  • Alex "Hurricane" Higgins, maybe the most naturally talented, most interesting and of the greatest snooker players of all time.
Here is my compilation of Alex and his greatest, and saddest, moments on the snooker table.
Alex' influence on the snooker world was huge. The would not be what it is today without Alex.
Amazing shots, controversies and The People's Champion. Sadly, Alex passed away in 2010 after a long battle with many diseases. But his legacy still lives on to this day!

With everything went on and off the table in his life I'd wish he's still with us.

Alex had his troubles one thing he loved to entertain people but his fines cost him dropping points in rankings and ended up Quitting. He wasn't well liked by many people He was Underrated one thing he made snooker happen Winning the 1982 final world championship. Then He played Steven Hendry 1990 final Alex knew then how good Steven was. In my memory of all time Alex Higgins He was a people's Champion. The Match against Steve James was Alex Higgins Retirment. The fins the fights the bust ups Alex just needed help and support he just let himself go ended up with nothing. Shame how he ended his life Rest in Peace Alex If it weren't for you snooker wouldn't be where it is today. Just amazing Snooker Player Thankyou RIP Let's Share

he was the greatest player i have ever seen! in show business no one loves any one more than some one who can entertain the audience in a way they have the whole audience in there hand. And sport was just the same, becouse it is show businness. And its unscripted wich makes sport so much better. Like george best, maradona, pele, alex higgins, ronnie osullivan, jimmy white, c,ronaldo, tiger woods, those are the type of people i would pay good money to watch! Becouse win lose or draw these guys will still do something magical that you havent seen before and send you away with a smile on your face. I havent laughed in over 20 years watching any football game or snooker too! In 1981 george best was the first footballer to make me laugh in admiration at the goal he scored wich they showed on football focus and the goal was from 1971 when against spurs big pat jeninngs punshend the ball out but only got half a punsh on it as he was challengend in the air as two players went up for it, so it fell to best who was at least 13 yards out and to his left side by a few yards, who let the heavy leather ball bounce on the mud then let it hit his chest then let it drop onto his right foot then casualy lobbed it over big pat who was 5 yards out and phil beal and cyril knowles were standing on the goal line and the ball cleared the bar by about 5 inches. And big pat said as it hit the net "no one will ever do that again" i laughed becouse i had never seen any one score a goal like that before. And i was age 9 year old and football mad. I didnt even know who george best was! And about this time alex higgins was the first snooker player who made me laugh at his skill, and i cant remember any other sports men that made me laugh tbh. And its funny how best and higgins were both from belfast and had the same problems as they got older to. But they two were my heroes growinag up, and best had retired ten years earlier? Well he did keep playing on till 1983 but after 1972 he was never the same player!
