You need to charge the tourist board for showing Scotland in such a good light Eddy. Not sure why but the sun always seems to shine for you. Awra best pal, fae Fife! Edited to add the cafe`s name is `timorous beasty`. This is how Robert Burns describes a mouse in his poem `To a mouse` Here's the first verse. Wee, sleekit, cowrin, tim’rous beastie, O, what a panic’s in thy breastie! Thou need na start awa sae hasty, Wi’ bickering brattle! I wad be laith to rin an’ chase thee, Wi’ murdering pattle!
I spent a lot of time in Bridge of Allan when I was a student at nearby Stirling University and have fond memories of the place. It had a lot of pubs for such a small place
Your opening shot was from the Bridge of Allan! The river is the Allan water. And next time, you'll need to have a fish supper in the Allan Water cafe.
Eddy, I like Bridge of Allan it’s a nice wee town . In my opinion the Allan Water Cafe that you passed sell the best Fish and Chips in the whole Falkirk ,Stirling area . I normally go buy a fish supper take it down by the river to eat . You certainly crammed a lot into that visit 😂 Great video as always 👍
A strath comes from the gaelic srath which is a wide valley and areas usually have that couple with the local river like strathclyde, strathallan, strathcarron and so on. Narrow & deep valleys are the glens. Did my bronze practice DofE expedition in the ochils (the range of hills bridge of allan is on) and on the second day the mist came up from below covering the tops most of the morning. The group was bundled up in fleeces and waterproofs when a grey haired man in a kilt, open shirt, tartan bunnet, long wooden walking pole and pale as death strode out the mist, gave us a good morning as he walked past us and vanished off into the mist once again. Very surreal and we just kind of looked at each other with expressions of what the hell just happened.
So much hype for The Bridge of Allan Ive never seen before!! The locals do a braw job looking after all the plants and shrubbery along the all the streets there... Ye'll sometimes drive thru and see some of them in and about the plants wae there forks and buckets. Braw wee Village
There are lots of places whose names begin "Bridge of," followed by the name of the local river, Eddy. Usually, it's where the last bridge before the end of the river it's crossing is (or was) situated. The Allan Water flows into the River Forth a few hundred yards to the south, hence Bridge of Allan!
Eddy did you not notice something unique as you walked along Henderson Street ? Only one Pud (westerton arms) & NO Bookies . When was the last time you walked down the main street of a town to find one pub & no bookies ?. No fast foods either just cafe's & restaurant's . 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Eddy! I need some advice, I live in the USA and found Jaffa cakes at the store today! However I noticed they are made in Germany. Are these legit? Or some kind of German knock off? ....
Wee Timorous Beastie cafe - it's from a Rabbie Burns poem To a Mouse!

If they are German, they'll be better made.
...although made with less joy.
@@Strength-in-Union I'm not sure that the German engineering prowess extends to Jaffa cakes, the factory probably runs better though.
I have no idea, sorry 🤣
😂😂
