The word "Marathon" is from the place that the first Hellenopersian war was fought during the second Persian campaign against the city-states of the area that now is modern Greece. The general responsible for the Hellenic victory was an Athenian named Miltiades (pronounced Miltiadis) and not Leonidas' father. Also the messenger who brought the news of the victory back to Athens did die due to fatigue (he ran in full armor) and that's why we have today's classic marathon (42 km, the distance between the town of Marathon and Athens)

don't get me wrong the Greeks are excellent warriors but the Japanese were perfect warriors their metal work armor work was far superior than the Greeks that is just because of the time period or better known as the Bronze era while the Japanese where in the steel era if you were to put a Japanese samurai up against a Spartan warrior the samurai would win due to the fact that his equipment is far better that does not mean Spartan warrior could not hold his own but the Spartans are better in a unit while the samurai we're trained to take on multiple opponents by himself so who is the superior warrior but you're right they were very good warriors and they should be honored Thanks for your comment you have a warrior's heart and A path of honor so thank you
