Mario said clenching his fist "However as I was leaving Koopa told me something. I thought he was lying. But looking here. He was right." Luigi felt fear wash over him. He had never heard Mario so cold and angry before. "You turned against your home. Against me! Your brother!" Mario said his eyes tearing up amidst the anger "M-Mario listen. I just...I was..." Luigi tried to get out a response unsure what to say "What?! Feeling left out?! Overshadowed?! A number two?!" Mario shouted with pure venom in his words as Luigi felt his hands shake "Ma...mario I just...I just wanted to be like you...loved. Seen. Allowed to shine like a star." Luigi said looking at the angry italian "And you thought betraying us was the way to do it?! Luigi I do what I do because it's the right thing! I don't do it for fame or to be a hero! You'd know that if you just talked to me!" Mario screamed at Luigi Luigi felt all his anger melt away to regret and sadness. What had he done? Had he spiraled that far? Did his anger blind him that badly? "Well...well now we can Mario. Please we can make this right." Luigi said hoping for forgiveness "Oh now you want to talk?! Now you want to do this?! Sorry Luigi but you had your chance and you wasted it by joining that dastardly koopa!" Mario shouted "But...but Mario we're brothers...." Luigi said his eyes tearing up "I have no brother. Only an enemy." Mario said as he clenched his fist "And if you don't want to suffer Koopa's fate. I suggest you have your green carcass out of here by morning. As of today. You are public enemy number one of the Mushroom Kingdom. I hope your happy. You finally get to be number one." Luigi fell to his knees as Mario turned and left. His tears rained on his gloves as he punched the ground. This wasn't what he wanted at all. "Oh god no....what have I done...." Luigi said with pain in his voice On that day. A brotherhood died and a hatred was born.
That actually makes sense now that I think about it since we'll the Luigi's mansion games but what would Mario die by? Would he die because of him falling into water then getting pulled down making him not being able to breath?
This is the ending that Luigi is starting to regret turning on Mario. Now Mario is trying to kill Luigi, or well, ‘defeat’ Luigi since Luigi did what he did. Little did Mario know, Luigi was now severely regretting his decisions and just wanted to get the same amount of love and attention from everyone else. Just a sad story overall.

The Story I imagine with this is, Rather than do Oh God No immediately, Mario instead continued the Game with Koopa, and even worked together more with Luigi throughout the Game compared to the original, which made Luigi ultimately question his own Motives for working for Koopa, which was to no longer be under Mario's Shadow. Luigi goes on ahead and Quits his Agreement with Koopa, and leaves to his Former Castle in Oh God no to Take all his belongings and others to help Mario bring down Koopa for good. However, Mario gets there much earlier than he expected, and during the Battle, Koopa tells Mario about Luigi, and swings it in such a Horrible Betrayful Way that Mario, after saving Peach and defeating Koopa, is utterly and completely blinded by Betrayal & Rage, and storms off to fight a Sorrowful Luigi who simply wants to Make amends. Regret will likely befall the survivor of this Battle, whether it's Mario realizing Luigi was changing his Ways for the better and he just didn't see it, or Luigi regretting ever joining Bowser..
im guessing lore of this is simply that luigi is working for bowser but for his suprise mario allready defeated the bowser and his army and now its luigi's time to go down (the reason mario knew luigi was working is that he found it on the records on the way. i mean bowser has alot of castles surely one of them whould have archives of all the allies and enemies)
My thought about this is that Mario just walked past the I hate you level and went on with his journey, wondering where his brother went along the way. After beating bowser the koopa king asks him how much it hurt to find out his brother Luigi betrayed him, confused Mario says no and Bowser laughs at him while somewhat explaining how Luigi gave him info on how to capture Peach this time around. Completely in disbelief Mario backtracks to that level afterwards to see if he was being truthful, and lo and behold he was.

My Story on this: Luigi got jealous but he couldn’t find Mario until he was in the castle but Mario was there turns out he was working with bowser because he want no sidekick until they fought (make up your ending/and this is just my take on this cover)

Regret will likely befall the survivor of this Battle, whether it's Mario realizing Luigi was changing his Ways for the better and he just didn't see it, or Luigi regretting ever joining Bowser..

im guessing lore of this is simply that luigi is working for bowser but for his suprise mario allready defeated the bowser and his army and now its luigi's time to go down
(the reason mario knew luigi was working is that he found it on the records on the way. i mean bowser has alot of castles surely one of them whould have archives of all the allies and enemies)
My thought about this is that Mario just walked past the I hate you level and went on with his journey, wondering where his brother went along the way. After beating bowser the koopa king asks him how much it hurt to find out his brother Luigi betrayed him, confused Mario says no and Bowser laughs at him while somewhat explaining how Luigi gave him info on how to capture Peach this time around. Completely in disbelief Mario backtracks to that level afterwards to see if he was being truthful, and lo and behold he was.

Until he realized… Mario didn’t want any competition for the spot of no 1 in a failed attempt to kill his brother Mario plummeted into the lava. Luigi regretting his decision cried. What was he supposed to do without Mario? He was much too cowardly to do it himself. And he had his own things to do anyways. The kingdom would soon fall to anarchy. Peach trying to calm everyone, asked Luigi for something to do! Luigi had nothing he thought maybe daisy could do something but she was much too busy. Soon the entire kingdom would fall to anarchy without Mario and bowser would later take Luigi. With a proposal. Mario could come back. On one condition. Luigi would have to become his minion. (Thus came the real IHY but Luigi was sad and didn’t want to do this but had to later plummeting to his death. Luigi had sacrificed himself for the kingdom but it was not in vain he moved on letting himself be free and not coming back from the lava vengeful)
