Hello, Planet. tells the story of an android (portrayed by Miku) who wakes up alone in a shelter. She discovers that the world is in an apocalyptic state. She sets herself to take care of the pot containing the last surviving plant. She waits for it to sprout, and to receive a message from the exterior of the shelter. With neither situation taking place and her master missing, she takes the plant and embarks in a journey to find him.
Throughout her journey, she greets every object and place that she meets in a clueless, innocent, and cheerful way. After beginning to deteriorate and break from the journey, she arrives to where her master is, yet she discovers that he has passed. Stricken with sadness, she begins to cry, and her tears make the plant sprout. She dies, but the plant's vines rise through the sky, time, and space, to finally arrive in heaven, where she meets with her master again.
The PV ends with showing the planet's vegetation as restored, while it displays the phrase "The Last, LOVE SONG from our planet..." Meanwhile, in the shelter from before, a mysterious letter finally arrives. After the letter's delivery, the "deceased" android is depicted resting next to her master's grave along with the plant growing from the pot.
The song was so cheerful until you explained it. Now I am crying.

Say what you want, I actually find Project Mirai DX's version of the video to be more depressing because everything looks a lot more whimsical in the 8-bit style it has. Combine that with a health bar showing Miku practically killing herself trying to find her master, and a wider variety of backdrops that make you feel a greater sense of scale on what she's trying to do, and it's all the more heartbreaking when she finally finds her master.
Exactly what I thought. The Nendoroids might not as highly detailed, but they get the story of each across just as good, or even better.
Well, since I wrote this comment I also watched the original PV, and I believe that one trumps both.
+Will “Sodapone” S. I feel like project Mirai had more money put into it, this reuses animations and doesn't look very good, Mirai however has all the best music videos, probably due to larger budget and less focus on graphics due to the 3DS limitations on lighting.

To me, this song is bittersweet. Even though Miku's master died, she still gets to reunite with him in heaven. And the plant even sprouted in the end.

This reminds me of Kokoro, like they both have androids, dead masters, and meeting said dead masters again. And both make me want to claw my face off.

What makes this song sadder is that I think that Miku's creator DIDN'T die of age or natural causes or anything. Everything would have been okay for them, but the stasis pod was broken and the creator died.

What I find so good yet tearjerking about the song is that the last love song from earth isn't a romantic one but instead a bittersweet love song.

Such a cute and pretty song, I was crying all through it for some reason, the lyrics and tone and theme of it and everything, and the PV just kindof gets to me every time somehow. So many Vocaloid songs will do that to me.
Only Re-Boot does that to me. :T
I'm kindof ridiculously emotional at times, though not in a bad way I don't think - at least I hope not! I just really love what Vocaloids in particular are all about, singers that only sing the songs of their fans, that will keep on singing for as long as systems exist to run their software, who's every trait and personality is decided upon by countless creative and talented people - it all may be just software, but in some way with how much goes into the songs and PV's and everything else, they may be even more real and close to us than some human popular singer or something. Vocaloids can't talk back or interact with us because their just synth software and images, but in a way they reflect all of the creativity and love that goes into the endless wonderful creations. I guess the ideas behind those things are a part of why I'm often affected so suddenly by Vocaloid songs and pv's. Even ones that have nothing to do thematically with any of those ideas, or ones that are just happy and nice or cool and fun. Wow I write too much!

Yup. They showed it in project mirai. I love that game. Len and rin our my fave personally. Len more then rin. I was sad and almost started crying when I realized len took rins place in the servant of evil song. I guess it touched me because i have 2 younger sisters who are spoiled brats like rin was and even tho i cant stand em sometimes, i do care. So i know how len must of felt for rin in that story.That is my fave song to me because it was so dramatic and I applaud len for his bravery. Sure the whole story was a complete mess of death, but it was also very touching.
I'm glad the story had a happy ending with everyone being reborn tho. X3

Head Canon: This takes place in the (cancel) world of Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel 2. The vault in it was to be Vault 39, and took place in or around Abilene, Texas. So the bomb must have dropped on Dyess A.F.B. and Miku was out in the hills (possibly Tuscola) when it all happened. She left the vault too soon and died radiation sickness. The connection between her and the vault being that they both represent the number 39. Oh and because she left the vault too soon, she never knew the vault had A G.E.C.K. which would have made her plant grow all over the Lone Star Wasteland! But that is just my head canon.

i think this animation teaches us to give up and surrender
So the story is Miku goes into the shelter and then gets a message from "alive" person then she goes there and they are dead so she shuts down herself being the Android she is. now something that no one seems to get is at the end she is "beamed" into a spaceship, but now we pan back and she is still there and her plant has grown meaning time has passed: her consciousness was extracted from her body. The person in the pod transferred their consciousness and now they are either in a server with a virtual environment or they are in new bodies; however miku's body is the same as it always was so i guarantee it is a virtual world that her consciousness was in bc only miku knew what miku looked like and it would be very difficult to make a body for her like that.
