Wow, I'm an African American woman and have always dreamed of moving to Switzerland and doing this exact same thing but on a much smaller scale. The mountain/land is absolutely beautiful.
I just love this Channel, i almost always learn something new about my home country in your videos! Keep up the good work and as always, very well explained. :)
hello bro, I just discovered your channel and I find the way you present our country really nice. It's pretty crazy to see an American leave everything in his big country to come to a backwater like Switzerland, it's even more interesting to see your opinion on cultural differences and such. Looking forward to your next videos
Very interesting subject, having been to Switzerland many times in the summer, the cows are everywhere, bells can be heard all the time and I'm told traditionally to help find lost cows. I'm curious if GPS is being used on modern farms now? Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
A lot of it is tradition, but the Bells do serve purposes, especially in the Alps. Many of the cows are dairy cows that need to be milked twice a day. The bells help farmers find the cows faster. I don't know if GPS is used or not, but that's an interesting question.
Some alpine farmer let their cows outside all year round. I've visited such a farm once - the farmers are friends of my extended family. The barn is more of a wind, rain and sun protection than a close building, with one wall completely missing. I was told all types of cows could manage the cold and snow, if they were used to it. I do wonder about the land around the barn in sping, when snow is melting and the groud is soft... Is this still a meadow, or does it turn into a mudfield?
Very interesting. I know this is common in the US, but I had not seen it here. I would think the land would get pretty muddy, but it would also depend on how many cows there are.
Hi. I wonder where mostly the farmers feed and release their livestocks. Is it only possible to release your livestock only in your private land, or is it okay to release and to feed your cows to the common land.( the country land maybe..?)
Hi sir ,I like to work on the farmer as a help farmer, I am a belguim citizenship and I live for 2 years in Portugal now I would like to move to Switzerland for work ,I speek very well German and French Italian and Dutch if course English also,I hope to see your response about the job, thanks a lot🇵🇹💕👍simao

Yup. It’s quite common. Especially in areas where people complain about the bells. 😒
The bells were there before the people.😉

@@AmericameetsSwitzerland Legend has it that the bells even preceded the cows.
