I’ve just ordered one of these 3m 😅 it will be my first parawing experience. I’m mainly looking at cutting angles for paddle dw. Hopefully I can manage it out of the bag 🤙🤙
Great review! Thanks! But the Ensis seems to collapse as early as the BRM if you depower (losen the lines in the back)!? Gusts are then uncomfortable!? Looking forward to the Flow test, where it seems depowering without collapse of the wing is possible (?).. would be great if you compare all three re/ depower/collapse, comfort, upwind, packsize…Regards from Germany
We all would love to see what the process is when the wing gets completely submerged after a crash and the process of detangling and relaunching. Thanks
Thanks mate. For most of my testing with this wing I was actually using the DW 8”10 believe it or not. I needed to make sure I was going to get up with the 3m.
Yes, absolutely you can. It’s needs to be relatively windy (to account for the speed you travel downwind) but this is a great way to leave to read the bumps.
Thank you for your great presentation of the Ensis Roger. We will incorporate the feedback into our development. I can already tell you that the 4m Roger has fewer lines, shorter lines, and a few other cool features. We look forward to introducing it to you soon!
@hydrofoilacademy ah okay so more volume in the board and mid aspect foil ? I don't know if it makes sense for nearly 900 euros . Anyway as you said it's the first generation

It's a very difficult question to answer as it depends upon your gear (board and foil size) and rider skills. I was able to get up in around 15kts with big gear.
I was really interested but it only comes in a 3M. Not really ideal for O’ahu. Gonna try the Flow D-Wing. Especially seeing as how it’s made by a company that makes paragliders.
Great information!
So awesome to see the progression. Based off of this, I am confident in my decision to get a Flow
Thanks! Glad the video helped.

You will have a blast mate. Just expect it will take some learning, but it’s worth it.
Are you going to test the Flow D Wing?
Yes, this is coming very soon.
Woohoo im subscribing then @@hydrofoilacademy
@@hydrofoilacademydo you know when the review will drop?
thanks Gav - looking fwd to the results of the testing
I have now got the Flow D-wings too, so more to come soon!
@@hydrofoilacademy cool - keen to see your thoughts on both
Hi Gav whens the Flow D-Wing review coming.
I have the Flow D-Wing and am working on the review now.

I’ve got the Flow D-Wing and a review is coming soon…
But are BRM and Ensis similar in collapsing when depowering? Or is one better?
Is this 3m parawing equivalent a 3m wing ?
Yes, it’s loosely the same
@ 👍🏻tks
We all would love to see what the process is when the wing gets completely submerged after a crash and the process of detangling and relaunching. Thanks
Yes, that’s a great idea. I’ll be sure to film that next time it happens.
Great video as always. Did you use a mid length armstrong ? If yes, what size do you think would be good for 70kgs and parawing 4m ?
Thanks mate. For most of my testing with this wing I was actually using the DW 8”10 believe it or not. I needed to make sure I was going to get up with the 3m.
Could you still ride bumps down wind without actually packing it down ?
Yes, absolutely you can. It’s needs to be relatively windy (to account for the speed you travel downwind) but this is a great way to leave to read the bumps.
Great review. Looking at buying the D-Wing. What is the the cost of the Ensis.
I’m doing a review on the D-Wing right now. Will be out hopefully next week.
@@hydrofoilacademy Cool. Look forward to that.

Thanks, that’s great to hear. Looking forward to the new version.
Hey what was the wind range you used it in with how much l ?
I’ve used it in 15-30kts. Works well but you need to change your other gear to suit.
@hydrofoilacademy ah okay so more volume in the board and mid aspect foil ? I don't know if it makes sense for nearly 900 euros . Anyway as you said it's the first generation
Nice review, hopefully you will get a chance to ride the Born WaveStar. I find it has a more controlled flight then the BRM.
do you have the wavestar?
I wasn't a fan of the Wavestar to be honest. I've got a review of the Flow D-Wing coming soon...
Yes, I've tried it.
@@hydrofoilacademy Whats the drawback of wavestar? there are no reviews of these born kite PWs anywhere..

how much wind does the 3m require?
also, in comparison to BRM 3m, does it get by with less wind?
It's a very difficult question to answer as it depends upon your gear (board and foil size) and rider skills. I was able to get up in around 15kts with big gear.
@@hydrofoilacademy 105L DW board and a large foil?
I was really interested but it only comes in a 3M.

I’m in the process of doing a review of the Flow right now!
With a smaller board for wingfoil, my weight+10L, i guess would require lot of wind and technique
Yes, with a 3m parawing you will need 20kts for that I believe.
