I love your respect for the native indigenous people of your country. That you acknowledge them and their ancient crafts and knowledge. I used to hunt that green rock. Ours used to have black specks in it and was tumbled in the ocean. I think it was serpentine. I lived in Ahipara in Northland, New Zealand when I was a kid. Greenstone or Jade is a very important rock for our Maori people. As an indigenous woman myself, your love for your people and land resonates deeply for me. Our relationship with the land, ocean, waterways and season is spiritual. Keep up the great content Nate. ❤
This is crazy awesome . I appreciate rocks so so much , I have been left at the river bottom more then once when my ride would leave without me . I just can't stop. . I am so in my element among the prehistoric treasure . I have been this way since childhood . I am so happy that you too see the fascinating worlds within . I have taken folk to find gold using my innate sense for geolegy and they found gold . I just wanted my beautiful rocks . They thought me crazy and were happy to hoard the riches . Good for them . I will take rocks any day this young man gets it . I love this . Rock in people . And what if it is a brain ? . We are blessed to be . All you Rock appreciaters love and incredible discovery to you all . Never forget how to play . Stay safe
You Sir, are a joy to watch. Your calm demeanor, spiritual connection, and insightful knowledge make me very happy. I just subbed! I send positive vibrations and love your way. Everyone reading, have a pleasant day!!! 💚
Nice rock rock rhythm, ooo ooo blue, sugar crystal, purple bubbles, tip... I appreciate all your finds, nice blue with quartz, quartz crystals, agates, citrine, cavernous goodness, nice green rocks, jade? Thank you for sharing your rock adventure!
I just found your videos this week. This is one of my favorites so far. As others have mentioned, I really enjoy your videos for your calm, peaceful voice; the wealth of information you share; your love of nature; your spiritual connection; and the fact that you share a good portion of your time with us in each video. How my husband and I loved exploring many of the same areas when I lived out there in the north bay. He hadn't been able to get out and do much for some time and then passed away two years ago. I've spent a lot of time feeling sad to my bones the last few years. Just a few months ago I retired and moved across the country, but I miss Calif. so much. Watching your videos has given me enthusiasm again, for the first time in a long time, and I find myself looking forward to getting out and exploring nature and rock hunting in my new state. Thank you so much!
11:09 when you picked the sand there was a beautiful blue looking rock. I could not have passed that up. Nice finds again . I believe in your vibes from the rocks. Havagudun friend.
We've walked many of the same creeks in Sonoma, Lake Mendocino and Napa counties - thanks for sharing your knowledge !! I learn and get many of my burning questions answered by watching and enjoying your vids - Rocks - everyday !!
I recently stumbled upon Quest for Details, and I truly enjoy your rockhounding adventures. I am not far from some of these areas. A good friend of mine and I have hunted the Clearlake area, and hunted the Eel River. We found some amazing things! Thank you for sharing!
@18:36 I would have LOVED to see that rainbow jasper type wet!!! Btw, I just stumbled upon you tonight.... enjoying coming along on your treasure hunts. Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm.
Cool video I went out to the beach this morning and found some nice agates and some jasper pretty excited. Cleaning them now so I cut one I had and started the sanding process. Love it enjoy nice finds
Hey Brother, great videos with a great vibe included! I also spend a fair amount of time out in the western backcountry of California and have a similar fascination for life and it's natural wonders. Thank you for these, and also for encouraging folks to get out and see this stuff! It's Amaaaaaazing! Oh, also, If you get in an area like that again, next time try sitting down with a large flat rock, and a smaller handstone and grind like grinding corn in a metate. It is a sound that has echoed through the pinion covered mountains around my home for eons and has a great effect at calling the good stones to you....don't forget the animals too.....they are your katchinas! If you ever get to Bishop, CA lets go on walkabout together. I have some stuff I would love to show you!
