A 2wd might have an advantage in the long straight rough sections, but everywhere else this truck heads wherever you point it-and quickly. Hours of threading a very fast 7,000lb thread through the eye of a needle. Now if someone could come up with an infrared helmet shield to cut through the dust lol...Impressive..
Amazing concentration and focus. Are you guys talking via head sets to call turns and points coming up? Going that fast it seems like you can look at your gps map for only fractions of a second while concentrating on what's actually coming your way at speed in front of you. You' guys have got some mad skills.
Yes they are, they have intercoms in their helmets to talk to eachother so the co driver can call out corners and other potential hazards coming and the driver can let the co driver know if they have a flat
The amount of constant impact and jostling the driver and navigator go through is crazy, how do they not have brain damage and internal organ damage after a race? Not sure who the star is here - the driver, truck, navigator or the camera's image stabilization 🤣😎. Impressive!!
It's quite smooth in there actually. Nowhere as rough as it looks, or maybe I just don't notice it racing lol! One thing I can say truthfully though, nowhere near enough credit to the Engineers, Fabricators, Welders, Engine, Transmission builders and Electricians who design and build these things. 90% of racing is done in the workshop!

I completely agree, these machines are incredible - the people who build and maintain them have to be the best around. I can't imagine a piece of machinery that gets more abuse than desert trucks. Pretty incredible! Thanks for posting this, it's a lot of fun for us to watch this content👍✌
Would be curious to know if and how many spectators have ever been injured by a vehicle on the course. There in the middle of the track dam near. Crazy!

It would be hard to hang onto the wheel and operate the paddle shifter without wrapping the thumbs.

Yeah, people get hit every year. Sometimes multiples. A lot of the spectators start drinking pretty early and stupidity takes over.
