This vid is great, aswell I was not able to turn the ignition key from My MB Sprinter 2008 so I found the Emulator solution and I order one online, after it arrived I installed the smal box and yes jippy I was able to start the car again but still my steeringwheel was locked, what I did ? I Removed the black PVC heater pipe which sit over the steering lock , I just removed the heating pipe, I took the small grinder which show on this vid and I made some small cuts and I was able to remove the cap, took out the interior and the steering lock was gone, U don't need to take out the steeringcolum and disamble your dashboard. It was done in less then 10 minuts to remove the steering lock in the car. My cost only 30 euro's for the emulator, when you bring the car away to a dealer it cost you atleast 1000 euro to repair a small issue and now the car has no steering lock who cares not me 😄😄
It cannot be removed with just a screw without breaking anything if the elv is good or broken, to put the emulator? directly or will the elv latch remain? 
What goes wrong with the ESL? Sometimes mine doesn’t unlock and I can hear the little relays clicking. When it doesn’t work, the key won’t turn in the ignition. I see many people selling the small DC motor on its own. Is this the usual issue?
This one is somewhat wrong. this method do not apply for all sprinters between 07 and '18. also, the crafter has the same stuff. But just before "thats it" be said; what bit whas that on your ratchet? 🙄
We know that this method works on all US 2007-2018 Sprinters, we’ve been doing this method since 2012 and it’s worked everytime. We can’t say about about the crafters, never seen them here. I gotta check but I’m pretty sure the bit was a T30.

how about the 03 sprinter wheel lock. i want to disable it for good. thanks
If the steering column is not locked, then simply remove the retaining pin. No need to pull apart the lock.
If the column is not locked, just leave it be, there is no need to remove it.
What I don’t understand is why would u have to cut anything off if u can just take that bolt and screw off and it comes off
