This makes me very curious as to where the other members of Team Avatar factor in, as well as the concept of the Avatar itself. I wonder how Sanemi will react to the fact Airbenders are pacifists, but the Airbender kid he gets can bend all four elements. I also wonder how Rengoku will factor into Zuko's story. Lastly, Katara and Sokka are siblings, but they have a loving family. I find it difficult to see what would draw Giyuu to them, but you're the mastermind. Actually, I just remembered that maybe the death of Sokka and Katara's mother and the absence of their father might actually be a reason Giyuu would take them under his wing. Still, I'm curious to see if the other members of Team Avatar will come into play.

Rengoku would adopt Zuko so fast in my opinion if he was given the option. @@scarletrevon522 Well, Sanemi probably would dislike the nomadic nature of the Airbenders, however, the Airbender kid(Aang) he gets can bend all four elements. He literally gets the strongest kid in Team Avatar. In the regard, I really don't think that Sanemi would mind Aang. In fact, I think Aang would remind Sanemi a lot of Genya in away. As for the relationship between Rengoku and Zuko: Zuko has a biological father(Ozai) and a sister(Azula), but the father is abusive and his sister is mentally unstable. Zuko's mother disappeared and all Zuko had to lean on was his uncle, Iroh. Iroh became Zuko's surrogate father as the show progressed. I think Rengoku's relationship with Zuko would be an older brother/second mentor kind of relationship and his placement in Zuko's story would be that the Rengoku family were friends of his mother's(Ursa's) family. That's just me. As for Sokka and Katara, I mentioned in my comment that the reason Giyuu might take them in due to the fact that their mother was killed and their father was absent and all they had was their grandmother. I think that Hakoda(Sokka and Katara's father) would meet Giyuu on his travels and ask him to go find Sokka and Katara and take them in, just so that they have an older brother figure or mentor. Let's be real here, Giyuu isn't that much older than Sokka and Katara. So, calling him their "adoptive father" is a stretch. It makes more sense to call him the older brother figure. That's just what I think, anyway.
