2:13: His partner lowkey removes the hub/rotor so it's out of the way for the control arm installment. What nice trick, sure wish he showed how to do that part too!
Did you take the tie rod off to be able to move the wheel assembly easily to line up the ball joint screw? I can't shake my wheel assembly easy as you did and I can't lift it over while moving the control arm to go in the hole.
Oh yeah, good point not to forget the shim. As usual Jim, this was a well documented process. Hope to see you soon in the new year. I'm going to retire next year so maybe I'll have more time.
Another excellent teaching when weather breaks I will watch attempt my first mechanic job on my fishing buddy lol. Just joking will have my catalyst converter changed as my check engine light is on. Jim, I will scroll for a video on your channel.
Any tricks for getting the rear bolt (vertical one) to reinstall? I had to grind the original out after it rusted to the bushing sleeve. The replacement bolt just keeps spinning and won’t catch now.
Jim hi I am a hyundai tech there was a re call out on the sub frame look it up if you get a chance. so jim I see you have a helper/partner today . im going on vacation in 2 weeks from the dealer I have been trying for a long time now to come visit you at your shop I just had to wait until I got time off from work . I will be off from dec 18th though the 23rd first vacation since 2014
From my research, the recall is only for the 2001-2003 Hyundai Elantra even though the 01-06 is the same. I don’t understand that. Mine broke, luckily I was going only 10pm. Hyundai said that they couldn’t help me out. This is the last Hyundai or Kia I will purchase.
