Really enjoy your content Jake! Thanks for all of your hard work and entertainment. I would like to way in on the Zeraora nerf. I noticed in pretty much all of your encounters, you have a 2-3 level lead on your opponent rather than encounters where you are on even levels so of course the encounters are going to feel good. Even so, you can see the nerf at some points in this video. Look @10:47 for example. You have a 3 level advantage on Tsareena, hit her with your unite, a full discharge with the paralysis effect, and you had already some of Zera's passive damage ability activated. She nearly walked away from it. Now if that same scenario were to play out at Zapdos, with not just a Tsareena, but a whole enemy team that is actually at comparable levels to Zeraora... On top of that the shield from discharge was weakened too. The purpose of that shield is so you can hit multiple targets at once, and have a chance to survive. I feel the move was previously balanced because of the counterplay involved and how it functions. Since it is a multihit, it was extremely susceptible to cc. Also all the enemy team had to do is position properly, rather than clump up in one nice group at Zap when they know Zeraora probably still has his ultimate up. The typical competitive engagement is for everyone to use their unites anyway to counter which worked fine before the nerf. Now even if you save your unite until everyone else has used their unite, it just works for cleanup hits (won't even KO a greninja with a little more than quarter health at even levels.) Anyway, I know this has been kind of lengthy so thanks for reading and thank you again for all of your contributions to the community!

They went too far with the nerf. Yeah, Zera was strong, but not broken. Now it'd go into a fight and can't KO down enemies on its own like it used to. You can really feel it in team fights, that the damage is not enough, not what it used to be. I don't think it's worth playing Zera anymore, there are way better options for central mon :( I'm a bit sad that you got this lucky in both matches, with +2-4 levels bigger than the enemy, you can't really feel that Zera is not strong anymore. A few level differences can make any mon feel strong.
Or you could learn how to play wildcharge if you want to solo kill people. Discharge was never really meant to be a skill that kills people 100 to 0. It's meant to chip away health from multiple targets and then let your team or your autos finish them off. It was simply too overtuned. Also, Zera was possibly the best Mon in the game, at least in terms of soloQ. You saw one almost every game. Yet another broken mon, like Lucario, wasn't really seen that much in comparison.
couldn't have said it better, they're slowly ruining all the favorites, garchomp is dead now too, and it was already the worst pokemon on the roster. they somehow even managed to secretly nerf cram even further into obscurity with the last patch. smh
@@lucasmitchell9027 I usually used Discharge for team fights, since it's an AoE and great for damaging multiple mons. But in every match since the patch, I can just see more enemy Pokémon survives even if I run into the team fight when they are already down to half hp. I played Zera in season 1 to master rank and I got used to how much it can damage and when to pull back/when to attack. I had to switch to Blastoise in season 2, because there are way too many speedster/center mon and not enough defenders, but I really enjoyed playing Zera and wanted to go back to playing him after I hit master rank. I don't think people use Zera as much, I mostly see Talon or Greninja going into central. Yeah I agree on Zera could get some nerf, but all these changes at once really made it less worth playing. @@fancyboy3806 lol obviously not, but if you play a character long enough you can tell if there is a situation where if you engage with an opponent you would be able to KO them. You used to be pretty much immortal as long as you has discharge on. Now you can actually die. At least Zera mains are going to have to use their brain now instead of just jumping in the middle of the enemy team and being unkillable.

i mean like discharge is still decent just cause it got a nerf doesn't mean its unviable anymore (example venu). imo learning a different verison of your language is easier than learning a whole new one
Spragels you should try playing jungle machismo with buddy barrier, muscle band, and then razor claw. And for the moves use close combat and dynamic punch. The dynamic punch into close combat shreds anyone who’s not a tank and it’s so fun
the nerf is summarized by what you just said after you united in that big fight at top. "Who did I hit? Well whoever it was it didn't work." (Something along those lines, but yeah unite move should now be called tickle plasma). I think if they add back some damage on the unite or maybe move it to level 9 he will be more balanced
Still does 243-278 per hit, 6 times plus double damage on final hit Thats... 1700-2646 damage to everyone in a mobile AOE around Zeraora. Also giving a shield of 343-552 per hit. (thats kinda nuts) Yeah... The only move i can think of comparing it too is Petal dance 100-174x16 That's 1600-2784 So comparable damage, the difference being the ridiculous shield while venasaur gets some move speed instead.
