The intermediate Tata 1512c cummins engines were good, They were loaded with lot of power and torque. I don't know why tata discontinued them and went back to the old sluggish 1510? Now APSRTC has both AL and Tata fleet with 160hp BSIII power horses (shown in the video) in their stable. As per my observation on highways, AL's completely dominates the TATA's with their brutal power and bigger turbo. even though they are a bit noisy, AL's always rule the hilly terrains. I love the braking of AL's. Yeah mention the very nice turbo whistling too. Thanks for sharing the great video sir,
Athreya Ak Glad you liked the video. I agree with your points except for the one where you mentioned that the AshLeys are noisier. O.o They are way more refined than their TATA counterparts which groan and vibrate the whole bus at higher rpms, the same rpms where AshLeys sound smooth and refined.
The Vid quality is awesome. The time frame is also lovely. it seems that driver is in a hurry to catch up to the depot. Ashley's are by far the best in buses; Love ASHLEY..
Very true about the TATA Buses. They very short gear throws/range and they usually run out of breath at higher rpms. While the might ALs have quite long gear ranges, which supplies loads of torque and power throughout the entire range which make them best suited for such hill climbs. And the Turbos on the AL is just a delight to listen to! :D
Hi dheeraj.. It was my childhood dream to become a bus driver.. as time changes, dream also changed,, but still have it in corner of my life.. I always prefer to sit in first row during day time journeys.. enjoy listening to the sound of the engine.. by the way destination of the bus is my home town.. BELGAUM
Its good to see that many share the same ambition..I am working as a business head in Bangalore but finally got my heavy licence..to accomplish my dream job in the near future.indeed sarige is the best one in Ksrtc.
Man that bus did the trip on fourth gear for most part! That's amazing. AL truly has the right combination for the powertrain. Have enjoyed all your videos. Keep it up! BTW try to get a trip on the AL rear engine with the 230hp engine. I think Vivegam has it in TN. Not sure who is running in KA. You will be amazed to see it matches up to volvo standards both in comfort and high speed cruisability.
KarnatakaSRTC buses don't have 6th or over drive gear unlike TNSTC or KeralaSRTC buses which hit triple digit on the speedo meter... And AL225hp RE is same as FE buses run by VRL in Karnataka, though it can't show its power in the straight as the limit is set to 80kmph, it simply dominates the Shiradi ghats (Hassan to Mangalore), forget about volvo B7R, not even B9R can stand against its mighty torque...!!
This Driver drives in a very high rpm, which is not good for the engine. If you are driving 60kmph or more better shift to 5th gear. This bus is constantly running in 60 to 80 kmph.
The bus is locked at 75kph and was already on 5th gear. A bus with top speed of 90ish will be in high rpm at 75kph as well. I'm sure the driver knows better than us on driving a new bus because he is directly responsible for any damage to the engine and is heavily reprimanded in case something goes wrong.
That rev match-downshift from 3rd to 2nd while overtaking the second truck...sweet driving:)
I know right
It's not 3rd to 2nd -- it's 4th to 3rd gear _(if gearbox is 5-speed)_ or 5th to 4th _(if gearbox is 6-speed)._
Leyland is always the king!!..h series engines are awesome👌
KSRTC now buys eicher and Tata but Leyland is the king✌️
from 2:20 to 3:08 - what a driving, especially from 2:54 to 3:00 - truly amazing
Now watching...2021👍👍💞
Beautiful..road💓 from..mizoram💢👌
Thankyou for this video. I like this type of bus sound very much. Please upload more like this with long duration.
love the turbo whistle at 5:10

He was driving pretty good, except for the overtakes in corners. That's rare.
And it's a good quality video. That's also rare.
Glad you liked it, thanks :)

Why do Indian drivers shift at very high RPMs?
How bad is it for the fuel consumption?

Is it 5 speed leyland 🤔
Yes
@@dheerajrao BS3 vikings only came with 6+1 gearbox right... mostly 1 st gear is not used by any
No they had 5+1 as well, I've personally checked.
@@dheerajrao 🤷🤷
@@dheerajrao which model year was it??
New Tata 1616 is best👍💯
Sure, but that's just your opinion.

It was new when I made this video 6 years ago. I don't need your validation.
He is wasting fuel..this is not good for a good driver
How is he wasting fuel?
Dheeraj Rao gear shifting is too long
