Hi, I just wanted to thank you for the instruction on lifting the battery connector to logic board with the pic. I was replacing the screen on an iPad when the digitizer stopped working. I couldn’t power off iPad so I had to disconnect the screen “live”. That messed up the display to where it was black and completely unresponsive. Lifting the connector killed the iPad and after reconnecting everything with ipad powered off, I was able to then power up with a good screen!!! I was ready to heat it up to remove the battery unnecessarily. You saved me tons of time. Thank you 🙏🏼
I am looking for a place to legitimately buy a logic boars and touch ID. I got scammed and bought an iPad thats lockes even though the owner said it wasn't. He showed me an unlocked one and then went to his car to 'pack it' but he swapped it for a locked one. I've had this ipad for over 4 years. I spent a lot of money on it and lost so much work and time because of the scam. I just need to make it work
Why do they say to take out all of the parts out to replace the battery? I removed the LCD screen. Then I took only one screw that secures the male battery contact. Heated the case to soften the adhesive holding the battery and then lifted the battery and pulled it out. Replacing the battery with the new one is a little tricky getting the new battery male contact back into the the female. Soften the adhesive below the female contact, and then lift the housing with your fingernail above the female contact to allow you to slide the male contact into the female. It is a bit tight. Then put the screw back in the contact and then press the new battery to secure it with the adhesive to the inside back of the iPad. Then just put the LCD Screen back in place and press it in to secure it with the adhesive. This worked for me. If you had to remove all of the part according to the instructions, the screws are so tiny that you would probably go insane trying to put everything back together.
I think it's important to mention that the video poster specifically mentions that this is an iPad air 2 disassembly. You guys keep thinking that he's trying to show us how to only change the battery? but it says even in the title, "how to take apart the iPad air 2, so I am assuming this means entirely. Otherwise, it seems like this guy does know what he's doing and if he was just changing the battery, he probably wouldn't take everything else out either. Nonetheless that is a very good point to bring up to those who are just changing the battery so no harm no foul👍🏽 but I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page😉👍🏽
The amount of heat is relative to the distance away from the display. Start far away from the display and bring it closer as needed to heat up the adhesive.
@@PowerbookMedic I read somewhere else to never use that size heat gun, but to use a narrower directed heat gun. What is it that I might damage if I don't stay close to the edge of the iPad?
@@bonitaburleson7445 If it gets too hot you risk burning the LCD and anything the iPad is on. When you use the heat gun the main issue you are concerned with is temperature. You can control temperature by the distance you hold the gun away and how long you direct the heat on any one spot. You don't want to direct the heat on any spot. You want to move it around to prevent one spot from getting too hot.
@@babascustomlegocreations8837 it makes a way bigger difference than you could ever imagine. Literally takes like 10% of the time w/ heatgun... not even even twice as fast but like 10 times as fast! I'm not even exaggerating. SO yes my friend, its definitely worth EVERY single penny 👍🏽
If you watch some french fries videos, you will come to the conclusion that buying at mcdonalds is easier and cheaper. Same principle here. It isn't that fries are harder to make at home, but that you are led to believe it is. In fact it's a lot more hassle to go buy at the shop unless you live right next to it.

What temp did you use for the air gun?

Once you disconnect the battery heat up the back and pull the battery out it’s that simple, no need to Remove everything
Thank you works great. To open the case I used a razor blade to cut thru the glue. It worked great but need to go very slowly and not deep.
can i put an a1566 motherboard in an a1567 housing?
On the motherboard there is a piece that does not come to buy it, it is right at the top, what will that be?
Well be continue?????
My hubby has a 1500W Electric Heat Gun. Will that be too much heat to remove the screen? What amount of heat gun are you using? Thanks.

U could use a blow dryer btw
SHOOT I mean a hair dryer, sorry about that
DeadRock 21 a hair dryer would take forever. Pick up a 20 dollar heat gun on Amazon
@@tnpbass22 does it really make a difference? i have been using a hair dryer for a while on full heat 🤔

Wow if you need to do all that to replace the battery, I think the $100 Apple wants to replace it isn't that bad. Nice video.
