    I really enjoy your videos of the different kinds of outboard motors. I have a 1957 -Evinrude 3hp lightwin and I have learned a lot from your videos

    I have a 1962 Evinrude Lightwin 3042B and main question is adjustment. I know about using a choke but I thought the tech who rebuilt it told me to start out with a different setting on the other knobs after warming up or something. Thanks. Probably more what you said, awesome

    This will help me with my 1971 4hp yachwin. I'm having a hell of a time adjusting the speed, wasn't aware that I had to just them at full throttle and idle... good to know, thank you.

    I've got a 1965 lightwin like this. bought not running. I've replaced the coils, wires, plugs, water pump, rebuilt carb, new head gasket, cleaned and gapped points. I am having a terrible time with coils. I bought a new set of the light green colored CDI ones from eBay. one of the first 2 I received was dead in arrival, so they sent another to replace. after running 20 minutes the other one of the first set died. I have just received a replacement for it but I'm wondering. is there something going on here that I'm not aware of? champion j4c, gapped at .030, and coils set flush with mounts. thank you

    I just rebuilt my 62 3hp, got a video series on it. I still can't quite dial in a nice low idle tho. If I move it past the start position toward the Low position, it'll konk out. Any suggestions? Thx!

    What is the compression? or it might be lean on the low speed.

    Hi please help. I have the same exact motor. It wouldn't start, so I noticed one of the sparks are bad. Changed the sparks. Trying to test with spark tester while pulling the cord to start it and spark tester does not light up. Any idea what the problem could be?

    How do you tell what year these old evinrudes are? My grandpa gave me his old ducktwin motor. Having worked on the recoil I can tell it's the earlier style starter 1952-54 but that's all I can find

      thanks. could you advise if i should buy an outboard its an old model mercury, never used or started, it was forgotten in a storage tags still on, and paint is flawless. do you think its piston is rusted or damaged from no gas/oil from all these years? should i go ahead buy it?

    • @chrysleroutboarddude
      @chrysleroutboarddude  7 лет назад

    • @chrysleroutboarddude
      @chrysleroutboarddude  7 лет назад +1

      that's a good motor but any motor that has been sitting for that long will need to be serviced and should be checked over like a used motor.
