I'm pretty disappointed with the rework. Pallets are arguably worse now, survivors can literally see where the dream pallets are and pre drop them all, and they can now stun freddy. And his teleport isn't cancellable which overshadows the faster speed + instinct in my opinion. I think they did well with the snare, it feels good to use and looks cool, but the rest of his kit..meh.
keep in mind this is just the PTB, this isn't necessarily exactly how he'll be released, they do this to see if any changes need to be made before release

yeah honestly his rework is....ok? His pallets are kinda worse than they were before and his snares still dont hinder well. On top of that, the "rupture" has SUCH a huge tell. If they were aiming to get Freddy out of F tier and make him like high C MAYBE low B, they probably succeeded then
to be fair, with how easy the snares are to use and how short the cooldown is, add any more hinder and it might border on annoying/OP. Same thing for the rupture, if there was less of a tell then I imagine it would be very annoying to go against. Especially considering most survivors likely can't tell if a pallet is fake until they're already near it, which already fulfils a purpose of zoning the survivor to an unsafe area. Even if rupture doesn't land it will still probably get some value by making the player hesitate/run away which could give a free hit. I'm not saying freddy's strong at all now and the rework definitely isn't perfect but it's a big improvement for sure
Yep pretty much, imo he’s high C tier (maybe bottom B in ptb) but when people learn to not heal in the dream and know better counterplay I see him dropping quite a bit
High C to Low B depending on who is playing him. Dream snares are much better even though I still feel something is buggy with the hindered in general. I get the same feeling from clown - you either don't make any distance or you just barely do. Dream Pallets are rubbish and are mainly for zoning. That is a bit boring. Only potatoes will fall for them and get hit Teleporting looks better overall though I do miss the mindgaming of canceling it. Good survivors will heal while awake, bad will still be oblivious and heal while asleep. Even if the game were to flash big red text saying wake the hell up before healing they would still be fooled.

Game punishes you way too hard for hooking and doesn't reward you nearly as much as you used to. A good four-man can use DS, DH, OtR, StB, etc, and completely destroy you for simply doing your objective, so slugging is now becoming the new meta for killers who don't want to deal with those perks. Plus, it allows him to go for more chases and doesn't force him to camp/tunnel in order to win more consistently.
hooking gives too many positives for the survivors than for the killer: DS, BT, OtR, StB, Deliverance, etc, etc. also, the survivors know where the killer is when he hooks someone.
Mid Tier is better than Nerf Tier, Get it, Ass Tier, S, because then BHVR will nerf him to the ground once more because of people who can't seem to get the grasp of LEARNING to counter a character.
If you can make a killer who was so bad into a high c to low b tier killer then i think it's a good rework. I think they did pretty good. Can always fine tune the pallets to be more effective in the future.

Rupture takes way to long and can easily be avoided (in most scenarios) and even when you cant dodge the Rupture, Just drop the pallet and rupture ist gone. So pallets are arguably worse than before. Snare is really nice and his ability to Port nearly everywhere is cool aswell.
To everyone in the comments. Don’t put yall lack of skills with Freddy on everyone else. Freddy is S tier now, I’ve been smacking high MMR before the rework and now I’m about to be dominating SWFs. Maybe he’s bad if you play passive but if you have great awareness and pressure gens, he is close to Nurse which is OP.
what skill was there to have with a clown whose 'bottle' had to be pre-placed and stepped on and rather than speed bottles could teleport to incomplete gens with ~4 sec warning given he's pretty much de-facto been the worst killer for half a decade and saying nonsense like 'he is close to nurse' after qol buffs/nerfs that make him not total garbage says a lot more about you than the people you're prematurely attacking to be honest, most people've been 10 sec two-tapped through the floor of midwich by nurse and would never say things like that
@ As a Nurse main who 2 taps SWFs on Midwich, Freddy to me is a killer of torture who makes the matches longer with immense chases and pressure. It feels good to show SWFs you can walk them down and win with Freddy purely off of Awareness. Actually there is no bad killer, only trash players who plays the killer. Singularity is another strong killer that people finally figured out how to play😂. Yall just bad at thinking, everyone got the slugularity build from me off of Discord.

The pallets stunning him could be alr if they made rupture better base kit but as of right now its useful but very situational.
Maybe take off mind breaker for bamboozle fir Freddy to make loops less effective? Or nah?

it’s ez to not go to the pallets because survivors can see the trapped pallets and just throw them when not in chase
