I didn't actually like riding it that much, but it is the most fascinating ride to watch in action, I can spend an hour at a fair just watching it.

At the end he screams "I've got a puker here". Why do people ride stuff like this if they don't have the stomach for it. The Zipper is no Kiddie Ride.

I had the pleasure of running an early Zipper back in 1968 when Chance set it up for a weekend at Joyland Park in Wichita. They were field testing some modifications to the ride. Ride operators love the Zipper for two reasons, it is extremely easy to run, especially compared to older rides like the Eyerly Octopus or Rock-O-Plane, and the fact that it literally rains money under the ride. I picked up nearly $6 in change that Saturday, a big deal when you are being paid 75 cents an hour!

I once let it rain money on purpose for a tip for the ride operators. I got the idea because money would fall from my pocket it was fun besides I overheard the operators talking they were short on money. I would laugh as pennys, nickels, dimes and quarters would fall from my pocket and fly all over in the zipper and rain out. When I got home I wanted to go on the zipper again so I brought more change. I went to that fair every day it was their to go on the zipper. Oh yes I brought more change because you only live once and it made me crack up to have change flying around in the zipper and the ride operators were very happy as they could now afford the things they needed. That was around 25 years ago. A very golden memory that still makes me laugh. They found over 10$ and were still counting coins.

Nice one. They should build a Zipper ride with this design and add both Jack-O-Lanterns and orange and black LED lights for every Halloween carnival
