HAVE A SAFE , PROSREOUS, AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR
Thank you my friend, You Too!!!
I have a Craftsman router and bought the Harbor Freight bushings and had to return them. They were a fraction too big to fit in the hole. I bought a more expensive set off of Amazon that look identical but they fit fine.
Yes sometimes the holes are different sizes on different routers. Glad you got it figured out. Thanks for watching, Eric
Great stuff, Happy New Years guys.🎉🎊🎆
Thank you Graeme, Happy New Year to you!!!
Happy New Year guys from the Batley family.
Thank you!!! Happy New Year to you!!!
Happy new year Eric and Vicky
Happy New Year John. Hope you have a spectacular 2019!!!
Hey Dave, Happy New Year. I thought I would let you know that you can put that step hole in your existing base that you made if you have forstner bits just cut the big hole first just deep enough for the template follower and finish with the smaller hole because the bit already has the center cut started for you
Sounds like a great way to do that, Thank you!!!
Great video Eric. Happy New Year to you and Vicki. God Bless.
Thank you Larry for watching and all the support. Happy New Year to you!!!
Happy New Year to you all. Look forward to sharing 2019 with you!
Thank you Zara, same here. 2019 will be the best yet!!!
Did you get the centering pin that should be part of the bushing kit? it makes centering the bushing (or bushing and base plate) pretty direct.
The set didn't come with one. Would have been nice.
Eric, wouldn't a heavier router be more stable? especially in pine? heavier, more power, less tendency to snag the grain lines? I don't know since I can't compare, I only have one router.
this might be interesting, i believe you have a few routers correct? how about testing all of them with the same bit in the same wood (pine) and see which snags the less and which snags the most.
I used a heavy full size router for about 35 years before I got the idea to try the palm routers. I have lots more control with the small routers. That being said I have met a few carvers that like the heavier routers better for stability. So it becomes a personal preference. Everyone is different. It may make a good video to do a comparison head to head tho. Thank you for the idea, I will give that some thought.
Opps- your description is one of the most direct I have seen- bushings can be fun (Thanks for pointing out the ability to make small changes in the sizes- always wondered what the great big ones were, even bigger than the 1/2" bits... thanks again for a stupendous series, better than any others I have watched!
Happy to help Alan. Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks so much for watching us for so long and all the support, much appreciated. Happy New Year to you!!!

Thank you Mark, same back at you my friend!!!
I go to Harbor Freight for some things but I always ask the check out person how long do I have to bring it back for WHEN it breaks. LOL.
LOL....
HAPPY NEW YEAR ERIC-VICKY-DAVE AND THE REST OF YOUR FAMILY BEST WISHES FOR A GREAT NEW YEAR 2019. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR VIDEO'S AND GOD BLESS
Thank you my friend. We so appreciate you being with us for so long. Hope you have a stupendous 2019!!!
I'm glad I watch this this morning because I purchased one of those routers and I have been debating sending you guys the base to attach a carving base plate to it I only planned on using it for big backgrounds but it being poorly made is a good thing to know
I think for carving signs it should work fine. Just not to precision for cutting shapes. But it still worked just fine.
Wishing you and your family a happy 2019!
Thank you so much, hope 2019 it your best yet!!!
Once again a very informative video. Hope you Vicki and all your family have a wonderful New Year.

The HB guides do work well. Happy new year to you and your family.
Yes they have for me too....
My Template Guide set came with a tapered cone used to center the plate on the router.
That's a good idea....
Take it back to HF, they should replace it.
I'm sure they would have but we made it work.
Eric and Vicki great year of videos. 2019 will be awesome. Have a great new year and Vicki happy belated birthday. I hope you had a great day.

Good morning God bless you family and friends. great tips on everything have a happy New Year's to you and your family and friends. From Puerto Rico

Do you use a centering guide? I do a lot of inlays and a centering guide is a must. Even with my better routers. Another thought is to slightly ream the base plate mounting holes for more adjustability.
Normally for what I do I don't need a centering guide. Would have been handy here. Yes opening those hole would have been another way to go too. Thank you for the feedback, Eric
Happy New Year
Thank you Luther!!! On Wednesday's video I'll be reviewing your wormy maple. Thank you again!!!
