XGALX ( XGALAXY ) is the name of their label. The group name also comes from that ( XG = Xtraordinary Girls ) Cocona shaving her head can be interpreted in multiple ways. Saying F U to the beauty standards of the industry ? Also, XG got some shade because of their outfits, hair styles,lyrics etc. ( Coco had braids for a lil while, so basically saying here, I cut all off, what now ? ) saying that they appropriate black culture ( they actually don't, they love the culture and they pay homage all the time. They don't pretend, they grew up with those songs, their inspirations are the biggest old school R&B, hip-hop,rap artists mostly from the USA, they sing their songs,they use their beats, they shoutout and everything ) also, it appears she already did that when she was younger and wanted to do it again. The label didn't want her to until now since it fits the concept and MV so she did it in this MV. That can mean a lot of things but its a bold move either way and it is fun, it is swaggy and it suits her personality. She is one of the swaggiest ,coolest people I have ever seen. She is so badass.

Cocona has always wanted to shave her head, her parents told the company this shortly after she joined. They said yes but they wanted to wait till it matched the concept. But she looks SO much more confident on stage now with her buzzcut

In Japanese society, a woman cutting their hair can signify a major change, a break out, a transition -- whether to apologise for something (there, for a woman to cut their hair is an ancient symbol of sacrificing their allegedly most important thing, their sense of being female) or to show a renewed desire & seriousness to achieve the next level. Cocona shaved her head not to lose her womanhood, but to rebel against the very conventions of femininity, being a woman and powerful -- in not only very-conservative-for-women Japanese society, but globally. That she can cut off the very thing clocking her as a female human being to many and still be a queen, with her crew and Simon behind her 1000%, leading from the front. Umm…not really…XGALX is the company name which means X-Galaxy. XG is the group’s name which stands for Xtraordinary Girls. That’s the name of the ship=that’s the name of our company
XG is a 7 member Japanese global girl group aged currently 18-22 formed by XGALX.
They speak Japanese, Korean, and English. XG has a Aliens/Wolves concept.
Fandom is called ALPHAZ because the leader of a pack of wolves is called the Alpha.

That’s 🔥🔥. They were able to knock out multiple things at once
They were thoroughly trained for many years. The trainee group they started with about 30 trainees. Most of them started training at around 12 to 15 years old. Through the process of consistent elimination and examination, the group ended with 7 members. The guy you see at the beginning is Simon Jakops. He is the CEO of XGALZ, XG’s producer, and the person who formed and taught XG their skills along their other mentors. Fun fact, some of the girls you see now almost got permanently kicked out during the training process. They had to catch up to the other trainees and eventually succeed.

Cocona always wanted to cut her hair but Simon wouldn't let her because it didn't fit what they were doing. For this song it made more sense especially with the aesthetic. Her parents even verified, as it wasn't forced on her, she wanted to do it. XGALX is their label owned by Simon/JAKOPS, who founded the group and is also their producer/mentor.
And just to add, the themes you'll see in videos/pics are images of alien/space (as they're different from kpop/jpop groups) and also the wolf as their fandom (their pack) is called ALPHAZ. Dope reaction.

The actually have been documenting everything from day one. They have a documentary called XTRA XTRA and it shows from their training days all the way up to recent. They all wore white Air Force 1s during their training days. They trained for FIVE YEARS. They recently did a shoot with Nike! They had new Nike's on and Jurin said she this took her back to their training days to where they worked so hard that their Air Force 1s turned black and were literally falling apart. They're the epitome of hard work.
I need to check out that documentary. That’ll give me a opportunity to learn a little more about them too

Coco made the biggest statement in this video by cutting her hair because they received backlash for having braids and other hairstyles claiming they were doing culture appropriational styles so she cut her hair to show she doesn't need hair to do her thang.

Another thing is the girls are japanese and based in Korea and in these societies it’s really expected for women to be ultra-feminine, so cocona shaving her head is like a major culture shock. I’ve never seen another Jpop or kpop girl doing that before-ever. Their concept is all about subverting standards and expectations and it’s really cool to see that they ACTUALLY follow through with that message, they’re not just talk but they really do mean to shake up the community there. I really respect the girls, down to the energy and styling.

I want to say this as early as possible because now some people have realised XG doesnt write the lines and start unliking them and talking shit abt them. XGALX is a South Korean label established in 2017 by Simon Jakops (CEO) who created the group XG.
They’re funded by AVEX JAPAN 🇯🇵 so it’s not a S. Korean label but it has a diverse team and many are S. Korean since Simon is a former K-pop idol. AVEX JAPAN is a huge Conglomerate that has many K-pop Artists under them. AVEX International has many in the past and present Popular Artists in the States. 🤍🐺 I googled this information and it’s incredible how many people don’t know this but hate XG and claim since they’re a Japanese Group from AVEX they are against K-pop which is definitely not true. 🙆🏻♀️👍🏽

I know this is random, but i was wondering if you are a hip hop fan, bcs i am.
It is one of the main reason why i love XG, they have great hip hop element in their music.
But also as a fellow hip hop fan and a huge music admirer, i would like to suggest to check out BTS.
People hardly know this but BTS has a very strong Hip Hop element in their music, especially old school hip hop.
2 of the members came from underground rappers, and 1 from hip hop street dancer.
So yea.. they're really good. And they really were and still are the students of the game.

And trust me, if you are a true hip hop lover, you would not be disappointed at all. From old school to newest, they have it all. You just need to dig deeper.