Great day even cut short. You've got me want to head that way. We just spent 11 days last month in Black Rock desert, then another long trip to Oregon, we have so much and I am ready to there. lol
Loving the patterned rock! Please keep them for your rock garden. The spear point was a cool find too. Indian artifacts intrigue me because your hands have been the first to touch it since an indigenous person has handled them. Fantastic hunt and great finds! 😉 Please tell me you kept ALL your finds, please.😊
OI Brother ,, carfull on the river glass assumption ..I thought this for a couple months till i then got a chunk that was way to thickto be glass i looked it up and to the "Nature Givin knowledge".Blue topaz!! It looks just like river glass it's like a 5 on hardness it is best to chip a little piece off a nice chunk like you found and peer inside to see if there are inclusions of natural impurities forming inside and it has a slight blue hue... also brown or empress topaz as well its like brown beer bottles still not sure crush the little chip u made and it will polverize like glass does. Glass river glass also when chipped breaks off like flint does sharp jagged flakes .... keep it coming . Best .
Wow wonderful finds. That is a great rockhounding spot. Our family farm is on a hill overlooking a small lake. It happens to be a perfect place for arrow heads. The Potawatomi had a spot there by the lake so up on the hilltop in the field are arrow heads and it was a spot where they made the arrow heads after getting the flint or obsidian from Kentucky. They also would send smoke signals to a neighboring tribe a few miles away on another lake. It fires the imagination when I find castoff rocks or arrow heads. Who held it and who made it?
Pennsylvania here 👋, seriously the only rock hunt video that kept my interest the whole vid.. I can't stay out of the river near my house! Its winter now so i have to wait till spring 😭, but super stoked about what the river months will gift spring with 😍. You explain in the radest way 🤙, super cool man..
At 11:56 the middle bottom of the screen, it looks like a finger sticking out of the ground [complete with fingernail] I think it's red jasper...but that really freaked me out. Just hoping it was Not a finger. Love your rock hunting videos. :)
The brown and white little bulbous rock looked a bunch like fire agate. Cut as close to the brown next to the white to find the fire. Many of the multi colored Jasper's you've shown is called polychrome. Wish I could go lol
I just realised that I've found alot of minerals and crystals but allways thought "meh, some crap" and left it there HAHA damnit! I had 3 big chunks with some yellow pointy crystals when I was little that I found in the woods on the ground without digging I remember :D
You’re awesome dude!!! I can’t wait for the snow to melt up here in NB, Canada so I can get Rocking! Until then, I’ll keep enjoying and living your Hunt. I’m right there with you brother! We’ve got the same taste, way and philosophy in Rocking. Hard to beat a day out Rocking, enjoying, APPRECIATING and taking in all the natural beauty that’s literally right under our feet and all around us. PS- Very nice Hunt. You got some wicked looking ones. Keep Rocking and Sharing Brother!!! ‘Til the next one!
That's cool that you've got your little superstitions, like rubbing those rocks together to coax out special rocks. My superstition is that the very FIRST keeper I find, be it a beautiful jasper or agate or feldspar, I hold in my left hand while I rockhound. Whether or not any of it makes an objective difference doesn't matter to be, because even if it's only in my mind, it feels right.
Sounds like they could be Crickets at night when all the animals are coming out... when the fire starts to come alive at night if you're down by like swampy areas
Very much like hearing you talk. Everything you found was gorgeous!! I do have a question… The stones that you found at the beginning..do you happen by chance to know what kind of stone it is? Wonderful video, and looking forward to more. Have a blessed day ✌️💜😃
I'm in Vermont we don't have much to find other than garnet and quarts and jade I found s nice apple green jade deposit which is really hard to find.but I think I'm going to start hitting the gravel bsnks like you said its spring now and I can afford a metal detector lol happy picking
putah creek, by hidden valley, pope creek ,pope valley, dry creek, middle town, Russian river highway 101 corridor, ....good luck thanks for watching !
Nate, do you ever watch your videos when someone has a question about a video from the past? It's rare that you have a video that I have not seen. There are a few. That crystal looks just like a clear lake diamond.. beautiful.. I love the green red and quartz. I'm missing my local shop.. but I'm enjoying my grandchildren. Its nice to share videos with them..
I've been at a loss trying to identify my Jade agate of marroon, green, white, pink, & brown. I think it's exactly what you were holding in the end of this video I'll try to send a pic so you can help me verify if I'm right or if you know what it is.

Thats botryoidal agate and perhaps perhaps amethyst.
