Codependancy within my family is demonstrated via "caretaker vs. disabled" dynamic. Over the years my mother's relationship with my older sister (who has down syndrome) has gone from both being self-sufficient to my mother catering to my sister's every need...which sadly but true, my sister plays on my mother's intelligence. My mother will baby her at 46yrs. of age, but the rest of the family won't. For some reason, my mother has reverted in her behaviors and treats my sister as if she is still and child who isn't capable of thinking or doing for herself and will get mad with family members when the topic is addressed.
Wow this video seems to describe many of my family members including myself. I was raised to take care of others but through the years it has gotten out of hand. Thank you. Great video !!!😊
@@sureenagurrola7352 thank you for you support. Sometimes we think we are helping others, but an actuality we’re hurting them and stunting their growth.

I believe we all have some form of codependency characteristics. The key is to have a balance.
I like to help people too much. I had to pull back because it got me in trouble.
Stop trying to save everyone. Save yourself. You count too!!