@@smokeenenra57 You couldent be more wrong. Not only is Zeraora health comparable to venusaur, but he has a built in 10% heal on every 3rd attack. He also has almost double resistances in comparison to Venusaur. He is in no sense squishy, he is infact the tankiest and second healthiest speedster.
@@b00marrows zera has to rely on unite move, shield and dodging attacks with spark or voltswitch to survive idiot, his base health is the highest for a speedster but still is frail , while vena does tons of damage and heals insanely fast, gets unite move earlier and goes online earlier then zera does + he has different advantages and disadvantages compared to zera so that doesn’t change nothing. @@smokeenenra57 Compare to other Speedster, he have alot of combat survivability unlike Talon where you can't heal yourself or Absol who rely on perfect timing

Yes, because it have long cooldown! What a joke....
@@achi6889 you clearly arent a zeraora player so you cant relate to how he plays rn. It did great damage before (but still less than tsareena does now) and had the longest move cooldown in the game. The way one played again zeraora before was to create distance and crush it when the move went on cooldown. Now you can basically 1v1 it at any time at equal level if it runs discharge because it doesnt gain shield and you'll outlive discharge if youre not playing a squishy character like absol or gengar. Zeraora is still good, but only if you choose wild charge. Its okay that zeraora got nerfed, but not as brutally as it did. They need to tweek it up and if the damage isnt the right way then reduce the cooldown like they did with greninja
@@achi6889 you’re the joke here. Speedsters are generally frail so zera receiving the shied nerf makes him way less survivable. Gengar has crazy mo mobility along with the other speedsters. Zeraora only has decent mobility plus his wildcharge is currently buggy wherein it sometimes doesn’t stick to opponents. I’ve played 400 games as zera before the nerf, his discharge kit nerf can really be felt and unless they fix the wildcharge bug, it’s a coinflip to determine if you can stick to opponents. Is joke the only word in your miniscule vocabulary?
Can we talk about how changing Gardevoire, Garchomp, and Mamoswine the way they did just power creeped Pokemon like Charizard super hard? Buff that Bidoof!!!
I have a 5 lose streak. Can’t solo kill stuff anymore, not quickly enough at least. Lucario too. My two mains really got nerfed to the point that I don’t wanna play anymore lol.
At this point, it might be fair to say that if we didn't think Talonflame wasn't the strongest speedster in the game, the argument certainly can be made now. I admit that that when it came to speedsters, I normally went in the order of "Talon, Zera, Absol, Gengar." but with these nerfs, it does feel like Absol could be closer to overtaking Zeraora (although I still feel Zeraora is still the 2nd strongest). Still, it is fair to say that if we were to look at pokemon individually, Zera is probably going to drop under a good number of pokemon for most people's tier lists. Still ok, but others are looking a bit better in comparison.
It's about time honestly. A character with an AoE that big should not have that much DPS. Wild charge should be the advanced high damage single target move while discharge should of been the AoE, soften them up. I wish they would get rid of the shield all together and replace it with like a speed boost with CV immunity because the speedster class shouldn't have any sustainability. That class is meant to hit hard and run, glass canon and all that.
The thing is zera's kit is more inclined to being an all rounder lol , just look at the passive It allows you to heal and deal more dmage the with the damage you receive from the enemy ... Spark heal per combo with normal attck ... Speedsters aren't supposed to soak damage in the first place but it is in his kit lol They should just change his role from speedster to all rounder lol, besides his mobility is just somewhat similar to lucario or maybe even worse, if lucario is running extreme speed.
Discharge was balanced though because of the amount of time it took to deal all of that damage. If it was an instant nuke, yes that would be problematic, but because of how the move functions, there is plenty of counter play (eject button, cc moves, dashes, etc).
Is someone going to tell me how a GENGAR is doing over 125k damage and be basically immune the whole game? Like they only got k.o. Twice the whole match and was spamming abilities SO much and kept stunning our whole team.
triple glasses gengar, that will 1 combo most of the pokemons. So if you have an enemy gengar going dream eater and shadow ball do not chase after it even if it has low hp since dream eater has a low cd.
