Thank you. I've been trying to S rank this mission with a double shotgun myself. Felt pretty good about my no damage run, but this mission requires speedrun tier set ups for an "S".
Just got s Rank on this after many wasted hours, the secret to this s rank is not just speed but also bonus pay. Got to keep ammo and repair costs low while making lots of bonus pay so you want to kill a lot of stuff but only the ones that pay well. You can kill the 6 mt's before rummy then once the shutters open fly to the roof of rummy's building and destroy the 3 tetrapod mt's. Fly across to the rocket mt's and kill those followed by the droid mt's that drop when you try to open the door. Kill all the mt's in you way as you proceed to the next door (you can skip the 2 by the lava since they worth less). When you open the door fly all the way to the top where you can see the final tetrapod before the cleaner but go right instead to where the chest is and kill the mt there plus the 2 that drop down. Mop up the mt and then on to the cleaner. If you can do that fast while using guns with low ammo cost you'll get the S rank. I tried with single and dual gats but had too many expenses. I tried with zimms but ive avoided them since i saw how powerful they were before i tried them and didn't want to suck the fun out the game. I was using a dual laser handgun build to S rank all missions and thought i couldn't do this mission with the build but i was either not killing anything and just rushing or i was killing the wrong things that didn't give enough money. I use a songbird on the right and the ML Redshift in the left weapon bay. I use the Redshift to save on ammo cost as well.
This man knew the trick. Killing more enemies is needed, even though this video shows a speedrun working it never worked for me without the extra kills.
@@kirkportas4110I have a feeling the “speedrun” method got patched out, there’s an S rank calculator out now and doing this mission without killing any unnecessary enemies makes the time requirement less than 1 minute
This mission seemed disproportionately hard to S rank. I might just be bad at fighting the smart cleaner. Edit: The missions from all 3 endings combined (9 missions total) took me fewer total attempts than just Grid 086. 100% had to do with how I struggled to kill the smart cleaner quickly.
I went with a very similar setup, only I had a zimmerman instead of the gatling. I made a lot of attempts and always got an A. what put me over the threshold for the S were two specific things: - defeating some of the bigger enemies on the way; - NOT taking the resupply (I started taking it after I started killing more enemies because I would lose at least 1 health bar). I ended the S rank run like this: repair costs: 20706 ammunition costs: 24250 details: generic weaponry destroyed: 1600 light MTs destroyed: 46400 heavy MTs destroyed: 123200 ACs destroyed (MAD STOMP): 30000 special heavy craft destroyed (the boss): 60000 I had half AP and 2 heals left when I finished. important detail: two of the bigger enemies that can help you get the S rank are the two tetrapods just above the area right after MAD STOMP. I would go at them like this: double songbirds shots from close range, then immediately quick boost into charged pile bunker. if you see you can't reach them with the pile bunker as you're about to throw out the hit, remember you can cancel it by quick boosting and try again right away. another detail: I don't know if it was the nerf to songbirds that did this (iirc they got nerfed a bit in 1.03.1?) but usually the boss wouldn't get staggered by the two songbird shots, so I had to follow-up with a kick (with reverse-joints legs) to push him over the ACS limit.
Every mission is a torture to get this S rank. Already tried 10 times this mission. Even killed the AC on lower floor. Finished the mission fast and with almost no damage taken. Everything. The game doesn't tell what it wants, so the player has to kill himself to discover. The platinum trophy of thus game has been a torture to me. Almost giving up this sht.
i just cannot get an S rank. I am doing it even more efficiently than you, faster, with less damage. Tried killing more enemies, tried everything. I have no idea what the game wants. :( nice mech colors by the way, ive also been rocking a cyan colorschenme
@lighthunter202 Fly up top and behind, after the shutters open after the Rummy fight. There are 2 tetrapod enemies. Kill them quick and then you can relax a bit for the rest of the run. They add some leisure time to get the S Rank! You can even resupply.
I tried many times and fail a lot. Until I decided to go without taking the resupply... Well, it was all left for me. I got it first try without resupply. Hope this info helps someone.

This mission is next to impossible to S rank holy sht
This build just works! What I learned from this is that you conserve the shoulder missiles. Use it only the boss to minimize ammo costs.

Thanks! Finally got it with this build.
Glad I could help

I did this one faster than you did but still I got A rank. Im burned out since I did at least 10 runs already.

This mission has been pissing me off something fierce man, watchpoint s rank was a cakewalk compared
finally got it. even with more damage taken
this one is "random" as shit. speed is very important.

Thank you dude
This mission needs a nerf. S ranking late game missions is easier than this.
Thank you.
Brilliant
This whole time I've been thinking I needed to kill more enemies or some shit, and you just flew right past most of them for the S 🤦♂️
i just cannot get an S rank. I am doing it even more efficiently than you, faster, with less damage. Tried killing more enemies, tried everything. I have no idea what the game wants. :(
nice mech colors by the way, ive also been rocking a cyan colorschenme
I dont understand, I literally have 10k repair and only 16k ammo cost and its still a freaking A
Speed above all else matters for S
No way, I did it just as fast as you

@@spiedemonthanks your advice helped me S rank it
This one is so dumb to S rank
Have you done attack the watchpoint alt s rank? Idk what im doing wrong
yep, vid is up
I ran double zimmermans and double plasma missiles, dumpstered sulla and baleus first try and got s rank
I tried many times and fail a lot. Until I decided to go without taking the resupply... Well, it was all left for me. I got it first try without resupply.
