Any other weird/interesting Steam Deck accessories you guys have come across?
Booting the OS from the SD card is not sketchy at all botocera is an established retro emulation software
Anything purchased from Aliexpress is sketchy…
@@SmokinSiliconblah blah blah
You should research retro emulation for PC and I think you'll have a much better experience with this
Go into the emulation settings and you can fix sound issues in lots of other issues
I think I’ve had a smoother experience with the Batocera OS. The only big issue is that most Nintendo systems will default to that button swapped layout.
I kept yelling at the screen "NO" every time 😑
Wow you used a special edition OLED for a sketchy SD card?
For ultimate sketchiness
you could also just move over all roms, format the card for emudeck and move the roms into their designated folders.
Essentially what this is, is a micro sd card that had an emulation focused distro of Linux called Batocera preinstalled, with a bunch of roms included.
You can do this with any microsd card btw. Batocera is free and open source and designed to be run from external storage like usb drives, portable hard drives, and SD cards. It's typically installed to the SD card using something like Balena Etcher, then you would transfer roms to it.
BTW, the front end that Batocera uses is called EmulationStation DE. You can actually install that on other Operating systems if you just want the front end. On the Steam deck, RetroDeck uses the same front end, though there is an appimage for ES-DE as well on their website.
Dang price went up not even 24hrs after this vid
You ordered the card for LCD decks, they have a fix for OLED versions. But for $30 it saves hours upon hours, plus you're getting thousands of Roms you don't have to download. You can also go in and delete games from the ROM file and add some seeing all the bios are in there for every system.
You call this illegal? 😂
I thought it had videos of crimes .
I used to play Games from BATOCERA back in 2020
it depends on where its manufactured... some regions have their product sourced from different manufacturers which usually has slightly off color or fonts... its what happened with noctua fans as well when they started to have some manufactured in china... the brown was not the same as the original noctua ones but its 100% legit noctua fans.... the 256GB could be a perfect copy of that region's manufactured card and the 16gb you have are your region specific manufactured one had better color retaining in grey color.... its all in the name of profit margin....
It's Batocera you boot it through the SD card
I would still make a backup on your pc or transfer it to one of those other SD cards to have it available on both steam decks, I just don't trust those possible Chinese counterfeit cards
Personally I don't own a steamdeck but I use Emudeck and EmulationStation Desktop Edition to basically emulate a deck and run retro games and I love it but everything is run from a controller, mouse and keyboard won't work except for typing in names usually but you can use mnk inside of games just not in the ES-DE
what was that PS2 pinball game you were playing? that looked fun! :)
YOLO, Format and find out!
It's just batocera...
This was exciting 😂😂😂
Why booting not emulator
Is it hard? It's a nes game??
Nice
You should do a budget vs expensive pc build and see the differences, weither you could pull of a good budget pc and some tips to go along too!
