this seems different, maybe....thanks for any advice on that!
Great question. Thankfully, these systems are separate and do not impact one another. You can book a virtual queue and/or Individual Attraction Lightning Lane without impacting your Genie Plus Lightning Lane availability. Thanks for watching! 😃
Hi Rob!! Thank you for taking the time to chat at Magic Kingdom! It was nice to meet you! Wanted to let you know that I was able to snag a virtual que for 6 by using your tips! Keep up the good work :)
That’s great news! I really enjoyed meeting you, as well. Can’t wait to see where your future adventures take you here on RUclips! 😃
Thanks for great info
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching. 😀
Love your videos! My family of 5 will be at Epcot on 11/20. If we don't get a boarding pass at the 7am time, do you recommend waiting to see if we can get one at the 1pm time or go ahead and purchase the ILL? Thank you for your help! It's so appreciated!
Hi Heather. We have literally never NOT gotten a boarding pass. The day we filmed this video was probably the most competitive it will ever be (the park was packed to the gills and we were pretty much all there to ride Guardians) and even then we got one in the afternoon. That said, worst case scenario if you pay is that you get to ride twice. 🤷♂️ Not too bad, really. 😂 Thanks for watching! 😃
@@EarScouts Thank you!
Sorry I am mid video - but if I want a chance to ride twice -- do you recommend joining VQ right at 7 then trying LL+?
Let's Say I snag VQ at 7 and LL+ sells out? I can try the LL+ at 1pm again? Thank you for the help!
So if we are doing Park Hopper but not starting at Epcot either day, we can't join the virtual queue, right? (Since we won't have a reservation nor can we join in Epcot at 1pm because we can't hop until 2pm.)
Thanks for this information. Your videos are enormously helpful for planning! I love that you show the rides with music so that I can peak at them but mostly keep my eyes closed to avoid too many spoilers :)
Correct - it is nearly impossible to do Guardians if you don’t start your day at Epcot or pay for the Individual Attraction Lightning Lane. Thanks so much for watching! I never thought about the fact that the music would help people avoid spoilers. 😃
Can you get an ILL at Epcot if you’re not starting the day at Epcot?
Great video! Any tips on how to get a ride if I am park hopping mid-afternoon to Epcot? Can I purchase an individual lightning lane early in that morning (even though my park pass is for my first park to visit - like MK)? Thanks for all the tips!
Hi Ana - yes, your best (and likely only) option would be to purchase the Individual Attraction Lightning Lane. If you are staying at a Disney hotel, you can book starting at 7am. If not, you can book at the time the park opens. If booking at park open, you should plan to book right at that moment as they typically won’t last long, especially on busy days. Thanks for watching!
@@EarScouts GREAT! Thank you SO so much. Loving all your videos!
Hi Rob, another great videos, thank you…. Just a quick question… we are coming from the UK but I noticed you said to turn off Disney wi-fi….. why is that?
Disney’s wifi is pretty terrible. It is slow and goes down a lot. If it goes down while you are trying to book a boarding group (which is quite possible with everyone trying to use it at that same time to do the same thing) you’ll miss out. Good luck and thanks for watching!
@@EarScouts Thank you for taking the time to respond, greatly appreciated
Can my husband and I be on at the same time on our phone and one of us try to get the virtual queue and if we miss it, then the other person be ready to go for the Lightning Lane?
This is why I love your channel so much! I’m pretty comfortable with Genie+, but never done a virtual queue. I love the screen by screen to alleviate my anxiety around scoring these. Thank you!!!
Thanks so much for watching. If you are comfortable with Genie, this will be a piece of cake. You’ve got this! 🙌 Thanks so much for watching and good luck! 🍀
So in 2 weeks I’m goin to Magic Kingdom first and then goin into Epcot at 2pm when I can park hop. Is it possible to join the queue at 1pm if I’m inside Magic Kingdom? Or just hope for a lightning lane
Thanks for the info. Couple of Questions...
1) How many LL can you buy a day?
2) If you can buy more then one, can they be in multiple parks?
3) Should everyone in my party try for a virtual cue or only one person?
4) Is there more then one virtual cue per park or is GOTGCR the only one.
Your video was excellent in explaining the steps!!!!
Thanks for watching!
1) You can buy an Individual Attraction Lightning Lane for every ride that offers them once per day. Currently, those rides are Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Rise of the Resistance, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Flight of Passage. It would be difficult to do all of those in one day because it would involve a lot of park hopping, but you technically “could.” All the other Lightning Lanes are included in Genie Plus and therefore not available individually. It is possible that some rides may go back to being Individual Attractions in August. If they do, that would add Space Mountain, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, Runaway Railway and Expedition Everest, but we suspect they may keep most of them with Genie Plus.
2) Yes, they can be in multiple parks - just make sure you have a ticket that allows you to park hop and don’t reserve any in the other parks until after 2pm when park hopping starts.
3) We tried having multiple people attempt to book the virtual queue and it allowed one of us to book it and the others errored out. Didn’t “hurt” anything, though. I’ve read online that this is a bad idea, but we had no problems.
4) Right now the only virtual queue is Cosmic Rewind.
Hope that helps! Have a great trip!
@@EarScouts Thank you so much for your insight. We haven’t been since 2019 and this new system is stressing me out! I’m also not a fan of having to wake up at 6:30am on vacation😵! I’m not sure what the best solution would be. Thanks again and I look forward to more of your videos. We had down this summer!!!
We 100% agree - 6:30am on vacation is no fun. We don’t even like 6:30am when we’re NOT on vacation. 😂
Hi, Rob! We love all your videos! Question: can we have our genie plus selection booked AND a virtual cue or individual lightning lane booked at the same time?
Hi! Yes, yes and yes. Though it might be tough to do all three in an hour. Thanks for watching! 😃
@@EarScouts Thanks, Ear Scouts! Do you recommend one of us use one phone for genie plus while another uses different phone (same account) for Virtual Queue simultaneously, or just do one and then the other on same device?
Thanks for all the advice. I know that there’s no guarantees but your screenshots and explanations make it feel much simpler and more manageable for us folks who haven’t used the new system at all. You’re a good teacher!
@@samisabafoon Thank you! I would recommend using two devices logged into the same account (or two linked accounts) over doing one first and then the other. If you decide to just do one first and then the other, definitely book the Genie Plus one first.
When it says “estimated wait” for the virtual queue does that mean how long it’ll take once your inside the line at the ride or how long until your group is called
Hi, I'm 7 days from our trip. I have an Android and Ginie for now. I followed the instructions at min 3:48. But all rides and attractions are listed on TIP, not just Guardians. Willl this change when I arrive or have Ginie Plus?
