Also even here in germany many believed him to be either a Russian or a 'Spätaussiedler", the russian born descendent of german settlers to Russia from the 17th/18th century. Ivan Rebroff is one of the most iconic voices of all-time. My mom introduced me to him when I was a kid and I still get goosebumps hearing him sing.
