WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF A JOB INTERVIEW? 02:10
A job interview is designed to find out which candidate has the skills, strengths, and aptitude to do the job to a good standard. The hiring manager is looking for an energetic candidate who has similar qualities and knowledge to those featured in the job description.
HOW TO PREPARE FOR A JOB INTERVIEW - 5 THINGS YOU MUST DO! 02:53
#1. Make sure you RESEARCH the company you are applying to work for. Look at their website ABOUT US page, find out what products and services they sell, and follow them on social media so you are aware of their latest news stories.
Most candidates are only interested in a paycheck, and they don’t really care which company they work for - those candidates are the ones the hiring manager wants to avoid hiring at all costs. Researching the company shows a genuine desire to work for the company long-term, and that will give you an advantage over the other candidates.
#2. Read the job description and highlight the SKILLS AND QUALITIES needed in the position. Then, when the hiring manager asks you what are your greatest strengths, make sure you reference those skills and qualities in your answer. Very soon, I will give you a brilliant sample answer to the question, what are your greatest strengths, so you know exactly how to answer it.
#3. Make sure you carefully consider the outfit you wear for your interview. Some people will tell you that you don’t need to wear a smart and professional-looking outfit to an interview-but they are wrong. Wearing a smart outfit, such as a suit, tells the hiring manager you have high personal standards and that you genuinely care about making a good impression at your interview.
#4. Practice your answer to the first interview question, tell me about yourself! You are going to be the most nervous at the start of the job interview, and because this will be the first question you must answer, you must give a confident answer.
Practicing your answer in front of a friend of relative, or even sat in front of a mirror, will really help get your job interview off to a flying start! Again, very soon, I will give you a brilliant sample answer to the question, tell me about yourself that you can use in your interview.
#5. Ensure you know what you will do in the first 30 days of starting work for their company. One of the hardest questions to answer in job interviews, and one that lots of people fail on is… what will you do in the first 30 days of starting work for our company
The hiring manager is asking this question because they want to make sure you have a plan for giving them a great return from your salary once you start work. Again, very soon, I will give you a top-scoring answer to this tough interview question!
HOW TO OVERCOME INTERVIEW NERVES 06:45
Everybody gets nervous at job interviews, especially if they are new to them or if they haven’t attended an interview for a long time. People get nervous because they don’t know what to expect during the interview process and are worried about being unable to answer the questions!
However, to reduce interview nerves to a level where you can perform to the best of your ability, remember this…
A job interview is just a meeting between you and a potential employer. The interview is designed to not just assess whether you are the right fit for the job, but to also make sure you want to work for their company, too.
If you don’t get the job, it is not the end of the world… there will be another opportunity for you just around the corner!
Don’t worry about the interview. Instead, prepare top-scoring answers to the most-asked interview questions and enjoy the experience!

Currently been out of work since Feb. I've been watching your videos like clockwork.
I was hoping if you could do a video on how react when you don't get the job after a job interview.
I've had 8 job interviews so far and 7 haven't progressed past the 1st or 2nd round of interviews. I'm just getting told via phone or email the generic reason as someone else was the right fit.
I'm losing confidence in job hunting and I have two interviews in two days time and I'm barely hanging in there to be positve and upbeat.

I would like to ask for opinion, I got two option, a job in IT industry but not position I want as it does not relate to developing a software OR I also got to enter my government training program for Software developer & AI which last for 3 month. Should I just enter the industry first and do self study as I always done or enter the SE training program and hopefully able landed a job.

    • @CareerVidz
      @CareerVidz  Месяц назад

If your long-term goal is to specialise in software development and AI, the dedicated training program could provide focused skills and industry connections that are beneficial. On the other hand, entering the IT industry now might offer immediate work experience, though it may require extra effort through self-study to transition into your desired role later. I hope this helps!