@@Slither.Wing. full heal? what's that supposed to do cancel the sleeping effect of gengar's dream eater? the damage is not from the sleeping effect/projectile it's from the teleport. Gengar can still can teleport to you even if you are immune to hindrances. As long as you get hit by dream eater Gengar can teleport behind you and deal damage to you. The only way of avoiding the damage is by going invincible eg. scoring animation, casting unites like Charizard's and Tsareena's unite moves.
His nerfs are perfect honestly. Zera is no longer the solo queue maniac he was before and discharge feels less like brainless damage and more like just a neat move that helps with crowd control. Unite move didn't really need a nerf though
It's just that you deal 5k-10k less damage per match.....but if engage at right times and don't play extra greedy...then he is still Zeraora 'The Deleter'.

Maybe it's just me, who got used to the usual damage too much and have a hard time adjusting.
So . . . you expect to KO every opponent you engage with ?
@@fancyboy3806 lol obviously not, but if you play a character long enough you can tell if there is a situation where if you engage with an opponent you would be able to KO them. Based on levels, remaining HP, movement and what damage can you cause. And now that they nerfed zera this has significantly changed and in situations where i estimate i can win, i am no longer able to, because the enemy survives my attacks better/can hurt me better.
The shield nerf affected him more than the damage for me, it’s really annoying
You used to be pretty much immortal as long as you has discharge on. Now you can actually die.
At least Zera mains are going to have to use their brain now instead of just jumping in the middle of the enemy team and being unkillable.
@@lucasmitchell9027 we can switch over to tsareena
the shield nerf was really needed zera could always win a losing fight by activating discharge at the last second
@@megagamer1739 Tsareena isn’t even that good rofllll
@@dylanhicks4771 lol are you kidding?🤣
The unite needed a balance, gave zera the power to 5v1 because the unite koed 1-3 and inside the ring afterwards let him 1v2 the remainers
5:50 when the objectives aren't up yet, but I am not going to farm the jungle, I like to ping one of the buffs to tell my team, "It's dangerous to go alone. Take this!"
Played over 200 matches with zeraora but I only play with wild charge IDK why people use discharge because I used to kill Zera with discharge with wild charge easily
Logical you're invulnerable the whole move, but on other pokemons discharge was better especially if you know how to use the grab
The Zeraora nerf was actually a buff to your entire team. Now your Teammates crush their lanes AND take objectives with ease. Wow I love this nerf!
Yes it got nerfed alright. Wigglytuff beats Zeraora in the total damage count 😂
Learning how to use wild charge after using discharge for so long is like learning a different language ngl 😂
I feel your pain.
I don't think so I learned to use it very quickly 😜
i mean like discharge is still decent just cause it got a nerf doesn't mean its unviable anymore (example venu). imo learning a different verison of your language is easier than learning a whole new one
Spragels you should try playing jungle machismo with buddy barrier, muscle band, and then razor claw. And for the moves use close combat and dynamic punch. The dynamic punch into close combat shreds anyone who’s not a tank and it’s so fun
@spragels There is a game breaking bug at the moment with Cramorant
I heard Spark got a crit buff which makes up for his nerfs. Run scope lens, razor claw and focus band
the nerf is summarized by what you just said after you united in that big fight at top. "Who did I hit? Well whoever it was it didn't work." (Something along those lines, but yeah unite move should now be called tickle plasma). I think if they add back some damage on the unite or maybe move it to level 9 he will be more balanced
Thanks for another informative video man
Played discharge and volt switch after nerf didn’t feel that different
@Spargels can you try Zeraora on lane? I know it's a speedster, but before the patch it was kinda okay on lane.
Still does
243-278 per hit, 6 times plus double damage on final hit
Thats... 1700-2646 damage to everyone in a mobile AOE around Zeraora.
Also giving a shield of 343-552 per hit. (thats kinda nuts)
Yeah...
The only move i can think of comparing it too is Petal dance
100-174x16
That's 1600-2784
So comparable damage, the difference being the ridiculous shield while venasaur gets some move speed instead.
Zera Is frail while doesn’t heal rapidly and doesn’t have a better basic attack.. it has to have more damage and it’s sad it doesn’t
Venu is stronger especially when overleveled and honestly should of nerfed petal dance and giga drain again
@@smokeenenra57 Compare to other Speedster, he have alot of combat survivability unlike Talon where you can't heal yourself or Absol who rely on perfect timing
You forget to mention that petal dance on hero hit reduces the CD for giga drain which is huge for venas survivability.
