Nikki Nair is an American music producer and DJ. His music is better defined by its contradictions rather than its consistency. Nikki aims for his music to be as deep, silly, and chaotic as possible while still remaining honest, infectious, and easy to process. His attempt at striking this balance is likely the reason he has found and defined his own space in the nebulous world of electronic music.
His debut for LUCKYME®, Snake EP, sees Nair’s amorphous sound spread even further in a six-track riot of noisy hardware slammers. The EP title a nod to the Nair family, who adopt the serpent as their guardian, this release is a far cry from his recent 'song of the summer' with Hudson Mohawke, Set The Roof. Instead, we’re treated to a wild ride of rasping, swaggering tracks for only the most depraved dance floor moments.

His releases the past year and half have all been underwhelming and boring compared to his 60 or so tracks that were released prior. He went from envelope pushing electro, breakbeat and at times even adding minor pop elements while combining some of the most peak hour hard trance concepts rivaling that French scene such as Anetha. Instead of leaning into the general sound progression Europe is going through right now with hard techno, hard trance and everything in between, for whatever reason Nikki is ascribing to bedroom sounds that were big in the UK like 14 years ago.
