Thanks everyone for watching. I appreciate the positive response! It sounds like this may have to become a series with the other state league competitions. And a quick correction to the 1976 SANFL Grand Final between Sturt and Port Adelaide. This was played at Football Park (not Adelaide Oval). Cheers guys
Sturt and Port also hold the ground crowd record for Adelaide Oval too (62000 in 1965). ...for a sporting contest anyway. I think Adele may have beaten it for a concert. In 1976 they stopped counting at 66k. Police estimated 80k turned up.
Wow man! This video is so rad! I (WAFL fan) Defs learnt a lot bout SANFL cause of this If you don’t make a WAFL version then I’ll do it (cheaper version) haha
Shannon Hurn is from the Barossa region (Angaston) where his family has been making wine for over 150 years; his Sister is Ashton Hurn who is the local state member of Parliament for the Barossa.
I was certainly surprised to find out he's from SA. Having such a long and successful career at West Coast, I always thought he was from WA. Another great story and talent!
GO YOU MIGHTY BAYS 🖤💛🖤 Lachie Neale, Lincoln McCarthy, Alex Neal-Bullen, Brad Close.......even coaches Craig McCrae.......the list goes on and on......what a club
Thanks mate! I really appreciate it. I think the oval is open at times. When we arrived, most of it was gated off besides the other side from where we came. And in terms of the main building, we could have entered into what looked like a reception area. We decided not to go in as we were pushing it for time and didn't want to cause a stir since we were filming
Great you are shining some light on the SANFL but not exactly crazy driving from Noarlunga to Elizabeth, as the thumbnail might suggest 😂 But hey I clicked, and now I'm learning things 🤷♂️
As Port fans you said nothing about Port Adelaide found on May 26 1980 and played their first on 28 May 1880 and won six flags in a was 1949, 1950, 1951, 1952, 1953 and 1954 and won thirty six flags and one AFL flag why?
I think I went to all the SANFL grounds as a fan in the late 90's early 2000's. You have to be dead keen to go out to South or Central as an away fan though it's a long way. Would be good to see Thebarton Oval the old West Torrens ground.
I got pissed one night recently and got into Thebby oval through a hole in the fence and kicked a few imaginary balls around. The surface is magnificent.

Excellent video!! From a Norwood fan who has lived in WA for 10 years 🎉

Haha, cheers mate! I'd love to do the same with the WAFL. Could use a tour guide...

respect from an association football fan in scotland.
I appreciate it mate!
I’m a Sturt supporter and I was at the 2017 grand final where we beat port Adelaide by a single point. One of my greatest experiences
As an American, the history of aussie rules is so fascinating. Love the state leagues just as much as the AFL. Great video!

Can't be stopped!
Great Video Mate, I really enjoyed it. Shame you couldn't get into West Lakes, is it ever open to the public?

The biggest crowd ever for Sturt was at Footy Park, not Adelaide Oval
Good on ya little cousin ;) that’s a great video!
Much appreciated mate! Thank you 🫡 Was great fun filming
Love how Hurn was balding as a teenager
Nice vid! You reckon you could do wafl or vfl?

Up the Bays 🐯
Good video, up the double blues 💙🩵
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it 🫡
forgot horne fracis for panthers
Go to NSW and QLD and visit the old NEAFL clubs which are now VFL or no longer playing
At this point, I think I might have to tour each state... and I don't hate that idea, haha!
Do it in the Tasmania
This would be awesome! I've never been to any of the state league stadiums, but seeing some photos, it looks really well established
fremantle has about 4 players from woodville west torrens you didnt mention
It surprised me how many AFL players came from certain clubs. SA football thriving!
love it.
wonder what is in hold for the league once we get a national reserves comp
Going to be very interesting. Do we get two teams join from the Adelaide Footy League...
even maybe a new team for like the hills or mt barker area etc, even tho they are in sturts catchment@@GearUpAU
Every SANFL club? How so? What about the Magpies?