But to be honest both have their pros and cons. Zera is fine after the nerfs it just makes it a lot harder to 1 v 9 when you have a team of scrubs (which is probably for the best anyway). Btw Coming from a zera main
I was playing against one that was doing so much damage I could have swore there was a bug on him or something It was blowing me away I'd never seen zera do that much without the ult.
I heard zera's passive is currently bugged. I know the feeling. Got absolutely destroyed by one.
Playing tank and in usually level 12 by zap/articuno. Am I not getting enough kos or should I be farming more?
It wouldn't be a proper Unite video without Jake telling us about all of that experience over there XD
Dragonite will release in 19th dec 4:00pm
I mainly played wildcharge spark anyway so this didn't affect me that much
I agree with the nerf yes, but they didn't have to nerf the damage, and the shield it gives, and the ult. In my opinion they should have left the shield alone. They already nerfed 2 sources of damage
Did this nerf make Zeraora weak? No, to be honest I don't see difference...so what is your point? Keep op pokemon forever?
@@achi6889 discharge worked before because it did big damage and the cooldown time at 12 seconds balanced it out. Now that discharge got that big of a nerf, 12 seconds is too much. Should decrease to at least 11, optimally 10
@@halvsketchy9293 Any more jokes? This move was and is still one of the best in the game. Nothing was balanced
I have idea....let them create move that immediately kill all opponents in some range and give it lets say 50 sec cooldown. It will be balanced too, right?
He is great. I just started playing with him again. Wow! What was he like before the nerf.
Damn your laners were killing it
yo how’d that wiggly do 66k damage though… what’s that set?!?

I mean the discharge change is justified but maybe they did too much and the unite move nerf was just unnecessary :(
I KNEW IT WAS YOU!!! I WAS THE GRENINJA FROM THE FIRST GAME!!!
I have been a fan of discharge but since the nerf i will be using spark and wild charge now
It's about time honestly.
The thing is zera's kit is more inclined to being an all rounder lol , just look at the passive
It allows you to heal and deal more dmage the with the damage you receive from the enemy ... Spark heal per combo with normal attck ... Speedsters aren't supposed to soak damage in the first place but it is in his kit lol
They should just change his role from speedster to all rounder lol, besides his mobility is just somewhat similar to lucario or maybe even worse, if lucario is running extreme speed.
Discharge was balanced though because of the amount of time it took to deal all of that damage. If it was an instant nuke, yes that would be problematic, but because of how the move functions, there is plenty of counter play (eject button, cc moves, dashes, etc).
@@WhiteLightnin38 What does this have to do with the comment?
@@AegisOfIgnister "A character with an AoE that big should not have that much DPS."

triple glasses gengar, that will 1 combo most of the pokemons. So if you have an enemy gengar going dream eater and shadow ball do not chase after it even if it has low hp since dream eater has a low cd.
@@ultra4254 oh ok thank you, and yeah it was fucking terrifying, they weren’t even using DE, they were using the sludge bomb hex build😫
@@eu.stacio that build is easy to deal with. Dream eater/shadow ball is way scarier.
To be honest if you have full heal gengar does nothing to you but you didn’t hear it from me
@@Slither.Wing. full heal? what's that supposed to do cancel the sleeping effect of gengar's dream eater? the damage is not from the sleeping effect/projectile it's from the teleport.
Im so happy they nerfed this cancer
Why not acc compare numbers before and after nerf?
It's just that you deal 5k-10k less damage per match.....but if engage at right times and don't play extra greedy...then he is still Zeraora 'The Deleter'.
Zera definitely seems pretty solid! Thanks for the content
The Unite nerf is huge, it’s a tickle now compared to before lol
Zera is great, not broken, as a carry they're perfectly fine. They don't desperately need a nerf, but you could make them more squishy.
look at what they did to my boy
I realized that speedsters are attackers but have melee attack range
I know Zeraora players aren’t happy about it but I think it’s a good thing. Especially playing solo-Q, I felt a LOT less frustrated when fighting Zeraora, felt like more of a fair fight. If I was an attacker or supporter I just kinda melted but now I actually stand a chance lol. I do think his unite should be lowered to 9, though.
Lucario next?
