🌸 at the end of the song when you start hearing everything kind of blending together, it always reminded me of writing on a carousel.. hence the painted pony reference I think
Great song! Blood, Sweat & Tears is a jazz-rock music group founded in 1967. They are noted for their combination of brass & rock band instrumentation. Especially love their stuff when David Clayton-Thomas joined as their lead singer. They had a lot of great songs such as "Spinning Wheel", "You've Made Me So Very Happy", "And When I Die", "Hi-De-Ho", "Lucretia MacEvil", "I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know", "Go Down Gamblin'", "Lisa Listen To Me" etc.
This song is one of my earliest memories--- three years old, and I would dance in crazy circles through the kitchen, whenever this came on the radio..💃 Still LOVE this band to this day. Check out: Lucretia MacEvil God Bless the Child You Made Me So Very Happy And When I Die Hi-Dee Ho
They were fantastic musicians. Many hits! The music was all about making something unique, finding your own voice. Nothing better great musicians getting together to create . 💕
Music/Arts programs took a huge hit in the 1970's. I think that is a big reason music is in the state it is in right now. Lack of investment = less talent.
BS&T wee the real deal. Lots of great songs of theirs for you to listen to when you get a chance. And When I Die is my personal fav. Thanks for sharing this one.
That's the wrong title. It's 'Spinning Wheel'. These guys had the best horns of any jazz rock band, (sorry, Chicago), and the tightest overall. Although Tower of Power was close. David Clayton Thomas was an amazing soulful singer, too!
🌸 it's so funny because this is the very first memory I have is a really young little girl listening to the radio and loving this song... I was probably 4 years old...(I think at 4 years old The painted pony part was my favorite lol)
This song reminds me of some random afternoon and I'm in my Mom's car after she picked me up from Summer school, must've been 2nd grade because the Summer school included swimming lessons and that was a lot of fun, and this song was on the radio. So this song always conjures up that ride home. Funny how some songs stick to random memories for the rest of your life.
i used to race semi pro mountain biking. Not that good but....this song!!! Omg, this was on my first gen Ipod. I had cut holes in my helmet and routed some speakers so I could hear during rides , yet be light weight and be able to hear traffic ! This song was on my training sound track....3 times!!!! So good for an endurance work out. Churn hard than Snap...power, then churn, and go off on the solo's ! great way to break up the same ol 40 mile loop.
Thanks Mugs, thought you would like it. Oh Sorry thought I had suggested this one lol. I was going to anyway. God Bless the Child is Great Too. I requested Spinning Wheel.. In those days you went to a record store, it would have record players and you could listen to the song and buy it if you liked it. Of course you knew already you liked it but sometimes didn't have the cash. lol
And its another band like Blood sweat and tears. Called Chicago they play rock and jazz and pop also that's why. I listen to nothing but old school r&b soul jazz rock pop I have a thousand CDs of bands this song Spinning wheels came out in 1969 and this song was sampled many times
Basically these bands came from band students in school, so that's why the horn parts are the way they are, reminiscent of big band and more whimsical symphonic band vibes. Think (white) high school band
Awesome reaction! You really hit the nail on the head when saying that today's music just doesn't have this level of genuine artistry and creativity. Musicians make great music, not AI.
GREAT RECTION! You might as well just go through the whole album, start to finish! There isn’t a bad song on the entire thing. Just found your channel!
You’ll want to listen to their God Bless the Child tune It’s unreal Also listen to And When I Die. It’s killer!
🌸 at the end of the song when you start hearing everything kind of blending together, it always reminded me of writing on a carousel.. hence the painted pony reference I think
The name of this tune is "Spinning Wheel." My favorite is "You've Made Me So Very Happy."
They dont make em like this anymore. Great reaction !
I grew up with this fantastic music. I love this song.

I’m 60 and this is a fond memory from my childhood!
You have a few years on me but, same here❤ great song! (I'm 55)
Same here.(59-2/3rds) Founding member of GenX.
Please go down this rabbit hole!
So many other great BS&T songs for you. Lucretia MacEvil; Go Down Gambling and their mighty cover of the Billy Holliday song, God Bless the Child.
I always think of riding the merry go round when that music plays at the very end. Ride a painted pony.

Lucretia Mac evil is a great track from them
Great observation on the complexity of the music. I think those are recorders at the end - they sound like flutes. Great reaction.

This also reminds me of riding home from school!
Whereas it reminds me of being in the car coming home from the beach.
Great choice!
I love Blood Sweat and Tears. Thanks.
More please ❤❤❤❤

This song brings me back instantly to seventh grade music class😂❤

You need to listen to their song And when I die next.
Great band, great music. Everyone loves: Hi-Dee-Ho, And When I Die, God Bless The Child, You Make Me So Very Happy.
"I love you more than you'll ever know" ❤
1968 is when a lot of these songs came out. Never thought i would say, the good old days, but man, when it comes to music-
Big bands still exist, give the band Snarky Puppy a listen. Try there song lingus.
Always loved hearing this when I was a kid.
"Microwave music" ?!?! That's effin' genius. Best characterization I've heard all year! I'm a subscriber now.🙃
Forgot about this one.
Another piece of my early youth soundtrack.
Sooooo cool❤😂😂😢🎉😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Listen to their „God bless the Child“, originally sung by the great Billy Holiday. It is incredible, complex, and brings in many genres!
And its another band like Blood sweat and tears. Called Chicago they play rock and jazz and pop also that's why. I listen to nothing but old school r&b soul jazz rock pop I have a thousand CDs of bands this song Spinning wheels came out in 1969 and this song was sampled many times
The late great Lew Soloff on trumpet!
Basically these bands came from band students in school, so that's why the horn parts are the way they are, reminiscent of big band and more whimsical symphonic band vibes. Think (white) high school band
I went out and bought this album as soon as it hit!
You nailed it. This kind of music-making was on a mass scale back then. Not anymore.
This song horn riff at the beginning and in the middle was sampled by a lot of hip hop rappers
Awesome reaction! You really hit the nail on the head when saying that today's music just doesn't have this level of genuine artistry and creativity. Musicians make great music, not AI.
☮️💙💙💙🔥🔥😎
The last bit is the music they was play on old Merthyr rounds,
These guys are from Canada. 1973
Don't know where they're all from, but this was released in 1968.
GREAT RECTION! You might as well just go through the whole album, start to finish! There isn’t a bad song on the entire thing. Just found your channel!
The entire album needs to be listened to uninterrupted. God Bless the Child was originally done by the great Billie Holliday and DCT did it right.
The year 1969
This is not "God bless the child ".........????????????????????
